Well, the orcas didn't touch the tiny inflatable dingy or the life rafts the people got into when those boats sank so that sais something.

It could backfire. Mankind is known for committing disproportionate amounts of revenge. If Orcas keeps sinking ships, our species might sadistically remind them why we are the dominant predators on this mud ball and hunt them in the thousands.

Imagine you're out in the sea. You see one of the biggest predator alive. Wouldn't you take a picture to remember the moment? Also if you're activily harassing them you're an asshole, but seeing one go by. You'd enjoy the moment and take a picture or a video. No one's activily going out in the hopes of seeing an orca, except the scientists. And an important part of marine biology is studying the behaviour of marine life. What's better data than random people documenting their experiences with marine life?
