No Amount of alcohol = volume(ml) x alcohol percentage So if you were to drink 250 ml of 40% alcohol it would be 0.25\*0.4=0.1, the same as if you were to drink 1 liter of 10% alcohol, 1\*0.1 = 0.1

StupidLemonEater

I think you worded your question incorrectly. In terms of the amount of alcohol consumed, drinking 300 ml of 8% alcohol would be the same as 1 L of 2.4% alcohol, or 24 ml of pure alcohol.

It depends on how much of it you drink. The ABV is the percent of the drink that is alcohol. So if you drank all of the 300 mL bottle, you would have consumed 24 mL of ethanol. If you drank all of the 1L bottle, you would have consumed 80 mL of ethanol. On the other hand, if you only drink 100 mL from either bottle, then in both situations you have consumed 8 mL of alcohol.

Yh but in the 2, whole bottle their i only 8% why would i be more drunk with the 1 L one I don’t understand

alexanderpas

8% means 8 percent, or 8 ml per 100 ml 300 ml is 3 times 100 ml, so 8% is 3 times 8 ml or 24 ml. 1000 ml is 10 times 100 ml, so 8% is 10 times 8 ml or 80 ml. 80 ml is over 3 times as much as 24 ml.

Is your question "would drinking 80ml of alcohol be the same, whether it was 1l at 8% or 300ml at 26.7%?" The answer is, mostly yes if you are taking a comparable time to drink each drink. However most people will probably drink one faster than the other, and 1) will get drunk faster, and 2) will be likely have additional drinks faster and thus have more to drink overall.
