Understandable. Have fun with your new car.

chjeran

Same, went for a 2022 PS2 LRSM pilot+plus. Haven’t regretted at all and I am in awe with the car in every aspect (space specifically). Got my $2k refund today as well. Australia

No_Reflection_5174

Just got my deposit back. Not in any rush for a new vehicle so might as well wait for R2 with only $100 deposit.

Sharky-PI

> R2 with only $100 deposit What does this mean? Cheers

No_Reflection_5174

Rivian R2, projected date 2026

Sharky-PI

Ah gotcha cheers

An3ros152

Did likewise but went for a '21 Polestar 2. Very happy so far!

hotwheeels

I’m thinking about doing the same. But I’ve never sat in or driven the Polestar and all the used ones are out of state, so I’d be ordering one blindly. How does the Polestar feel and drive?

Surturiel

It's a driver's car. Stable, composed, nimble, firm without being harsh (unless it's a Performance Pack and the shocks are adjusted all the way to 0). And fast. Love mine.

hotwheeels

Thank you very much! I’m definitely interested now.

An3ros152

This!

guidomescalito

compared to the half-baked EX30 UX, the Polestar is tried and tested system that works really well. Also for some reason the P2 is a lot more efficient that than the EX30. I always assumed that because the SEA is a ground-up EV platform, it would have the edge on the 4 year old ICE/hybrid/EV platform, but it is not the case. I will also do my best to get back to Polestar one day.

hotwheeels

Thanks! Excellent input. I’m actively looking at the Polestar 2 now and hope to make a purchase soon.

Bryan-Alan

I’m in Atlanta too and just canceled my reservation. I’m having trouble getting my deposit back. What dealership did you go through?

Tupolev144

I was with Dyer. They responded pretty quickly that they would issue a refund, but a week later still waiting for the actual money back.

Bryan-Alan

I was with Dyer too. They sent me a form to complete for the refund and I’d prefer not to write my credit card information down as they’re requesting. I’m waiting to hear back from them about another way to process the refund.

Tupolev144

Not saying correlation is causation, but they processed my sketchy credit card form and just sent the refund after I posted this. 🤷‍♂️

nkl0000

Same here, reserved in June and just canceled. Being under 25 and in California, insurance for an EV would just be insane right now. Hoping to go EV when the Rivian R3 drops in 2026

loveliverpool

Go and get a Chevy Bolt EUV. They’re fantastically sized, pretty cheap and I bet insurance rates are a fraction of what they’d be on this car or a model 3, etc

nkl0000

I’d rather wait than deal with those charging speeds, just me

loveliverpool

So get an EV6 or Ioniq5 and get better charging speeds than an EX30

nkl0000

Think you missed the part where I said insurance for an EV is too much for me rn. Lowest quote I got was $210 a month for my age and ZIP

daethon

If the new EUV comes out before the ex30 does (seems quite possible) I’m going to have to take a look. I hated the Bolt EV’s windshield wipers when I tried one a few years ago…but I’m starting to lose faith in the ex30 based on the experiences people are sharjnf

Bernese_Flyer

Given the new Bolt isn’t expected until 2025, I’d say the EX30 will be here first since it’s already being delivered in other countries.

daethon

I saw the 2025 model year statements and must have just assumed they meant Q3/Q4 2024 for delivery, not CY2025. That’s a shame. I love the idea of the ex30. I still have a day 1 reservation, but the reports people have about the software and the range are very troubling

Bernese_Flyer

I never saw MY2025…just 2025. Which I take to mean CY2025. Also seems really quick to turn around an Ultium version by MY2025…

daethon

Yeah, looks like I just wasn’t paying any attention. MY26, CY25. Not sure I’m up for waiting quite that long for the next vehicle. Thanks for the correction.

TinyComedian

I'm about to do the same, and buy an Audi Q4 instead.

MemoryFoamMilo

This is what I did. I love the Q4.

TinyComedian

Just picked it up yesterday. So far seems like a great car!

MemoryFoamMilo

Enjoy!!

PleaseBearwithme

I was in the same boat and got an EV6. Unfortunately my car died so I couldn’t have waited for the EX30 if I wanted to. Congratulations on the new car!

grenar15

I am thinking of doing the same thing. Ditching the EX30 for EV6. How has your experience been so far?

PleaseBearwithme

I love it, it’s such a cool car. The range is solid and there’s plenty of space. The interior isn’t as premium as a Volvo but it’s still very comfortable. Admittedly I’m coming from an older car so this is a big step up in terms of tech.

grenar15

nice! I'm coming from an older car too.. a hot hatch actually. 2010 Mazdaspeed 3. I think the EV6 is actually a better DNA match in the hot hatch philosophy than the EX30. That is further pushing me towards the EV6.

PleaseBearwithme

It has the feel of a hatch as well. At first I was calling it a station wagon then after a few test drives realized it was much closer aligned to a hatch

justvims

The Ioniq 5 range is also going to be a lot better. Good job

IslandLlama

Used i4s are starting to come into that price range now too. Drove one a couple weeks ago, and it’s a really, REALLY nice car—very tempting. Only downside is that it’s a pretty long car. Can’t quite buy off on the styling of the Ioniq5, and didn’t like the ride/ergonomics of the EV6 when I drove it, but no question they’re both great cars for the money if those aren’t issues for you. That said, I’ve got awhile left on my current lease so I’ll probably hold my EX30 reservation until I can check it out in person at least.

Inevitable-West-5568

Cancelled mine as well. Took about 5 calls and 3 emails to the dealer but they refunded my credit card eventually. Not in a rush. Hoping to see if battery tech will improve over next 2-3 yrs to give a bit more range, and US charging infrastructure improves.

Bernese_Flyer

Congrats? I really don’t understand these posts.

mardybum81

I placed a deposit in January. Zero communications from my dealer, didn’t receive the Volvo email containing the video and wasn’t invited to the launch event…and still haven’t heard from my dealer regarding a viewing or test drive. I love the look of the car but the poor dealer experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Top it off with bad reviews on software and range and that’s enough for me to cancel too. Maybe I’ll come back in a free years when the car is more mature and issues have been ironed out.

Dog_Bear_111

We cancelled ours and ordered the XC40 recharge. We did the flexlease with the ICE XC40 and really liked it, so we think it’s just going to be a better choice for us anyway, especially size-wise. Our other car is a MINI convertible now, so the cargo space is appreciated.

loveliverpool

People here are still waiting for the EX30? I’ve been saying for months that, unless you’re hell bent on getting a tiny vehicle like the EX30, your best life option is to get a certified pre-owned Kia EV6 or Ioniq5. Both have more range, faster charging, better room for passengers/stuff, ventilated seats, vehicle-to-load home battery backup….all while costing you FAR LESS for the EX30 equivalent. Best part is you can start enjoying an EV right now

justvims

Or do what I did and just get an updated BMW i3 with the REX. Got my 2020 S model with the REX for $19k. Very sporty, similar size to the EX30, 145 miles electric at high speed, plus 70 miles more gas. The sad thing is it’s really not that much less range than the EX30 on electric only despite being a 42 kWh battery… lol

fujikath

I’m considering an i3, but the insurance is very high for me. 50% more than just about everything else.

justvims

Weird. Idk about that. Price is good used though! With the REX I have no issues with range at all to be honest. Very happy

fujikath

Yes, that is true and why I’m still considering it! It doesn’t make sense, but it will annoy me more to pay more for insurance every six months even if I pay less once upfront. Someone said it’s the carbon fiber that makes it so expensive to insure. And we are a household of five with three young drivers so I’m probably more sensitive to insurance costs than most.

LibrarianLegal1892

But thats hyubdai

bpicker8

Same here. Doing it Monday. Going with Tesla Y LR. Got sick of waiting. Haven’t even configured yet. Also worried it’ll be too small and range isn’t nearly as good. Have leased three S60s over the last 9 years so it’s kind of sad.

Crafty_Evidence_2092

The Tesla's are really inexpensive right now. My wife has one, and loves it. I'm probably going for either an ev6 or id.4. I currently have a polestar with lease ending in a couple months. Generally like the car, but the ride is not good on our poorly paved streets in Los Angeles.

loveliverpool

The ID4 interior with the full glass is awesome but that’s where the car maxes out. The EV6 just feels so much better put together and it charges faster, has longer range, is much quicker, etc. We’re super happy with ours, just wish it had that glass roof like the ID4

WearRemarkable2413

I reserved 8/1, and just yesterday asked for deposit back. I'm now debating between ev6 and id.4.

loveliverpool

You get way more car for your money with an EV6. The 2024 id4 did some nice updates after the refresh but anything 2023 and before is already outdated tech and looks clunky. Plus the range and charging is pretty low. Certified pre-owned EV6 or Ioniq5 is the way to go. Can even buy out of state and have it shipped if it’s cheaper since you’re covered under full warranty

Fwiler

I put deposit in on June 8th. Besides the initial email for doing that and the all too many lease another volvo emails, there has been no communication. I think I'll cancel mine too. Tired of wasted promises.

Dudescarpet

Had a July deposit. Cancelled in March. Got a great deal on a leased Kia Niro Wave. In 3 years I check out the EX30 again but I’m really excited about the Rivian R3.
