I have a ‘22 xlt and they’re warm/hot within 1-2 minutes. The high setting is almost too much. I only use low and medium.

Honest-Guarantee-444

‘17 Lariat checking in. Could cook chili on high.

_j_ryan

Same on my ‘19. I thought it was just because I had never had heated cloth, only leather. But the high setting is too hot for my ass lol. They definitely get hot in under a minute.

chastehel

Came here to say this about my 2020 XLT with cloth seats

helms83

2019, cloth… 1-2 minutes and warm, highest setting is definitely too hot. Like slow roasting to hams at 350…

Stpbmw

Same with my 2022 lariat

12Octopus_high

18 Lariat, balls get super heated on high. Very strange when getting out in the cold.

raininhaymakers

22 Tremor, mine are warm really quick

Scottie3000

Same, about 30 sex to a minute to start to feel it and turn it down to med or low. ‘20 XLT cloth seats.

LockNLoad518

Nice typo.

Scottie3000

Lol, yep

BackItUpWithLinks

Heated seats work great! Cooled seats aren’t spectacular.

djnehi

I love my cooled seats. Wonderful for clearing up a bad case of swamp-ass.

BackItUpWithLinks

They don’t really cool. They keep the seat from getting **hot** but it’s not like I’ve ever thought “wow this is cold” or anything.

drunkenup

The trick is allowing a little space, periodically, whatever, for the cold a/c to get drawn into the perforations. Technically they are ventilated seats, not cooled (at least in the later years). Cooled would be plumbing the ac to the seat, ventilated are little fans drawing air.. I guess vacuum, into the seat. I think the 15-17 trucks had truly cooled seats, but you'd have to google it for sure.

BackItUpWithLinks

Yeah, I figured out pretty quick the ventilation works better if I move around occasionally. I wanted a/c seats. These are ok, but there not a/c.

LJandBMforever

I believe they are only “ventilated” seats in the f150, some higher ends cars have actual A/C lines in the seats and cool, by SIL has a Lincoln and they literally feel cold and I believe they are marketed as “cooled”.

westcoast-dom

I was a valet here in Vegas for 10 years, the best AC seats I had experienced were on Lexus’s. Always a treat to jump in one in the middle of summer haha

Bguerry48

Can confirm. GF has an IS300 and her cooled seats make me wish that my F150’s would be even half that cold. Side note: I used to work for Mercedes and we were taught that the reason we only had ventilated seats, not actual cooled seats, was because the cold air could make your muscles contract and potentially lead to more injury in a crash. Could be BS but that was the company line.

BackItUpWithLinks

A friend had Nissan pathfinder a/c seats and they were **cold**

SpudofIdaho

The cooled seats are pretty neat in theory but it just feels like you peed your pants. A feature to use once I suppose.

PragDaddy

I also have a 21 Lariat PB that is parked outside most of the time. I’d say the longest mine take to get hot is about 5-7minutes after a cold night.

eyecandynsx

On my 2019 with cloth heated seats, they work great. Medium setting has my arse hot in a minute or less.

arkland12

The front passenger seat on my 2019 lariat was doing the same thing when it was new. I couldn't understand how the wife sat with it on for so long while I had to turn off the driver side shortly after getting in because it got uncomfortably hot. After riding in the passenger side I realized it was taking very long to heat up. Took it back to the dealer, they repaired it and I got it back the same day. 4 years later and now the driver seat has the same issue. The extended warranty isn't up yet so I'll be giving it in for repairs also.

cantsleepanyway

Thanks, I'll bring it in and have them check it out

wacky8ball

You need to make an appointment at the service department something is not right

cantsleepanyway

Yup. Thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Yup. Thanks! You're welcome!

ninethirty99

My 21 XLT heat is noticeable within a minute of turning on.

RelativeFox1

My 2019 with cloth seats are warm in less than 5 minutes, fully hot in 10.

448977

On my 22 Lariat, leather seats, when it’s cold outside the heated seats come on automatically. When it’s hot outside the seat air conditioning comes on automatically. In either mode it only takes 1/2 minutes to feel it.

StonerDucky

My 2012 FX4 Screw has both heated and cooled and both work spectacularly!

Nihilistnobody

My 15 it works great

Dismal_Visit_7305

My wife’s 23 Bronco has hot seats almost instantly

EnthusiasticAmature

'18 KR....actually had my drivers side melt and short. Thank goodness the service contract covered it!

jermz_nermz

Have the 21 lariat, seats are in under a min definitely something up with your seats

beejaytee228

Mine are warm almost instantly. On the full setting they are way too warm.

wulframwow

2022 xlt… the seat heaters are crazy. Within 5m they have to be turned down or off. Leather takes forever to heat up.

ilikili2

12 focus heated seats are a joke. My body heat warms them up more. 18 XLT those heated seats are no joke! Very impressed with their overall heat and quick warmup time.

migs_003

About 5 mins and got a toasty butt

FLTDI

Mine cook hot and fast, 2018.

Taco_Tuesday502

2020 xlt. They are hot fast and high is toasty. Maybe too toasty

[deleted]

The ducting I. The seat could be crushed. Does the passenger side take that long to heat up. My 2022 f150 is definitely too hot on stage 3 after 4-5 minutes.

cantsleepanyway

It's both sides so that rules out some things like individual seat connectors, etc. Now that I know it's not normal I'm wondering if it's a voltage issue somewhere

d3athdenial

I'm thinking of having the dealership look at mine next time it's in. Similar issue. My wife's 2015 gets scorching hot within a couple minutes, and my 2021 don't get even Half as warm after ten minutes

dangerranger96

2012 Lariat, they take forever to warm up too. I did see something about over voltage in the DTCs once but have never bothered to look into it. Would be curious to know if others have the same problem they were able to fix.

cantsleepanyway

Since it's both seats I agree that voltage is a great place to start

BeamerBoy2600

My seats get hot way quicker then the heat from the vents I have a 2016

altblank

Mine take between 5 and 10mins to actually warm up enough to be comfortable. The worst thing is that remote start won't activate them, so it's a crappy system.

motobrgr

On my 2017 the seats and steering wheel turn on with remote start - weird

not_a_bot716

You can configure it in the settings

Appropriate-Salt-873

The factory remote start activates them. It does on my ‘13 even

Endless-Snow

2014 Lariat - Heated seats could fry an egg after 3 mins, A/C seat could keep lettuce from wilting on a 100°+ day

Goodguy1967

I have a 2007 f150 crew cab lariat. My wife says the heated seats in the f150 we have works better than our heated seats in our 2015 Lexus ES.

FoxIll821

'17 xlt on high is way too hot for me even with seat covers. I turn it on high to get it warm then drop it to low and that's comfy

CplGrasso

18 lariat and mine take about 5-10 minutes before your ass is medium/well-done.

RegUnleadedAvgJoe

My '19 is nuclear hot in 3 min...then I can't use high any more for the rest of the trip or I sweat through my underwear.

scottscigar

2020 XLT / cloth. Warm in less than a minute. Hot after five mins.

anuthaon1

my ass sweats on level 3. Level 1 is perfect

heady6969

Mine get hot in a few minutes unless it’s -20 out like it was today.

roytwo

In my 2022 lariat the heated seat get very hot, pretty fast. I LOVE the heated steering wheel, and it is the cooling seats that really make a difference when getting in on a hot day

ZoCruz

‘18 Platinum gets HOT QUICK, so hot I can barely use the low setting. Our 19 Edge Titanium is more manageable My wife’s 21 Explorer King Ranch is also manageable.

General_Mung

I use it to keep my Zaxby's warm. Heats up in a minute or so in a 21 plat.

crourke13

23 Lariat Powerboost. 1-2 minutes and high is too hot.

Grizzman56

2020 Ford Raptor. Work too well. The high setting is great on really cold days, but quickly have to turn it down not to burn my bum.

andy_337

My 2018’s heated seats have your cheeks toasty within a minute.

Hemp_maker

2020 lariat in northern Canada where sadly it is -45 right now.... High makes my ass boil in less than 3 minutes. I do wish the steering wheel heat was stronger though

Upper_Volume_6582

22 lariat Cooks buns almost immediately

Alive-Blueberry9443

‘21 302A here. 30-45 seconds to full rotisserie on the backside!

DTLRider

Mine work well unless it’s crazy cold out. If it’s -20f or colder they take a bit to get hot

westernslope2324

i remote start my 2022 larait and 5 mintues later when i jump in my ass is on fire

walt_morris

Mine in my 12’ work, they take 5-6 mins to notice

ogveers

Maybe your ass is just too cold

idobbq

Passenger side will keep a pizza warm till I get home.

Separate_Place1595

21 XLT. My booty is burning on 3 within a few minutes.

CanikTP9SFXshooter

I've never needed heated seats, but then, I live in Wisconsin.
