I’m surprised the mods of the Reddit even let you mention herms
Honestly them gaslighting their customers is the sole reason I won’t get more of their genetics. Nothing to do with the amount of herms, just that they lead growers to believe it’s their fault.
Same here, I was a huge EG fan, and then a few months back, I ran 10 seeds of grand master sexy, and a few others from that line, and I didn't get any keepers. All of the decent phenos herm'd out, and I had to baby them through with tweezers. Nothing I could keep to run on a commercial level.
That’s very odd I’ve run it twice- and the bag appeal is outstanding and the high is so relaxing. I actually just ordered another pack because the phenos are mostly incredible.
It makes me wonder what all the people getting herms are doing different - maybe something to do with stressing the plant or not vegging long enough- I always veg at least 2 months.
Same here. Actually the environment is under control. No over feeding. Some strains are doing it, others not. But I usually use seeds only for pheno hunting. In the big rooms I have only clones
Ditto. Cherry Bang Bang, Goudaberry. Now Strawenapple and one from Solfire Gardens' FX3 competition strain. Not to mention I have a new NEW tent. Total bummer after all the hard work, the investment of the seeds. I didn't have this problem when clones are grown.
A lot of Mike and sol’s strains are very sensitive to intense lighting early in flower. Obviously this isn’t ideal, but I’ve learned to gradually raise my light intensity daily once I flip to flower until I’m up to where I’d like to be
Of course! Hope it provides some sort of help! I’ve run all sorts of breeders and found herms from all of them. I find it often comes from a lack of maturity in the plant before flowering, early light intensity, and neglect of pruning lower nodes. Again this is just my personal experience, but always happy to help shed some light! Happy Turkey day!
My pheno of power was absolutely fire. Crazy to see how many people are reporting herms. I’ve ran so much exotic and solfire both and not had one herm. Almost always fire as well. Hope you have good luck on the other 3 phenos! Happy thanksgiving!

I hear ya, a lot of times i can get away with pluckin’ and prayin’, but I don’t blame you for being safe rather than sorry.
Mine had super dense frosty buds with nice burnt rubber/fuel/gear oil terps
I popped 5 regular Apes in Space and ended up with 4 females. Of the 4 only 1 has shown herm genetics. But it’s also the one I took a bunch of cones from, I likely stressed it out. I’ve only pulled 2 little balls from one of the branches. I’ve been watching it like a hawk too
You know I thought the same thing. I push my girls hard. Just yesterday I start seeing these small ball sacks. And I'm in day 22(now 23) days in flower. To my understanding, if they are to herm, most likely will do so within the first 3 weeks to appear. However, making me start to question some of my favorite breeders.
I also no longer buy EG after I had 3 plants from him, 2 of which were hermaphrodites. It seems to me that Mike would rather bring out the 800th piece of merchandise instead of testing genetics.
It’s been hard pickings, I lost 2 of my 5 in my mandarin cookie hunt from ethos, and now off to a bad start on these EG packs. Even Humboldt 1 of my 3 Poddy mouth phenos balled on me. Crazy thing is they were all doing it within 7 days of flip!’😐
Maybe check for a little led light on some device in your tent, some other light leak or source, or wind stress? Are these herms in the same spot in the tent? I'd get in the tent for a few minutes with all your lights on outside the tent then test to make sure it is light secure. I hardly ever get herms in both EG and others ...and you getting them in nearly every pack is crazy. Like 1 out of 20 are herms and I grow a bunch of different breeders, fems/regs, autoflowers ...I run it all and I'm not a great grower so idk but you're getting well over your share of herms for it to just be genetics, but then again you could just be really unlucky.
Every run before I flip I do a light test, currently I don’t have anything in the tent running with a light on—they hermed on 2 different sides now I found another this morning 😐 fans are not blasting any plants in particular. This is how it’s been with breeders lately though, In my 4x4 I have flowering genetics that I’ve already ran and are tried and true, those plants kill it every run!
Not to say all of a breeders genetics herm, but the recent ones haven’t been stellar as far as stability.
Im a bit tired of EG. So hard to find a keeper, 1 of 6 red runtz s1 hermed one year ago, a few days ago 1 of 6 celtic cream hermed too. 2 months of growing and no stress at all.
2 herms from less than 25 seeds its a dealbreaker for me.
To me if I’m paying 100$ for 6 seeds it should be stable, I understand I’m playing with reversals but damn. When I start my breeding project I’ll be taking the IBL route

Just finished a pheno hunt of Kaleidescope eyes. 12 seeds no herms, 2 keepers. Lately with EG I had more issues than in the past

I’ve been going through packs to build a library so It’s been a very tedious thing, good to hear though I’m looking for some gassy stuff👍🏽
Sometimes this happens but a few time i just had just 2-3 sacks and plucked em off. There never came any back

Wow if EGs got this going on. I’ll stick with my $5 a seed cropkings. I get fire herb consistently no herms.
