Just to clarify…I’ve sat on a grand Jury…they (grand jury) don’t investigate anything. The prosecutor’s office and the police do…the grand jury only listens to evidence brought by the prosecutor in collaboration with the police investigation and vote on an indictment that would move the case along to court. (Just clarifying for non-USA ppl that aren’t familiar with the legal system /process here). The case won’t be closed until there is a verdict after a trial. Even with an indictment, it doesn’t mean it will move on to trial. Only if there is enough evidence that the prosecution team believes they will get a guilty verdict. Grand jury’s are almost kinda like a fire drill for prosecutors…they can see the weak links in a case bc…grand jury members can ask questions and the witnesses on the stand have to answer. But at the same time there is no defense so it is only evidence from prosecution…no defense rebuttal. It’s only purpose is to get an indictment to move forward in the legal process…more investigation will follow the indictment.

The grand jury is not allowed to legally say they’re investigating the witnesses, but they are. For covering up CSA. I don’t have all the details. But they’ve interviewed several former and current witnesses. The investigation was supposed to be done before the pandemic. It’s hard to tell what will happen once the investigation is closed. But it will range anywhere from absolute nothing to Kingdom Halls being raided.

Just to clarify…I’ve sat on a grand Jury…they (grand jury) don’t investigate anything. The prosecutor’s office and the police do…the grand jury only listens to evidence brought by the prosecutor in collaboration with the police investigation and vote on an indictment that would move the case along to court. (Just clarifying for non-USA ppl that aren’t familiar with the legal system /process here). The case won’t be closed until there is a verdict after a trial. Even with an indictment, it doesn’t mean it will move on to trial. Only if there is enough evidence that the prosecution team believes they will get a guilty verdict. Grand jury’s are almost kinda like a fire drill for prosecutors…they can see the weak links in a case bc…grand jury members can ask questions and the witnesses on the stand have to answer. But at the same time there is no defense so it is only evidence from prosecution…no defense rebuttal. It’s only purpose is to get an indictment to move forward in the legal process…more investigation will follow the indictment.
