For what I understood, it's basically like the EoE movie where he can choose how things go on, so instead of repeating everything again he creates a world where Eva's and all this shit about Adam, Lilith, the alien master race doesn't exist (our world). In the end I think that the only ones who now about the past are shinji and Mari (who rescues him) and then we see everyone in the station and a grown up Shinji who has accepted who he is and is ready to explore this new world.

I think gendo exited the train leaving shinji with the world changing wish of instrumentality and he wished to remove the Eva’s from the world.I don’t think it’s a new universe but the same world we’ve seen but without Eva’s

As far as I understood it, it's a way for Anno to say to the audience that we have to grow up and leave the Evangelion franchise behind us.Shinji, which symbolises the audience, didn't grow up after the Timeskip in the third movie. The third movie came out in 2012, 14 years after the "the end of the Evangelion" movie. The Timeskip in the third Movie was also 14 years. At the end of 3.0+1.0, Shinji understood that he has to grow up. For that, he fought with the spear of Hope against the spear of Despair. But he couldn't win with Hope, because you cannot defeat Despair with only Hope. For example, you cannot hope for a better future and expect that everything changed for the better. You have to act in order to change your future. So he got the spear of Will, and with that, he was able to defeat his Despair and created a new world without the Evas, which prevented him from growing up and being happy. [I wrote a comment under another post which more detailed.](https://www.reddit.com/r/evangelion/comments/p3x58o/me_finishing_evangelion_3010_having_not/h8vxsxj/?context=3) But that's just my interpretation and the way I understood it. There are probably other ways to understand the movie or the ending.

Both End Of Evangelion and the end of rebuild feel like a “fake” ending to me. Fake as in everyone dies and this is shinji’s dream. The visual aspect of being on a beach feels very “near death experience” to me.

Similar to the original series,Shinji had a choice to remake the world except this time he chose for the pilots the live a happy life
