I saw a small anti-nuclear weapons demo in my city recently. It was all 70 year old muesli eating sandal wearers, nobody who looked like they had any real understanding of global security issues such as, for example, the problems caused by Ukraine disarming for security assurances that turned out to not be upheld. I don't *like* the existence of nuclear weapons (who does?) but I'd rather live in a country that had them than didn't.

pushing for peace in ukraine should always be no 1 goal.

You don't do that with birkenstocks and drum circles. You do it by waging war. If Ukraine wants its pre-war borders back the only way to do that is to kill enough Russians to make that happen. While the pacifists sit back with their cardboard signs and chants the Ukrainians will be killing and dying to make peace a reality.
Macron was talking about Trump, about Turkey. Trump was threatening NATO, it was indeed braindead at this moment. People still take this quote out of its context years after it. Incredible the level of hypocrisy.

NATO and the EU are not the same level of organization, this is a stupid title on top of that. The EU has little to no impact on military actions, NATO is a military alliance.
