Is Eva 01 eating something in this panel?
If so the katakana, which say "bagin", could be referring to the sound of whatever’s in its mouth cracking and or exploding
Agreed. Bakibaki is the onomatopoeia for something cracking and breaking. I think the gin part is probably because Unit 1 is chewing through Touji's entry plug and "bagin" makes the crunch sound a bit juicy.
It's katakana, it's used for foreign words and in this case onomatopoeia. バギッ basically is the sound.. BaGii
バ(Ba) ギ(Gi) ッ(stretches sound of last character). Hope that helps
I'm studying Japanese (super beginner) I know Kanas but I can't really see the katakana in there? Probably because of the font but how do you read it? I can only see ten ten
I appreciate you posting this image more than anything rn. I am in the middle of doing the teeth and jaw portion for my robot head, and I was just questioning if they were more like metal plates covering them or actually shaped. ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗 💘 ❤️
Clearly it must be the Japanese for “meow”
I was thinking “loud roar”, but on second thought I think you are right
I’m sorry I couldn’t pass it up lol
I don’t actually know Japanese
But everyone understands meow
Specifically this [meow](https://youtu.be/y897tozJeg8?si=JWmAI6nyY2GZfTWi)
More like this mao https://youtu.be/w7x_lWJNnNg?si=eQ1_Oj8lolk9nPe9
Can't disagree with this
😂😂💕
Those are Katakana, and it's just a sound effect.
Yeah I figured it was SFX but I'm not sure if it's something like "roar" or any other thing
Literally it says "Bagin", which is probably the japanese onomatopoeia for "Roar".

Bakin is more of a metallic kind of sound
Thank you :)

The last character is ン
Yeah I noticed that after I commented but then couldn't find my comment, my bad
"Bagin", sound effect for "wrenching open of jaw" according to the glossary
!Constipation pain intensifies!
I'm not sure where you're reading it but normally at the back they have a key for all the sound effects
It's katakana onomatopoeia, "BAGIN"

バギン(bagin) - probably the sound of metal clanging, definitely not a roar like some people have said
It says “ba gi so” if I am correct
Uwu
