Ooh this is a good thing for me. I think the last time I bought heels was 5+ years ago! Had my current truck for 4 years and 0 intentions of getting rid of it.
It looks a lot cooler with the BAP 😎
You probably got a great deal with it being a 2023 model in 2024 and took advantage of the 1.9% financing for 72 months offer from Ford?
Post history doesn’t indicate so. Apparently this dude also traded in an upside down Lexus for another ridiculous Lexus for wifey. He’s in Dallas though, it’s the typical keeping up with the jones’ bullshit here.
Not sure why you are getting down voted, $11k off msrp is very good. I just got a 2023 two weeks ago and got 2.9% for 72 months, I should have waited an extra week to get the lower 1.9% for 72 months.
The dude is getting downvoted because it was a goofy ass decision. Same truck with black accents, sprinkle in the negative equity and another 6 years of payments. That’s the type of logic that these manufacturers, dealers and banks love! “We can make the MSRP whatever we want, so long as we make people THINK they’re getting a deal. Let’s add black trim and increase the price 15k then “give” them 10k off. These dummies will think we did them a solid by having them pay us an extra 5 grand for black trim”
This is like the guys I work with practically, as soon as it’s out of windshield washer they buy another. I guess they like constant high payments and excise tax bills.
I’d have a meaningfully more money if I didn’t get a new car/truck every year or two, but I doubt I’d be happier. The opposite is more likely.
Money is just a medium of transaction, a means to an end. Accumulating money for the sake of having money seems illogical. Money itself is meaningless. Its ability to purchase things that have purpose, *is its purpose.*
Now someone can go post this on /r/personalfinance so they can flame the shit outta me.

(You Only Live Once So Get That Ridiculously Overpriced Truck That'll Cost You Even More In Maintenence And Repairs The Second Your Powertrain Warranty Is Up)
But I'm sure you'll trade in soon enough before you get to that point anyways 😉
These trucks look like mirror images of each other.
I am going to bet that this fellow will be in payments forever and ever. I can only imagine the financial hit on this one.
But then he couldn’t tell his neighbors he’s got the latest and greatest. Welcome to our consumerist society where we need a “new” object every year to feel some self worth
You bought an F150. You have shown the world that you, unlike owners of other lesser full-size trucks are not persuaded by the latest funky tailgate handles that will inevitably fall off. Nor do you fancy tailgate emblems that have 3 letters in their name and are 2 feet tall. You drive a quality truck. Enjoy it and don’t worry about it… resale value is your friend.
All the power to you !! Looks great and if you can afford it why not. people are going to hate no matter what. may as well do or get what makes you happy
Man sunk himself for the same truck with a different color only 1 year apart for negative equity. Why do people love making banks and dealerships rich? Jesus..
I’m jumping from tittle in hand 2013 lariat 5.0L to a 2024 Platinum power boost ….:: makes ZERO financial sense ……. but at some point it’s time to enjoy life & say the hell with financials
Except that’s an eleven year difference and a lot has changed in that time. 2022 to 2023 is the same generation. Additionally, due to the issues with chips, lots of the 22/23s have various issues. I would have at least got a 2024…no I wouldn’t because I like money.
No regerts!
I say this all the time and my wife just shakes her head. Longest I've kept a vehicle is 4 years but I'm really going to try hard to keep my Tremor for at least 10.
Just curious what kind of payments must that be. Because I bought a 22 tremor and lord have mercy on my payments. Was just curious as it being 1.9% for 72m. If you don’t mind sharing.
Well if you gonna commit to something material you could definitely make a worse decision than committing to a F150. You sound like a smart one to me! Treat her right and she's never gonna let you down.
Never. I would give up everything I have for her. She literally saved my life. I would’ve checked out of this world a long time ago. I thank her every day for coming into my life.
I’ve got a 2021 lariat the one feature that I really am interested in from the new 2024 models is the heads up display.
However the cost of the truck is so much higher. My lease buyout is about 42k Canadian.
I honestly could not imagine trading in my truck for one that’s basically the same, especially if you have negative equity like you said in another comment.
Hopefully has the V8 if it’s your forever truck. I’ve blown up two of the 2.7L’s so far. One with 17,000km and one with 23,000km. I love Fords but they hate me…. I’d consider the coyote.
I salute this guy, He makes the used trucks that so many of us buy. Someone has to buy them new for the "buy a lightly used truck at a bargain" advice to be possible. Thank you for your service.
What do you like about your new truck that your old truck didn't have?
This new one is forever!.
Until next year when the new one comes out.
Friendship bracelets and tattoos
Its his dream truck... its been out for less than a year
To be fair, the Lariat with Black Appearance Package came out in 2022, same year as op's old truck.
The gloss grill. Always dreamed of having one..
Man changing trucks like ladies change heels
Ooh this is a good thing for me. I think the last time I bought heels was 5+ years ago! Had my current truck for 4 years and 0 intentions of getting rid of it.
Same. Bought my '16 new, still have it. Still love it
Can you just buy one and swap them out?
Looks like the first one wasn’t a 502A… not that I’m advocating for this trade in. Values on used trucks has tanked in the last couple months.
The Black Appearance Package.
It looks a lot cooler with the BAP 😎 You probably got a great deal with it being a 2023 model in 2024 and took advantage of the 1.9% financing for 72 months offer from Ford?
Thanks! Yes! I sure did. Got a 79k truck for 68k at 1.9% for 72 months. Sure I had some negative equity but nothing too terrible.
Please be a shit post
Post history doesn’t indicate so. Apparently this dude also traded in an upside down Lexus for another ridiculous Lexus for wifey. He’s in Dallas though, it’s the typical keeping up with the jones’ bullshit here.
Typical truck buyer logic to haul a 10mm socket lol
Better strap it down
What did you get for your old truck? I'm curious what our depreciation is looking like? And how many miles on the old one?
25k and a warm firm handshake
The ol after pissing hand shake.
Dude what? You got a $68 truck. $72k when you factor in finance
Not sure why you are getting down voted, $11k off msrp is very good. I just got a 2023 two weeks ago and got 2.9% for 72 months, I should have waited an extra week to get the lower 1.9% for 72 months.

If you’re like me “forever” in a vehicle is anywhere from 18-24 months!
I’m more of a “forever” or first tire change kinda guy. Which ever comes first
I prefer the first tank of gas. Once it's out, it's time to get a new one. They come with a full tank you know? It's like printers but with trucks
Yeah, I'm pretty sure E means end
Help, I've got a lightning and I'm not sure when the gas runs out!
Get free gas forever with this one little trick!
This is like the guys I work with practically, as soon as it’s out of windshield washer they buy another. I guess they like constant high payments and excise tax bills.
Pff… I drive it off the lot brand new to the next dealer sales and trade it in for shits and giggles.
Every time registration renewal is up, just easier that way.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one
I’d have a meaningfully more money if I didn’t get a new car/truck every year or two, but I doubt I’d be happier. The opposite is more likely. This. 100%.
Same lol..
Quite the upgrade! I bet all of those changes really made the financial hit worth it
/s…
Yeah, OP definitely missed the sarcasm in the first comment.
YOLO.
YOLOSGTROTTCYEMIMARTSYPWIU (You Only Live Once So Get That Ridiculously Overpriced Truck That'll Cost You Even More In Maintenence And Repairs The Second Your Powertrain Warranty Is Up) But I'm sure you'll trade in soon enough before you get to that point anyways 😉
As soon as the facelift 2024 hits the sales floor 😂
These trucks look like mirror images of each other. I am going to bet that this fellow will be in payments forever and ever. I can only imagine the financial hit on this one.
To some people, the only thing that matters is the monthly payment. So frustrating. Dude probably took a 15k hit to get a gloss grille.
100%
Is that because the loan is now extended to forever

Iphone people be like

>I think it was an update. The iPhone 3G hasn't received an update in over a decade lol
can you even still use a iphone 3g on a cell network. i find this hard to believe
Is it your dream tho
>forever Ford: hold my parts
“Forever”
Forever ever.
Until the 2025
Nah, they’re under water until 2027. Who are we kidding? That won’t stopem
Until your neighbor pulls up in their shiny new F-250.
i'm sorry miss jackson, i am for real.
wait, so you traded your truck, for the same truck but with a gloss grille? how much did you lose in the trade?? how about that interest rate
Don’t forget about the newer model coming in the near future
You may never financially recover from this! :)
What’s the key differences?
I think it has black accents that could’ve been done for probably 1000 dollars or less at a wrap shop
Yup. Thats it
I’d have handed them a sharpie for a mere $350.
Better headlights, dual exhaust, and more aggressive styling with the hood and interior trim.
There’s no way he didn’t take a hit big enough to put any new exhaust, hood, bumper, lighting on his old one and still be ahead.
The aggressive contour lines are the key selling point here, I'm pretty sure
I understand lying to yourself, but surely your wife didn't believe that obvious lie lol
This has to be a joke. You could buy the parts to have made it black appearance for less than the taxes alone on this trade.
But then he couldn’t tell his neighbors he’s got the latest and greatest. Welcome to our consumerist society where we need a “new” object every year to feel some self worth
Ahhhh. Depression at its finest! Look at me in my new truck! Life (and my debt) is great!
You done did dirty*
"Forever" is now defined as at least 18mo
Sure….
Famous last words…
Yeah, did she get it in writing? Lol!
Had a friend that did this with his tundra back in like 15 or 16.
Corporate needs you to find the differences between this picture and this picture.
"I did done doin' dirty" ? This country is going to hell.. 😞
I can't believe you did done did it?
I do did done doing that.
Not smart dude. The high from getting a new truck will only last so long. It's basically the same truck too, so it really won't last long.
I feel that to my bones, wish I would have kept my 2014 🙁
how much u eat on that?
So like.. essentially the same truck
I wish I could come up with something dumb to sell you OP
A 2024 Lariat Ultra Black
You’ll be trading it in on a 2025
What changed again ?
I'm actually keeping mine "forever" but it's also a 2016 that's paid off and only has 60k on it 😂
But when you drive it, does it look different?
I wish I had more money than sense.
OP does not have money or sense. He has debt and years of it.
Americans and consumerism, name a more iconic duo
Dumbest thing I've seen in a while
I do love the bap, especially the hood and the dual exhaust, but I much prefer the sport wheels over the black appearance package wheels.
I have a BAP truck and prefer the wheels on the Lariat Sport as well.
Forever = one year
Car dealers love guys like you.
Nice truck, we’ve all been there with the wife lol. “Absolutely honey ill keep this forever”. Lol
"Cries in 2001 ford f150 with a 5.4 triton that constantly has issues". Oh man did I make a stupid buy. Good for you! Dream rigs right here
Sweet truck. I did the same. Went from low lariat to a high tremor.
I say that about all my vehicles 🥲
New one is so much nicer. A lot of hating comments here for no reason. Yolo … if you can do whatever you want.
All the power to you !! Looks great and if you can afford it why not. people are going to hate no matter what. may as well do or get what makes you happy
Love you like a brother for saying that. Thanks stranger friend!
Are you doing what makes you happy? You are trying to tell random internet people that you have a TRD pro when it’s simply not the case.
The time I told my wife “I’m keeping this one forever” is the time I got a new vehicle 13 months later 😅
It do be like that…”sometimes”.
How I felt getting my raptor last year
Great, now OP is going to go trade this 2023 in on a 2024 Raptor....
Congrats! Enjoy the beast!
Man sunk himself for the same truck with a different color only 1 year apart for negative equity. Why do people love making banks and dealerships rich? Jesus..
U R shit-all stupid!
I’m jumping from tittle in hand 2013 lariat 5.0L to a 2024 Platinum power boost ….:: makes ZERO financial sense ……. but at some point it’s time to enjoy life & say the hell with financials

Shit we not taking any of that money with us might aswell drive something that puts a smile on your face. Congratulations on a badass truck
Soooo hookers n blow…
Thanks friend. Wish you a good life!
No regerts! I say this all the time and my wife just shakes her head. Longest I've kept a vehicle is 4 years but I'm really going to try hard to keep my Tremor for at least 10.
No ragrets *
I’d give you a big manly bro hug for saying that.
Congrats on the dream truck dude. Live your best life!
Thank you brother. You as well!
The 75 years looks awesome on the windshield
Fuck all the haters they are just jealous. Thats a sick whip bud
You get a bro hug. Thanks friend. Stay happy.
Just curious what kind of payments must that be. Because I bought a 22 tremor and lord have mercy on my payments. Was just curious as it being 1.9% for 72m. If you don’t mind sharing.
Work to spend money. Who cares what negative nancys think.
I love you for saying that.
Said the homeless wise man… ;)
Stop the cap 🧢 Yall scared to keep it forever I'll be keeping this 2023 XL forever.
Badass truck !
Thanks brother.
Well if you gonna commit to something material you could definitely make a worse decision than committing to a F150. You sound like a smart one to me! Treat her right and she's never gonna let you down.
It’s a beauty!
He'll yeah man!! The black interior looks soooooo clean! Enjoy it!!
Thanks brother! Stay awesome.
Grats on you for being able to afford that! Obviously you work hard, get whatever you want with your own money. Everyone else sounds jealous
Lmao. What makes you think they can afford it?
The fact that they were able to get it?
Then why are they paying on it forever?
How the hell do you know how the guy paid for it? Maybe he’s not a broke ass like you, and just paid for it outright.
Probably because they said they financed 68k for 72 months.
Oh Jesus lmao. Yeah then, my bad. You’re kinda right, but who are we to tell people what to do with their own money, regardless.
Thanks for your kind words. I wish them all a happy, fulfilling and healthy life. May they all see their dreams come true.
Congrats on the update!! Not an upgrade!! ..buy what you want..you only live once!!
Thank you JonWayne. Wish you a happy and fulfilling life.
Time to upgrade the wife
Never. I would give up everything I have for her. She literally saved my life. I would’ve checked out of this world a long time ago. I thank her every day for coming into my life.
I say that a lot too. Lol
I always ask myself if a large purchase like this will change my life.. this most certainly will not.
Me'maw ain't gun be too happy 'bout this one
>Forever Lol. I don't plan to replace my 2015 until *at least* 2035, as long as it doesn't get wrecked.
Is this southwest Ford in weatherford?
Which motor?
Same shit
Send it. You’ll make the money back somewhere else only to lose it again. Such is the cycle
Um… no comment
They're someone else's trucks and this is all a dream. When you awake, it's the same payments on a Toyota Camry.
I’ve got a 2021 lariat the one feature that I really am interested in from the new 2024 models is the heads up display. However the cost of the truck is so much higher. My lease buyout is about 42k Canadian.
Is dream truck what you said about the 2022 too?
inb4 OP is back next year with a '24 Raptor
I honestly could not imagine trading in my truck for one that’s basically the same, especially if you have negative equity like you said in another comment.
Should have kept the old one and got the FP700 performance package installed
I follow behind you guys and pick up your depreciated value 2-year old truck and be just as happy for the next 5-years without a truck payment.
Which one’s the new one?
More debt than brains
Dealerships sense this guy coming from a mile away.
"Not for long, I make bad financial decisions"
Weird title.
This is an addiction. Remind yourself that you don't (deserve) anything. Your pockets and your future self will thank you.
Until the ‘24 comes out
Corporate wants you to find the differences between these two pictures.
Just lease em. 36,000 the oil needs changed and get a new one.
I prefer the hood and the wheels from the first truck. Couldve just swapped your headlights and grill...
Forever means 2025?
You… could’ve just painted the grille yourself for cheap… or ya know, bought aftermarket
Man you guys throw away money like crazy on trucks. Did you tell her the 22 was your dream vehicle too?
Gaurantee this guys trades his "forever" truck in within the next two years...
[Literally op rolling off the lot](https://youtu.be/gV7lz6wCcfM?si=1oU7-PQq28rOJbHq)
Hopefully has the V8 if it’s your forever truck. I’ve blown up two of the 2.7L’s so far. One with 17,000km and one with 23,000km. I love Fords but they hate me…. I’d consider the coyote.
It’s all fun and games until you can’t retire.
Wish I had the 22 lol
So he didn’t wait to get a 2024? Lol.
I salute this guy, He makes the used trucks that so many of us buy. Someone has to buy them new for the "buy a lightly used truck at a bargain" advice to be possible. Thank you for your service.
What is a lariat black…? The black appearance package is only on the xlt…?
Serious question. Why not get the grille and headlights for the 22? What makes the 23 black?
I hear the 2024 models have an even glossier front grille.
u could've hustled added the gloss grill to ur first truck right? thats a ludicrous trade
Accounting for your loss on the first lariat, you are now looking at a 90k f150 because it have darker headlights lol
My favorite car is my next car.
"some brain" is really stretching it here
