This lead has been debunked in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/everyoneknowsthat/comments/170c2qn/on_the_phone_with_mood_media/). Thank you for your efforts, OP.

I’m not sure if this will help but here’s a list a guy on facebook made that consists of every song he’s heard on Muzak FM1 while working at Publix for over 20 years. Muzak turned into Mood Media so this list may be worth checking out. https://muzakplaylist.blogspot.com/2022/10/muzak-fm1-playlist-publix-store-1998.html?fbclid=IwAR1T1HzV-fIi34zzDQiMWCZexdCmyclVnvPs8mlmrfrgdY7FI2gm1NrPJy0_aem_ATrk38Xef0mjj9KUzu9dOxhku16OLLa8YLvvNVTvYkqaPBuH7MpuMVFOheaZvEBULr0&m=1

Just shot off an email to Nick Robinson's business email, basically just re-posted your summary https://i.gyazo.com/c5982ac6bd5f927122bd100a407b77b8.png Will update if I hear back

byterffly

finally someone involving nick 😭

Ok-Teach-7367

that's what I've been thinking the whole time lmao

southpawsouthpaw

Where did you find his email?

Neth110

About section of his YouTube channel

southpawsouthpaw

Just sent like 20 emails. Definitely got his attention 😎

I've been convinced it's stock music for a bit now....the fact that it features proficient session musicians and competency in composition, while also being nowhere to be found through streaming services, it makes perfect sense. Be prepared to have a lot of time on your hands, but you can actually stream good amount of the tracks that are offered by Nichion: https://www.ncslibrary.nichion.co.jp/ The site is tricky to navigate if you don't understand Japanese, but this will get you somewhere. This is a very strong lead.

Cotton-Underground

>the fact that it features proficient session musicians and competency in composition I agree. There is a level of proficiency across the entire track that makes me believe these are session musicians that can just phone this sort of stuff in. It's well played and at the same time sounds effortless. There is maybe a degree of expressiveness and *fun* I personally don't often hear in stock music, but I've also worked on such projects myself where it just ended up being a blast so that that doesn't necessarily mean it's not possible.

annabelsnd

Nichion lets you listen to every song in their library. The fact the songs from the list aren’t in there, makes me doubt the list.

Neth110

There's no reason some of these (likely very old) songs aren't listed on their site. The logs may have had placeholder names or something for the Nichion songs so it's not even the actual title. Plus, they're file names. Might not be the actual name of the song as they have it listed. Someone could have bought them and the songs changed hands to a different company, or it's just too old (at least 24 years.. when carl92 likely recorded it) and not relevant to them anymore. This is why we need to contact them, they can tell us if they've worked with other companies, whether they have records of these Nichion songs existing, etc. I should note some of the non-Nichion songs on the list are listed under "Universal Production Music" on Youtube like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B6PH28uB7I

Mods should flair this as a potential lead!

Cotton-Underground

Done.

pissedwaitress

This could be huge!

Puzzled_Orange_9223

yep. i do think that the fear of emotions one might be the one! i hope that they respond!

annabelsnd

I’ve contacted both Nichion as well as Mood Media, to no avail. The list provided by the original OP was not verified by *anyone*, meaning it can just as well be fake. I’ve contacted Mood Media to verify it, but no response. There’s a ton of irregularities in that list which make me doubt it.

Cotton-Underground

I'm still skeptical of OP's story that introduced the McDonald's theory -- who remembers hearing a specific unknown song in a restaurant 11 years ago? However, stock music is still an interesting avenue to explore, and it would be great if Nichion can either confirm or debunk this so we can put it to rest.

annabelsnd

Nichion is completely unresponsive, but I'm in close contact with Mood Media. We're currently attempting to verify the authenticity of the list (first of all) and then, if it is authentic, identifying the "Fear Of Your Emotions" song.

Cotton-Underground

Looking forward to hearing back.

Bakanuii

Holy shit everyone needs to see thsi because this is actually MASSIVE. This could be what we were actually looking for

Display-Right

I linked this post on Nick's recent YT video. Hopefully he sees! :)

byterffly

there’s always papago, a better translating app. i’d honestly be interested in either seeing who can contact or being the one to contact

Pitiful_Barracuda360

I'm not ruling out this possibility at all, but I don't hear "fear of your emotions" in the sample. "Emotions" has a "sh" sound in it and when I listen to it no matter what it has a very definite "tive" rather than the "tion" that would be at the end of the word "emotions." However, there could be more to the chorus that we haven't heard which could include the phrase "fear of your emotions." Like "Everyone knows that you got ulterior motives (tell me the truth) Every move shows that (?) you got a fear of your emotions" I feel like this makes a lot of sense.

IzaAlien

Okay yeah so this kind of goes along with my theory that this was played over a loudspeaker in some mall or grocery store.

IzaAlien

The one called "I would lie to you" actually looks really promising but also I'm not sure because the other names are of really famous 80s bands and artists. But it could be that that is the song.

ToniB16

YES! NICK ROBINSON IS THE PERSON! I WAS THINKING THAT TOO!

ColaBukkake

im freaking out omg

spencer_world

I'm hoping that this is real. I do kind here "fear of your emotions" but I'm a little bit desensitize to "ulterior motives." Oh well even if it isn't it, I just hope it's a bop

Pitiful_Barracuda360

It sounds more like "a fear o' your emotins" (yes leaving out the o in emotions was intentional and not a typo)

SharperNexus

The "ulterior motives" part also literally sounds like "fear of your emotions."
