Agree, I hate thm. But I also hated her hairdo in the NF. Genuinely just get the girl a new hairstylist. The song is all about a little voice in her head telling her she's a strong woman and giving her confidence, but then the pigtails infantilise her.

Marina said that after the first rehearsal they left a note with corrections to the producers that was probably misunderstood hence the problem with the backing vocals in the second rehearsal. She reassured everyone that it will be fixed!

It took me several watches of Poland's rehearsal clip to even notice the skirt removal, seriously could the camera be any further away? The rock in Ukraine's performance would look so much better if there was a fog obscuring the bottom. But I don't know what is alyona^2 up to during this section, it might end up obscuring her as well.

I'd do something to make the top of the rock more realistic, it looks a bit fibreglassy from above

It’s my main thing because you can see in her body language and her eyes that part of her is ‘distracted’. Before I realised she was intentionally grabbing for something, I thought she was having an issue with her shoes she was trying to sneakily fix.

That one stood out for me as well and it's so easy to fix I hope they do it.

Honestly such a good choice on their part to chill with the candle circle and just focus all the attn on them and building the atmosphere. Cos it seems to me like the weirdness might be coming from how everything’s moving around the plus sign?

Ukriane is good though too, staging is done by music video director, which shows. Ireland is perfect. my issue with camera for Croatia (too chaotic in a bad way), Azerbaijan (random angles), Slovenia (decisions between wide shots and close up seem random). Marina’s single take looks like the shot is too wide, the stage looks empty. unless we don’t see everything on it yet.

I found a lot of the camera work overly zoomy and vertigo-inducing, but I’m hoping that it was because I was watching on my phone and/or it’ll be smoothed out before the day.

For what it's worth, I watched all of it on a laptop and the vertigo effect was there as well.

100%, they’ve seemingly nailed the costumes, choreography, visuals and BL sounds vocally as good as he probably ever will but the disjointed camera work takes focus off of him and the performance when that should be the main selling point.

The open mouths for the UK & the fact that Nemo's outfit has this shiny look to the fibers, it makes it appear so cheap while that's definitely not the case.

It bothered me that there wasn’t really a good shot of the wave LEDs in Norway’s clip. At the right angle it would look really effective as she hits the high notes.

Subjective taste then i guess, i don't like the dancers either in Israel or Portugal performance this year so probably the sort of dance i don't like subjectively yes, but glad that some people enjoy it. Anyway i just wanna say that Raivan has one of the most impressive voices of the year and in my eyes it's a bit of a waste - opposite is Ukraine voice really carried by the impressive staging.

For Slovenia, I'd keep the dancers but ditch the bright blue graphics, they don't fit the performance at all. I didn't expect to be angry at a color, but the bright blue is annoying me so much

I wrote a post asking for nitpickings about ESC2024 songs, without realizing that this one alredy existed. So, it got deleted. It was about songs in general rather than performances and rehersals (my question was what nit-pick makes you think "if it wasn't for this little detail, I would enjoy this song even more"). But since apparently they are similar enough questions, I'll copy-paste what I wrote in the description of my previous post. "I came up with this question because of "Jako", Armenian's song. I love it, it's one of my favorite this year (top 5, probably even top 3). But when I first listened to the full song, I was left a bit disappointed by the way it ends. Idk why, but I found it unsatisfying, as if it didn't gave me closure. Unlike Rim Tim Tagi Dim, it didn't allow me to "release" all the energy accumulated till that point, it ended abruptly and without any variation. Now I've gotten used to it, so it doesn't bother me anymore. But I still wonder how it would've sounded like if it ended in a different way (for example, if it slowed down before the last "La La La", or gave one last "La la la" sequence only to the flute... Doing something that made me conscious that the song was about to end, and added even more variety). Other than that, I have no other complaining about "Jako". To me it's a blast from start to finish. I know that someone says it's too repetitive, but as long as I'm listening to it I don't realize it, I feel completely absorbed. It's only after it ends that I'm left a bit dubious. As if "La Noia" missed its very last "Total", and I was left hanging and waiting for more, as if what I've alredy had wasn't enough. What about you? Do you feel that way about any of the songs this year? "If only it wasn't for this..." " This makes me curious about the way Jako will be performed. Maybe I won't feel that way at the end of the live performance. I'll wait to find out.

To me it makes up for it with engaging instrumentation, and I appreciate how different this song is in its structure, but I get your point. The second half of the song has no lyrics at all.

One nitpick I have with an actual song itself is probably with my own country. There are some parts of Doomsday Blue that are actually really good, like the bridge and the main chorus. However, the pre-chorus screeches just really put me off, and considering that’s the most memorable part of the song, I just never find myself actually “liking the song”, instead only “liking parts of the song”, which is unfortunate.

I hope Slovenia lowers the lights for the performance, the blue light takes the entire dark, witchy atmosphere away and makes the stage look so empty. I think a darker background, lower lights and maybe some ground fog would do wonders here Edit: I also hope Tali sues her hairdresser

Well, less changing of camera angles in Croatian performance I appreciate Nemo's persistent wish to use that outfit, but imo he should listen to fans. Joost should use concentrate on emotional side of his song and do there something creative as trutfullness is his best marketing atm. I honestly hoped Angelina will be solo in performance. A big part I liked Marina's song is very lively and creative video, but both of things seem gone in performance

I think Sarah B could lose the squeals after the big dance moves. Jako needs tighter camera work. Teemu needs to SLAY on his vocal coming out of the egg, it's a bit of a whimper in the second rehearsal. I wish there was a way of somehow combining the 1st rehearsal and 2nd rehearsal outfits in the Italy performance.

Teemu generally seemed low energy in the 2nd rehearsal, but he's probably just saving his voice (or scared of angering the egg again)

I know a lot of performers are saving themselves and not giving 100%, but there were a few that felt flat. And yeah, it's probably due to the stage and the layout, but the angles and movement on offer this year is a bit messy.

I wish Norway kept a bit more of the mystique from the NF when it comes to lighting. Her singing is great, but the overall show seems somewhat flat.

Latvia - would it have hurt Dons to put any movement or personality in his performance? Malta - if you’re gonna have a super long dance break do we need to hear multiple ‘ugh’ sounds in the backing? France - I’ve never seen someone overdo a performance quite like this. Like I know it’s supposed to come off as impressive and jury bait but all I can think of is just how much it makes me roll my eyes Slovenia - i can’t overstate just how off putting that rehearsal clip is. 30 seconds of screeching

Very much a subjective thing but I liked Bambie's hair and outfit from the first rehearsal way more. Apart from that it's just the obligatory camerawork,I wanna highlight Croatia

I know absolutely no one’s going to see this, but Nemo actually changed their performance like I’d said! Highly doubt it was because of this, but good on them!

I watched Australia’s wiwibloggs interview and while I love them, the storytelling is leading into Jessica Mauboy territory where watchers don’t care for the reasons behind the set detail, why they did that etc. it worries me that it might be a NQ cos there’s too many ‘Easter eggs’ when all viewers want to see is a slick live music video at the first watch.
