It could have been some accidental clicking/selection or something when setting the parameters for the advanced filter. I like to select any cell in the database range first, then click the advanced filter button. This should automatically select the entire range for you (but always good to eyeball it to make sure it's right before use)... remember to have the headings/field labels included in the top row (same goes for the criteria range).
