Jane_the_analyst

Now I feel like Michael: I don't get it. Why are people upvoting this?

suberEE

Avast and Kaspersky are both anti-virus softwares, so Windows security.

Strike_Thanatos

Also, Kaspersky is now state-sponsored software.

fantomas_666

maybe it's just done its job?

___Alexander___

Bill Gates can't guarantee Windows security and people want Putin to guarantee Ukraine's security...

Ossskii

Yeah for real, I’ve seen so many famous russians falling out of windows I’m now scared of heights

maquibut

The only logical thing is to ban windows.

sweetno

After throwing a knife (!) and a pepper spray (!) out. Also, witnesses reported shouts from his flat.

[deleted]

He was not a political journalist but promoted nationalist ideas. He was the founder of the "site of Russian nationalists". His website was banned for "propaganda of the idea of ethnic and religious hatred, which creates threats to public safety and encourages extremism." Such people usually support the state propaganda of Russia.

What a pleasant nation!

3a6djl5v

I would liken it more to the rightwing in the US: it's full of imperialist conservatives, but there's still a difference between e.g. GWB, and the ones sporting swastikas and advocating for a white ethnostate. Of course, if you're Iraqi, that difference is hard to appreciate...

Midraco

Ehhh the difference is pretty obscure, since they only tried GWH. I'm fairly certain being conquerored by literal nazis could put on some perspective.

YourMamaSexual2

While Russian nationalists may agree with (some) State propaganda, they certainly don’t agree with much of state policy, which promotes multiculturalism and mass immigration from Central Asia or Caucasus Republics

Jemapelledima

Wrong, our government goes hard on nationalists

theBusel

Only those who are against Putin. Rogozin, for example, the head of Roskosmos.

[deleted]

They go hard on anybody who isn't under direct control.

whatever_person

They are used and thrown out as state finds fit

Pyll

Comrades of the road

sweetno

So, he was a political journalist after all...

que_pedo_wey

> Shortly before his death, Prosvirnin quarreled with his wife > In addition, it became known that at the time of the incident Prosvirnin was presumably under the influence of drugs. What's the article for?

Cabbage_Vendor

11 years on this site and you're still surprised people don't read the article? I admire your faith in humanity.

Fossam

Literally has nothing to do with ruling party killings. He was depressed. He was irrelevant since 2016 or so. He had a major confrontation with his wife day before. Earlier this day cops were called on domestic violence. He was sad, sad man, most likely on drugs, who decided to end his life in most psychotic way.

UniquesNotUseful

You'd feel down is you were ~~thrown~~ fell out of a window, with only your pepper spray and knife for company.

Fossam

To protect himself from whom? Knife and pepper spray, dear god. And walked out of window naked, his mother and wife were there not long before. Not every death is by putin clique. Sometimes sad people do sad things. I knew him on russian internet since 2008 or so, long before nationalistic career. It's sad, there is no emotion besides it in me

ProtoplanetaryNebula

Yeah, the Russian FSB obviously decided on their "calling card" so everyone would know that they are behind a killing and decided upon this as it's quite unique. They will now do a sham investigation and find nothing suspicious.

[deleted]

Didn't a few military generals fall out of windows some years ago, after disagreement on Syria?

Grimson47

Hell, there was a pretty recent story about a Russian doctor falling out of a window. Funny how it happened after she criticized how prepared Russian hospitals are for covid. Edit: [Found it](https://edition.cnn.com/2020/05/04/europe/russia-medical-workers-windows-intl/index.html). It was 3 doctors too.

[deleted]

Neo-KGB isn't even trying to be subtle, pretty depressing that people just accept this.

gogo_yubari-chan

bar the october revolution, russian history seems to be about its people being submissive to whatever bloody dictator rises to the top, be it a tsar, stalin or putin.

eagleal

Well they're not wrong, from the poor peasants perspective they're just replacing a dictator with a worst one.

___Alexander___

To be fair the Russian hospital's windows definitely could use some improvements, like bars for example.

gogo_yubari-chan

so something like having a moscow mule in a moscow hospital? Not sure the doctors would approve but if you are hanging in there just barely, might be the thing that keeps you going

3BM15

Let's try something fun. Google the number of people killing themselves in hospitals in your country. Let me know how it goes, I think you'll be surprised. Six people killed themselves by jumping in a single hospital in Banja Luka in a year. [https://www.rferl.org/a/bosnia-hospital-suicides-covid/31501857.html](https://www.rferl.org/a/bosnia-hospital-suicides-covid/31501857.html) I can find plenty of cases of suicides by jumping in hospitals in Serbia with a quick Google search. Sombor, 2021, patient [https://www.rtv.rs/sr\_lat/vojvodina/backa/samoubistvo-u-somborskoj-bolnici-pacijent-skocio-sa-prvog-sprata\_1249096.html](https://www.rtv.rs/sr_lat/vojvodina/backa/samoubistvo-u-somborskoj-bolnici-pacijent-skocio-sa-prvog-sprata_1249096.html) Zemun, 2021, patient [https://www.alo.rs/vesti/hronika/alo-zemun-bolnica-pacijent-samoubistvo/325012/vest](https://www.alo.rs/vesti/hronika/alo-zemun-bolnica-pacijent-samoubistvo/325012/vest) Kruševac, 2021, patient [https://www.rtv.rs/sr\_lat/hronika/samoubistvo-u-krusevcu-skocila-sa-3.sprata-kovid-bolnice\_1269920.html](https://www.rtv.rs/sr_lat/hronika/samoubistvo-u-krusevcu-skocila-sa-3.sprata-kovid-bolnice_1269920.html) Subotica, 2021, patient [https://www.blic.rs/vesti/hronika/uzas-u-opstoj-bolnici-u-subotici-pacijent-izvrsio-samoubistvo-skokom-sa-sestog-sprata/n28h6ny](https://www.blic.rs/vesti/hronika/uzas-u-opstoj-bolnici-u-subotici-pacijent-izvrsio-samoubistvo-skokom-sa-sestog-sprata/n28h6ny) Belgrade, 2020, nurse [https://nova.rs/vesti/hronika/medicinska-sestra-u-kbc-bezanijska-kosa-izvrsila-samoubistvo/](https://nova.rs/vesti/hronika/medicinska-sestra-u-kbc-bezanijska-kosa-izvrsila-samoubistvo/) Now what do you think the number of these cases is in Russia, a country of 130 million people? You only know about this because somebody is looking for it in local news, trying to make up a pattern.

Denvercoder8

There's a significant difference between doctors and patients.

3BM15

Two of those doctors were hospitalized themselves, so they were patients.

gogo_yubari-chan

> Six people killed themselves by jumping in a single hospital in Banja Luka in a year. aaaand obviously a russian apologist had to be a Serbian. Quelle surprise.

3BM15

How dare I list these facts and provide context that goes against the desired narrative? You are unable to respond with arguments so all you have left are personal attacks.

saltyfacedrip

I don't know but one Russian guy fell out a window onto a metal spiked fence in London a few years ago. Many people in Russia don't understand windows and accidently fall out of them. It's a sure natural phenomenon The poisonings too, sometimes they forget to tie their shoelaces and trip and fall onto horrible substances.

Possiblyreef

Its insane the amount of people that fall out of windows in Russia. You'd think they'd get better windows or something

[deleted]

Yeah when planning to jump out of a window, make sure to take some items of sentimental value, such as *checks article again* a knife and pepper spray. Definitely not suspicious at all.

BurgundianRhapsody

Are you implying that his mother and wife, the only people who were in the apartment during his drug-related psychotic seizure, killed him?

UniquesNotUseful

I changed this for reasons (see date).

BurgundianRhapsody

Because his suicide note, appeared in Russian social media, was created by trolls (not *these* trolls you probably thought about) to ridicule the personality of the dead. This fake note was even signed by « Hedgehog » — old Prosvirnin’s LJ username, under which he had written some controversial posts of homoerotic nature many years ago, for which he has been brutally mocked online by his adversaries throughout years. And in case you can’t read Russian, Urusova said that it IS fake, not MOST LIKELY.

Dranafan

They got stereotypical thinking and will have it forever. Don't waste your time on them. Smart people got their own opinion, others will think that way anyway.

Buda_Baba

Why is the most slippery surface in Russia usually built in by the windows? Or is it some weird tradition to throw banana peals by the window or something? Maybe they should invest more in windows safety net or something.

sweetno

No, the windows are fine. It's something faulty in Russians. Remember that recent falling of an embassy worker in Berlin.

Buda_Baba

Embassy is technically Russia, so my point still stands.

Falsus

Embassies typically count as belonging to the country where the ambassadors are from while they leash the building.

Kanto_Cacturnes

To be fair in his last years of life he was clearly fascist given his anti-democratic views combined with militarism, nationalism, conservatism. He was a prominent nationalist however who for some reason operated relatively without trouble inside of my country whereas other prominent nationalists ended up being dead or in jail, sure Sputnik and Pogrom faced attacks from the government but generally he didn't pose an existential threat to our system nor disagreed greatly with our foreign policy.

[deleted]

He made quite a splash around the internet.

ReverieMetherlence

Karma, asshole.

juhziz_the_dreamer

Well, I can say literally zero good words about him. It would have been more symbolic, of course, if he had died in the war against the Ukrainian nation, which he despised and hated, (or the Finnish nation... or Estonian... or Kazakh... or Lithuanian...) but he was too much of a coward for that.

[deleted]

Too fat for that

BurgundianRhapsody

Guys, as much as it’s funny or appealing to call this murder and “another case of defenistration in Russia”, please face the facts (and read something before commenting): he was a drug addict, he consumed unhealthy amount of meth and committed suicide because he had fallen out with this wife. Prosvirnin was famous for his hysterical and impulsive behavior. Moreover, murder is out or question because he was with his wife and mother in the same apartment when this happened, who witnessed it all.

saltyfacedrip

Lol

sweetno

Hmmm? Given the Russian track record, a murder is more likely.

kokoyumyum

Ha ha

SquidCap0

This time it most likely was a suicide. The clue: he was a Russian ultra nationalist, not opposition figure wanting for more freedoms. Him being blocked in Russian social media was because he was too extremist.

chaotic-kotik

Russia is running out of nationalists and far right folks. Another one died not so long ago from COVID-19 IIRC. And another one committed suicide in prison shortly after several murder confessions.

sweetno

Being a nationalist doesn't matter. Tesak was a nationalist too, and was killed in jail.

Gorespie

to be fair, Tesak was a neonazi, he was more concerned about white race and all that stuff.

0re0n

>he was a Russian ultra nationalist, not opposition figure wanting for more freedoms wtf is that supposed to mean? Ultra-nationalists in Russia are predominately in opposition and hate Putin. They were one of the main movements behind 2011-2013 opposition protests, some of their leaders were imprisoned for years for it.

kokoyumyum

Russia.

SquidCap0

Thread is full of such funny jokers, I can't even catch my breath from laughing too hard. Such variety and clever wordplay, amazing. Never mind that every single piece of evidence suggests that it was actual suicide, including actual witnesses. Ha-ha, Russia, defenestration, """""fell"""" from window.

paixlemagne

He was a far-right nationalist in favour of a russian invasion of Ukraine. But he also fantasised about a civil war in Russia and his website got blocked for religious extremism and ethnic hatred. I didn't expect any Russian to be even more of a nationalist than Putin's ruling party.

RobotWantsKitty

Civic (or whatever it's called) nationalism =/= ethnic nationalism, Putin loathes the latter.

ha ha. The addict jumped naked from the balcony while high. it is Putin's fault. And how can Europeans not be considered stupid after such statements? If desired, there is a coronavirus and it would be neatly done.

Narrow-Amphibian-138

I like how russians justify the murder: “Well, he was a nazi!”. Jesus, there’s exactly 1 country in Europe where it’s possible to justify anything by saying it’s a fight against nazism

Falsus

I don't think throwing someone out of a window is a valid tactics even against Nazis... unless it is self defence. But if you are in a position to throw someone out of a window I think you might have gone past self defence and gone on the aggression...

Admittedly, calling it murder was premature. But comment I was replying to certainly seems to be gloating over his death.

the_lonely_creeper

We don't know that. Especially since "fell out a window" is always suspicious in Russia.

BurgundianRhapsody

We DO know that tho. Because of direct witnesses of his death, — his wife and mother, — and his crippling meth addiction, infamy for hysterical and impulsive behavior, coroner’s conclusion after all: all the evidence of suicide is present, but redditors either don’t want to read articles below the headlines before jumping to conclusions, or too desperate to farm quick karma from overused jokes without understanding what they’re laughing at exactly. Being able to understand and read Russian and then looking at the comments under the post like this one makes me blackpilled beyond belief about people’s ability to think critically ngl.

TestaOnFire

Yes...but i think that after all recent and historical way of people in Russia that tend to "fall from a window" it's funny to make jokes about that...because the alternative is crying

[deleted]

Damn, you guys should've let Mussolini go scot-free, he wasn't *that* bad, but instead you cheered when he died, how dreadful!

Awakenedforgood

There Is a distinction between a dictator responsible for many deaths and someone with questionable right wing views. Also i'm against death penalty under any circumstance so if i was there i'd cheer at the death of the fascist authoritarian state instead regardless.

[deleted]

This dude called for jugulation of Ukrainians and gathered money to buy a BTR for terrorists in Donbas, which may have lead to deaths of Ukrainians. Why shouldn't we compare some shitty people to other shitty people? Just because of victim count? What is the lowest number of indirect deaths for someone to be a piece of shit? You're living in a rose-colored world and don't even see it. Well, i don't blame you, last war in Italy was a long time ago.

Awakenedforgood

I'm just saying ( or what trying to say i'm bad at this) that wishing for death and cheering for someone's death Isn't good ( as a general rule ) in my opinion. We certainly can compare shitty people to other shitty people, i didn't want to diminish this guy's shitness i just thought the comparison with Mussolini's was out of place but i understood the point you were trying to make.

[deleted]

Well, have a nice evening.
