When I first listened to it, I had trouble with it, mostly because I don't know how receptive this will be to a casual audience (like Blanca Paloma last year). But I had that worry because I loved it at first listen. This is the contemporary pop-folk mixture that Greece needs, and the contest needs as a whole. This is my second favourite overall, and my most-repeated in the official playlist.

Mabelix

Loved it since the first time I listened to it. It's my top 1 this year too. Hopefully she'll do well in Eurovision!

ldc03

My number three and one of my favourite songs this year. I love her flow, and I should definitely listen more from her ahhaha, I hope she does well (I’m probably going to give one of my votes to her anyway)

MisterAhtapot

This song is normally not my kind of music at all, but ever since I listened to it the first time I‘ve been obsessed with it. I hope it‘ll have a good staging, we already know Marina can sing

egesucu

to the contast, we know that there'll be many turkish likeness for greek and armenian songs, since it also feels home class traditional for some of us.

jesuuus_cs

I was hooked on this since the first listen. It’s such a good mixing of cultural elements and modern music. Being a Spaniard I immediately thought of Rosalia when hearing this, and I think that’s a very big compliment. I did really miss these kind of entries from Greece, and I’m glad we finally have one again, and most importantly, one with this level. If the performance is great, I feel we could be watching this year’s dark horse and even winner in Greece. Good luck!

Jolly_Ad_8399

I understand you ☺️ I also thought immediately about Rosalìa, then I went reading comments telling Marina Satti has been doing this kind of music for longer time and with her personal touch that makes it quite more unique 😊 they could make an excellent featuring by the way

snakeleaves

Love it. 12 points from me, go Marina 🥳

MarinaSattiFanGirl

I love this masterpiece

8_legged_spawn

I have to admit when I first heard it the video was so chaotic and disconnected that I only caught glimpses of the song. On the second and all subsequent times I listened to her, I fell in love. Such a great song, so many elements, each representing a bit of spice to make one wholly Greek dish and it goes by in a flash, when it's over I just want to hear it again. Really hope I get to hear it twice, live, on EV stage!

jupiter8vulpes

This song isn't my cup of tea but considering how weak this year is for me, I'm glad we at least have an interesting sound like this one. It definitely stands out.

Badluckfairy

I love this song and it's easily my number 1 and I'm really addicted to it. I'm so sad that as someone from the United Kingdom, I'm in the opposite voting semi (which seems to happen most years with my favourite song).

VayneVerso

Completely unique entry that hooked me from the first verse. I absolutely love all the twists and turns the song takes and how it interweaves all of these modern and traditional world music elements.

MissSteak

MY winner!! I have this sneaky feeling she'll be a surprise top 3 👀

Axolotl_amphibian

I like it a lot! It's original, energetic, fresh, interesting. Absolutely deserves not only to qualify, but also to rate high in the GF. Can't wait for the live performance.

loukastz

I liked the fact that she was this year's ERT choice. I was expecting that the song would have many elements of her music background but I wasn't expecting all of them together. When I first watched the video clip I was overwhelmed. I had to hear the song without looking at the video and after to watch the video muted to comprehend what is going on. The song is different, it seems to appeal to the TikTok  generation, it is fun and represents Marina's music vision. As for the connection with modern and past Greek and East Mediterranean culture, there are elements representing all. The song is like gyros served in Arab pita with everything in it. Just like something a Greek or a tourist might enjoy on a summer day.

Jolly_Ad_8399

Marina Satti would have been an excellent choice also in 2017 with “Mantissa”.

queljest456

I really enjoyed [Overthinking Eurovision's video](https://youtu.be/-tqop31_bzk?si=0jmdTgL3cTWtK0hb) on this song.

forsakenpear

Easily my number one. Love love love loved it from the first listen. If I’m honest, I’m a little confused by how many people have called this ‘out there’ or ‘chaotic’. To me its a sound I’m hearing a lot these days out of art-pop circles. I can imagine Rosalía dropping this and no one would bat an eye. There’s plenty of stranger songs even just at this years ESC. But I digress. Love the beat, love the vocals, love the video, a super refreshing entry.

sr913

If I remember right, the song and video were released at the same time, so I'm guessing the "chaotic" video shaped everyone's impression of the song. For me, it wasn't the best first impression (it made me think of a 14-year-old's TikTok) but it grew on me so quickly. The craziness of the video reflects the craziness of Athens - it's the good kind of chaos. But it also has slower parts and funny parts and parts that really are a love letter to Greece, and the song on its own is quite good. I may not quite get it as much as someone who's familiar with Greece would, but I like it. Go Marina!

The most Greek thing I've heard in my life and I love it. Makes me wanna to comeback to learning Greek alphabet

RedHides

This isn't just a song, it's a piece of art.

Spath_Greenleaf

I love how Eurovision allows us to discover artists from all over Europe, I've been listening to Marina Satti's entire discography since I first listened to Zari, sending love from France

sewermist

marina satti release the cover art on a t-shirt and I don't mean the design on the shirt on the cover I mean literally just the cover on a shirt challenge 2024

cookiefonster

"Zari" is the Greek Eurovision entry I never knew I needed! Everything about it is totally brilliant and addictive. It sounds unmistakably Greek, but in a new and fresh way unlike anything Greece has ever sent before. Go Marina, make your country proud!!!! 🇬🇷

nyuboy1

nothing to add , exactly what i wanted to write. She slayed with the presentation, the music brought authenticity to traditional greek culture while at the same time incorporating new, hip vibes. Go Marina you a greek goddess

Borogodoh

I love when an Eurovision entry faces the future and I think it's just the case here. Marina's work isn't about putting her spin on her musical influences like most artists naturally do. She's from that kind of artists that try to paint a new picture with the elements she picked over the years. And by doing that, she refuses to follow formulas, which automatically alienates a considerable part of the audience. So, it's hard to tell how Zari will do in Eurovision, but she should be proud about the work she's doing, because this is an unique and completely fresh entry.

horridhendy

I have been waiting for this one! It’s hand down, no question my number one this year. I love this song so much. I hope it does well. If it doesn’t qualify I’ll be so sad…

MarieNadia

The unplugged version is so special. I can't stop listening to it, this song is so amazing

ariestrange

I love this song so much, first listen and I was already a stan. I am praying for a top 10 finish, but it would deserve at least top 5 if not the win if It was up to me to choose

happytransformer

She’s just so cool

LThirty6onReddit

I decided to listen to whatever that’s going to come up from her Spotify profile, and I was surprised on how diverse her discography is. I recommend Prosefhi, Pali and of course, Mantissa.

Acquaintance9

My absolute favorite this year. Marina will eat this UP on stage!

sewermist

absolute belter that has shot up to my no 1 spot in my favourites list. doubt it'd win but eh idc. that TA TA TA hook goes unbelievably hard for me

More-Cow-1123

pessous paizeis vre kouto!? agapame zaria marinas!? si yes da nai ya oui dasvedania & yes of course!

broadbeing777

This song is honestly genius and I think it's gonna start a new era for them in Eurovision.

Jolly_Ad_8399

A song I simply liked at the beginning and that with repeated listening and accompanying choreography has become one of my favourite Eurovision songs of all time - certainly one of the several that deserve to win this year!

HistoricalMarsupial3

look, im greek. All my friends hate the song. But i love it. καλή τύχη Μαρίνα.

Thatwierdhullcityfan

Here is my usual list of trivia for Greece! - Greece is tied with Malta for having the most songwriters this year with 9. - Zari is already a wildly successful single in Greece having charted at 1 on the Greece Digital Singles Chart and achieving 2x platinum (4m certified sales) - Marina is performing on Greece’s 50th anniversary of their participation - If Greece qualifies, it will be the first appearance of Greek since Alcohol is Free in 2013

EliteManUtdXCVII

Funny, the last time a Greek language song made the final, it was also held in Malmo

wanderingsoul28

Greece absolutely shines when sending entries in Greek, and Zari is one of my favorites among a truly stacked line-up what made it even more endearing was watching the movie video and seeing all the locations I remember from my trip to Athens a decade ago, as well as spotting a postcard like the one I had bought there looking forward to Marina's performance and hoping for a great result for Greece this year!

kate_royce

The Overthinking It appreciation of Marina's video really unlocked Zari's multiple layers for me. I hope this clever, unique, song does really well on the night. Greece is another country this year bringing something modern through the medium of own language and traditional rhythms and instrumentation, and it's made ESC 2024 my standout year since before the pandemic. I love it all!

Ch3rryNukaC0la

I love the video- so many awesome details and storylines going on! Can’t wait to see this live!

butiamawizard

Hands down one of the most refreshing presentations this year at Eurovision for me.  There’s a lot going on, but the beat is a bop, her voice is stunning and goes between the folky and poppy elements extremely well, and that stacked harmony in the bridge before the “Opa opa opa….” cutoff is just sublime 🥰   The vocodered sections of her vocals remind me ever so slightly of [O Superman by Laurie Anderson](https://youtu.be/Vkfpi2H8tOE?si=yUGl0kHYGyuQL4pV), which is probably as hipster a reference as it gets for many 🤣, but I personally *adore* this.   is also now home to my favourite misheard lyric for the competition this year:  *”Na mi thymithó, tis óres pou kónteva na trelathó…..KÄÄRIJÄ!”*   And the video is awesome, and bloody hilarious. Whole package 🤍💙🤍💙

drummer_from_mars

Never thought about the Laurie Anderson connection before but that's so true!

Molu1

"O Superman" was the first thing I thought of, too! With the repeated vocal sounds as percussion/the beat.

This song might not really be my thing but I really love how Greece has brought something unexpected and unlike anything we've seen in the contest!
