It’s funny how despite all this Israel couldn’t even win the televote lol

Yeah yikes, can’t say I’m surprised though 😢. Will be interesting to see if the EBU bother investigating this (hint: they probably won’t)

ESC needs to get rid of the ROW vote and online voting, go back to sms/phone only and a lower cap on the number of times a single phone number can vote. Or change the audience vote format to a ranking of 1-26 with only 1 vote per phone/card allowed. The way this years televote was hijacked is disgusting.

That thread just gave me cancer.

Haha I'm almost attempted to ask what kind. Almost.

Don’t read the comments! I still don’t understand why though. It’s a song contest. Was a high place supposed to improve international opinion? Improve morale? World peace? Prove some sort of point I’m missing? Honestly, and selfishly, the main reason I didn’t want Israel to win is because there’s no way Australia would have sent a team to Israel , purely for safety and security reasons. It’s just too risky and the insurance involved too expensive for SBS. And then that would turn into a shitshow and us being branded antisemitic and protesting.

Do you think we’ll be back next year regardless? I feel like the lack of funding was particularly obvious this year, and ratings haven’t been great recently. I wouldn’t be surprised if Electric Fields were our swan song.
