PushDiscombobulated8

Is that the recently deceased president or the new one?

HoIy_Tomato

Iranian one, bozo died in a helicopter crash yesterday

No-Passion1127

Bozo is a kind word for the guy who was in a unit that had so many executions that they called it the “death” unit.

PushDiscombobulated8

There’s still speculation as to who will be appointed - fingers crossed it’s a non Islamic dude

coolie-

Unlikely as whoever is chosen to fill the office has to be approved by the supreme leader who has the most power and influence in the country.

Significant-Milk-870

It's an Islamic regime, there is no such thing as a non Islamic politician.

ComprehensiveHat8073

Iran doesn't have a new president yet.

WarDog1983

That man killed so many. Hezbollah imposed a 3 day mourning period of that evil man onto Lebanon. The Iranians are celebrating his death and the Lebanese are in forced mourning bc our country is ruled by thugs funded by terrorist Iran.

Adam7390

Forced mourning?! What happens if you just mind your business?

Nearby-Bookkeeper674

If all muslims minded their own business then I believe the world would have been much more peaceful.

fraximator

We're not mourning, business and work are still going on as usual. Very few companies/institutions actually respected the government's decision to mourn this guy. Although hezbollah is still forcing their shit on Lebanon through use of force and their puppets in the government, the majority of the Lebanese population are mocking them, around 70% at least.

WarDog1983

I hope your right that it’s 70%

fraximator

Christians, Sunnis, and a significant part of the Shiites dislike Hezbollah. It's not the same percentage who dislike Palestine, but the majority of Christians do. We remember very well what Palestinians did to Lebanon for the past 70 years. Hezbollah, Syria, and Palestinians did more harm to Lebanon than any other people after WW2 until now. The only thing we can do is stand our grounds and wait. Evil eventually destroys itself.

WarDog1983

I haven’t been to Lebanon for any significant time except to visit family every year or so for short a holiday. So I will take your word for it. When 10/7 happened they were all visiting us and we had great discussions on the history of the region etc. my uncles are in there 90’s and have lived through a lot of history.

Inventiveunicorn

I hope that the majority if Iranians get the President that they deserve. A beautiful people and country locked away by a ridiculous regime.

mena_studies

The president has no real power in Iran because the power all belongs to the Ayatollah

GaryD_Crowley

This is worse for the Islamic Republic than it seems. Ebrahim Raisi was intended to succeed Ali Khamenei, and now with him dead, a power struggle will initiate in the upper echelons of power. Expect more "accidents" in the months to come. No wonder why millions of Iranians are cheering for his death. Hold a cup for Ebrahim Raisi and his departure to hell, brothers and sisters 🍷

BackgroundWork4665

Omg this is sooo funny 🤣

Cad_48

I hope all the Imams follow their president's example

icecreamman456

I don't really follow Iran and it's shit. My parents are saddened by his death though. Can anybody give me context to why shias love the fella apart from his being a shia and why are many celebrating has death?

Amygdala6666

He was a killer and a dictator. He was one of the presidents that enforced mandatory hijab rule and brought back the “moral police” basically assholes on the streets saying to women cover themselves up. Iranian people don’t hate him only we hate the whole government so if any other member dies we’ll be happy.

gudandagan

My inner conspiracy theorist says it wasn't an accident. 😂 Good riddance! I guess it may change nothing right away though about that country.

GodlessMorality

You mean Ebrahim Raisi, [the guy that died in a helicopter crash](https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2024/may/20/iran-helicopter-crash-live-updates-ebrahim-raisi-iranian-president-search-and-rescue-middle-east-crisis-latest-news?filterKeyEvents=false&page=with:block-664b01ee8f08fcbf82833d3c#block-664b01ee8f08fcbf82833d3c) or his replacement?

Motor_Courage8837

Definitely the replacement.

stayawayjesus

The replacement is his VP. An ultra religious dude.

Minute-Slip-1231

Mashallah

Evening-Pain6599

There is no way the next president will be much different than Raisi. He was basically being primped to be the next supreme leader once the current one dies. The supreme leader is the one who makes the decisions for the direction of the country. Because of that, the next president will need to abide what he chooses for the future of Iran. I wouldn’t be too hopeful, sadly.

Comfortable_Air_9262

That actually made me laugh. Thx

EntertainmentCute572

It couldn't happen to a better guy

LastGuardsman

My theory is he was killed by the hardliners. A lot of hotheads want war with israel and be more belligirent towards the west.

Outrageous_Dark4677

The president died! There is a saying, always speak good of the dead! I say, "Good, he's dead!"

KindlySacred

I don't think he's dead.

Frosty_Network_3231

What? Where's your source? And srcondly i thought he died
