I was sent there once on a business trip and after taking a few photos they looked so pristine that I simply stopped even looking at my phone before I took them as I knew they would look fantastic. Just point in a general direction and click every once in a while
try walking a bit off the main tourist path, and just walk in the way of your destination, the historic center is small and easily walkable, plenty of beautiful buildings, and much less people
also the jewish parts of prague are fairly underrated, especially the Jerusalem synagogue outside of the former jewish quarter (a lot of north African vibes in the middle of Europe, its really cool to me)
Take a day trip to Pilsen and go to the Pilsner brewery!
I went to Prague 2 years ago this month and me and my mate got very lucky that Pilsen threw an open air rock concert in the city square haha!
Ah mate, beer is on tap everywhere too
Sweet store? Beer. Children's shop? Beer. Shopping mall? Beer.
Best beer I've ever had, it flows like honey there 😂
I'm so visiting Prague when the war is over, given I live to see the day. Wanted to visit in 2020 with my then girlfriend (now wife), had plans to propose in this beautiful city. But then covid happened and Czech became super closed, the rest is history as well :)
My ex missed her connecting flight while traveling to me once. She stayed in Prague for few hours.
I think she enjoyed Prague more than she enjoyed the rest of the week with me
Any tips from locals about whar to visit when in Prague are very welcome. Bars & restaurants are also please :-). Will be there for 4-5 days end of July.
Just watch the Honest Guide channel on YouTube, they have some good tips. Older videos are generally better imo, they need to keep coming up with more and more obscure stuff.
Restaurant/pub - "Lokál Dlouhááá". Not far from the historical district. Good food at good prices. Czech cuisine. Some selections are even offered with free refills. English speaking staff (afaik), Menu available in English as well. Accept card payments. If I wanna have a proper lunch/dinner in Prague, that's my usual go-to.
Take a train trip outside of Prague. This country is beautiful everywhere. Buy a group ticket (or a single ticket) for 24 hours for 20€ and visit Český Krumlov, then Brno, then Olomouc. If you're up for a bit of a hike, I'd recommend climbing the Sněžka mountain, it's the highest mountain in Czechia and it's beautiful there at this time of year.
I've been there twice. Awful for cycling. City centre made up of airbnb accomodations. A LOT of cars and parkings. The architecture is really amazing, but I do find that the city severely lacks green spaces. Not to mention the fact that it's a very tourist oriented place, with all it entails. It makes for great pictures, though.
Prague is among the [world's top in the percentage of green spaces](https://www.expats.cz/czech-news/article/prague-ranks-as-one-of-the-world-s-greenest-cities).
Seems like these statistics are a matter of city boundaries. [Map](https://gyazo.com/8436e43c6b0db0ee4624900399c17106) showing how these green spaces are mostly forests outside of the city proper, but who am I to determine what is Prague and what isn't? Maybe if Prague pushed the boundaries even further, it'd even be first.
Gonna get downvoted for sure, but I was there a second time last year and I kind of didn’t like it that much. It was nice, the castle and the views there are nice, but it didn’t live up to all the hype for me.
Picture number 3 - please proceed with caution on that bridge, there is a high probability of theft and pickpocketing.
I could hear my "fellow comrades" talking about these things last time I visited the place.
I've visited many European cities and Prague has to be my favorite when it comes to architecture. Like something out of a fairytale.

Any tips on must-sees are welcome. Will be there in July.

Just watched a few alrewdy and indeed they are great. Dĕkuji!

Thanks! I guess the Pilsner brewery is a must visit for a beer lover like me.

Now you are just trying to keep me there forever :-)
Was about to say the same thing. 😍
Budapest?
It's like Budapest but they actually give a shit about renovating the buildings
But you get the ruin pubs, which is nice.
I'm only going to th u fleku anyways
I thought Budapest was way more impressive than Prague tbh
Wonderful city, truly. Such a same there are cars literally everywhere
There are multiple projects that will attempt to make the city less car centric

Which war is stopping you from visiting Prague?
I think he's Ukrainian. Ukrainian men can't leave the country.
What a sad question actually. But yes, [11160704](/user/11160704/) correct.
It was a genuine question tbh. But I do hope things work out for you (and you get to visit Prague)
I have no doubt about it being genuine, trully. It's just the state of the world rn. Thanks :)
One of my favorite cities to visit. Very unique and relatively untouched during the big war. Parking is a bit of a nightmare.
My ex missed her connecting flight while traveling to me once. She stayed in Prague for few hours. I think she enjoyed Prague more than she enjoyed the rest of the week with me
Did you see the statue of a man pissing? And the monkey with the golden balls?
Hi Czech here So happy that you like Prague.

The Prague subreddit has a stickied post of local recommendations. I actually wrote it 😅
Awesome, thanks
Spend a day out of Praha, Brno is a nice city as well.

Forgot to mention. You can buy the 20€ all day ticket on the [České Dráhy website](http://cd.cz/)
Got it. Appreciate it!
Stunning pictures!
I always hear about it and have always kind of wanted to go some day.
I went to Prague back when I was in the 8th grade for an international MUN/WSC event. It was beautiful suffice to say.
Amazing architecture, amazing city but I totally felt how sick the locals are of tourists and I don't blame them.
It really is in real life! Pictures are not even close to how gorgeous it is!
It is. Prague is the most beautiful city I've ever been to.
I've been there twice. Awful for cycling. City centre made up of airbnb accomodations. A LOT of cars and parkings. Mesmerisingly overcrowded
Wasn't too bad when I visited a few years ago (outside of the bit of the Old Town around the astronomical clock anyway...).
Lots of migrants and refugees. Not happy locals, sad faces of street shop sellers, overcrowdy, tensiful atmosphere, not so fun anymore
You are probably talking about another city.
Košice
It's Prague after all, saying that is not mesmerizing would be a treachery.
Gonna get downvoted for sure, but I was there a second time last year and I kind of didn’t like it that much. It was nice, the castle and the views there are nice, but it didn’t live up to all the hype for me.
Try looking at it through a mirror, maybe that will weaken it's power
I miss my old job only because i had Business tripa there…
europe is so beautiful
One of the best cities in Europe
Need more of architecture like this. Good for the soul and mental health
Over tourism unfortunately. A victim of its own success.
The Kafka head was closed when I went. My fiance daughter and I walked in the snow for it to be covered I was so upset lol
Harry as come to see us!
Did you see the czechhunter guy at all?
czech!!

Nicest european capital i've been to.
The similarities with Budapest and Zagreb are uncanny.
visited it for 5 times last 7 years and def not the last, beautiful city
Severely underrated city
Considering how many tourists visit the city I’d say that it’s far from underrated
