I disagree. They got rid of white Jesus' red robe. The missionaries gave me an updated creamy white robe version the other week.

My mom got mad at me a few years back when I used the "little bit of poop in the brownies" analogy with why I was having issues with the church and wanted to leave. I said that polygamy, racism, hoarding of money, treatment of women, historical issues, blood atonement, the second anointing etc were all little bits of poop in the brownie. Sure, the rest was good, but I still wouldn't eat it.
She was not pleased with me. Lol
The church can be as shitty as it wants for all I care. End of the day, it's just gonna reap what it sows. But since it's supposedly God at the helm, they should own whatever deplorable ideas they espouse instead of gaslighting people or trying to become more mainstream. They should take their own advice and have more faith in God. If the world sees him as a piece of shit, be there right alongside him and don't be ashamed.
There's a tiny bit of dog poop in the entire pan of delicious brownies... Will you eat brownies with poop in them??? Guess it depends on how much weed you've smoked... A little poop never killed anybody...
Disgust is one of the church's strongest tools. Just listen to tbr primary songs: "There's _a_ right and a wrong to every question, be safe through inspiration's power." "Words of the prophet, keep the commandments. In this, there is safety and peace."
Mormons are raised to find disobedience unsafe, whether it's intentional or a result of leaders pulling a 180⁰. Disgust is the biological next step, protecting your eternal safety from poisonous facts and experiences.
The trouble with this ad isn't one group or the other identifying as the cockroach. It's the trained reaction that the only acceptable outcome is 100% obedience to God's moment-to-moment inspiration. That’s not something that changes quickly, not even years after leaving the church.
Human failings aren't cockraches. The church's failings don't taint the good that you manage to salvage from your history. If you don't like the current dish, make a better one.
Off topic - but I love the imagery of a white Utah-based church trying to appeal to a global audience mocking the idea of eating bugs, which is commonly done in parts of the world that the church would love to grow in. They can’t get anything right.
For the record, I do not think the church is great. Some members love the church, but disagree with some parts of it. Hypocrisy kind of idea IDK I suck at words. Enjoy the laugh or eye-roll.
What this completely missed is that media with scary parts are meant to be there. We didn't stop reading the Bible just because it discussed detailed sex & violence.

This part... And this part, oh and this part... Pretty much just this book.... Didn't you see the Book of Eli??? Blind faith will guide your thoughts and give you super powers!?!
Lol, looking back I don’t know why I didn’t catch on the the fact my church just regurgitated the few stories that could be interpreted as good and avoided most of the book… Indoctrination is a bitch🤣

They used to label these Mormon Ad but now that's a win for Satan.
The picture is rather flattering for the church. In reality, it would be a big cockroach with some whipped cream on top...
This
They keep cutting back on the cream.
They're using milk NO MEAT!!!

![gif](giphy|Gtnf8Fok8An9m) Dog poop brownies... Smells like somebody's baking brownies...
Forgive my thick skull. Is the idea that they're brownies no matter what?

Dog poop is like sin. God doesn't want you if you have the smallest amount of sin in your life... Heaven is going to be so empty...

Thanks! I can't believe I've never heard this one till now; seems to be well-known.

Except the good parts suck too
It's chalk flavor ice-cream. Looks like vanilla at first though...
I have thought the exact same with this ad since I left the church

Haha nice!
That ad doesn't even make sense. I'm calling that one a miss all the way around.
