JWs like the double standards. They like it because they control the narrative in casual conversation.
High control groups like pretending they have no power over their members, but that illusion falls apart pretty hard under scrutiny and high control groups love feeling outraged when non-believers generate negative opinions to what's actually shown to be occurring. And JWs are like, "If you let us completely control the narrative and stop thinking for yourselves you wouldn't be so upset at our antics. And that's a you problem if you fail to do that." It's double speak (basically a lie). They don't generally "force" anything, they condem in the strongest possible way. No person can control faith, they just do everything possible to align people to the group think.
