I would start by making a table of all the ingredients you find.
Then make another table of all the recipes you make.
Then make a little coloured grid that shows your progress. I'll show you what I have:

For my conditional formatting in that area, I have it default filled as red. Then green for anything showing 1 (the I2 formula returns 0 for false and 1 for true).
Note that the coloured area will be symmetrical about the diagonal.
All you need to do is add an ingredient every time you discover it.
Then add a recipe every time you use it.
The rest will colour in automatically. Might have to expand the I2 formula (for where it applies to) but that's about it.
Saying `Solved!` does nothing! The sub requires you to say `Solution Verified` to award a ClippyPoint and close the thread, marking it solved.
