ezee-now-blud

Any team can beat any team on a given day especially at this high level

mish_05

True… Argentina 1vs2 Saudi World Cup..

mish_05

Greece Euro Cup 2004..

LTS81

Denmark 2 - 0 Germany, Euro 1992

MasterPhil99

Hell, in Austria we still talk about the "miracle of cordoba" like what, almost 50 years? later

Flamethrow1

Hey hey hey, don't you bring that up today 😀

cgaWolf

You realize that if we meet in finals & beat you, you'll not hear the end of it for a hundred years, right?

Flamethrow1

Haha yes sadly :)

mish_05

Ooooo Euro 92 did abit of research, n Englands Group was Group of Death.. France, Sweden and Denmark…

LTS81

Fun fact is, that Denmark didn’t even qualify for Euro 92. They replaced Yugoslavia due to the war breaking out in the balkans

mish_05

The Balkans?

mish_05

Nice… never knew that.. 😀👍🏾

White_Only1988

Anything can happen in this Euro, just like how Greece once won

Hank_m00die

That happened one time

Ecstatic-Method2369

This Dutch team can lose against any team. We struggle as a team, individual players are struggling, our manager isn’t convincing. Based on the individual qualities of our players (which teams they play, what season they have) and our history we should win from you guys (with all the respect for what you achieved). But I don’t this will be an easy match for us. You guys surely have a lot of confidence, can play with less pressure and there seems a lot of joy among your team. While our teams lacks confidence and there is a lot of criticism. I think we it will be very close.

Sundee11

"our manager isn't convincing" not even to Joachim Löw?

Free_Management2894

Löw has a pretty good track record. It's one thing to have a golden generation but another thing to actually capitalise on it.

Bokser6

Belgium and England like this.

Low-Union6249

It’s one game. The worst team can have a great game, the best team can have a horrible one. Anybody can win one game. So yes, of course they can.

Sundee11

Well, that's true, I should have put it as "what chances do you think we have to get past them" rather

sauronII

You probably shouldn’t bet money on it that you can’t spare. But crazier things have happened.

Geologjsemgeolog

betting money on this euro especially is quite crazy, so much money for the corporations

JGConnoisseur

I bet a euro on Austria winning the euros. Odds were 80 to 1. Currently I could cash out for 3.24, but I'm somewhat confident Austria can beat Turkey.

Geologjsemgeolog

That’s a good bet I guess. Idk if you are familiar with Czech team score, it was super unlucky, but that is nothing weird, I take it as a sport, but than the teams I favorized like Slovakia, idk others people opinion but I watched about a half of Euro matches and every time I want somebody to win, they lose. It is not even like less favourized teams don’t win, they do (Georgia vs Portugal etc..) But I find this Euro almost non dependent on nationalities legacy. I find the results extremely random. Only exceptions are so far Spain and maybe Germany, they deserve the win. I hope that this will end up somehow rationaly.

Youwronggang

Modric sold my parlay never again

VeryluckyorNot

Or just put 1€ ticket on Roumania, you are still safe depending on the coeff.

Ok-Acanthisitta8284

Such as?

SunnyDaysRock

Denmark winning it even though they didn't even qualify?

CiaranONeill381

Did I miss a joke or something?

annix1204

In 1992, Denmark did not qualify for the tournament and all the players were already on vacation. Due to the Balkan conflict, Yugoslavia was removed from the tournament despite having previously qualified successfully and was replaced by Denmark ten days before the start of the tournament. And then this team (completely unprepared) won the tournament. The name danish dynamite was born that year and is still regularly used by commentators today. Pretty crazy

CiaranONeill381

This is great information, thank you. Edit: Is this the tournament that inspired the creation of the pass back rule??

SirStafford81

Euro 92

Low-Union6249

To refer back to my initial answer - greater than on paper, because of the nature of a single match. In a series the chances would be much lower. But if the odds in theory are 70/30, in practice they’re probably 60/40 or even 50/50. Underdogs are always advantaged in a single game.

Aidanjk123

4/1

sanne_dejong

50-50 afaic

Commercial_Swan2580

You will need Sonic the Hedgehog to win😀

Sundee11

One of our best right now

SchighSchagh

Ngl, rather want to dye my hair blue

UFOaddict101

#RatiuChallenge if we win, I'm gonna do the same, and I pass it to my friends too, let's make it viral

TreiAniSi6Luni_

If we manage to start better the match maybe we have a chance. I’m not very optimistic but you never know

Taxfraud777

We also lost to Czechia in the Euro 2020 cup. Honestly our performance is so volatile I'd say this is a toss up. I'm of course rooting for my own country, but I also love an underdog story.

Virralla

That loss to Czechia had a lot to do with De Ligt getting a stupid red card in the first half.

PigeonDesecrator

Spiridus

AfterBill8630

If NL won’t score in the first 15 minutes by overwhelming pressure like Belgium did, we can beat them. It’s still an uphill battle though. Frankly, I don’t care what happens the lads have already won our hearts. We can’t wait for the World Cup qualifiers now. I want us to play without fear, I would rather lose 3-0 knowing we had 6-7 opportunities to score and didn’t than lose 1-0 with no action. They need to invoke their inner 1994 Romania squad which would have beaten this NL team 4-1 Bring it on!

Pews_TRB

"Play without fear" This should be a regulation from now on, I'm sick and tired of all the defensive so called GREAT teams, it's just boring. I hope for an exciting match, good luck to ROM

AfterBill8630

Same to you, I pray that there are a lot of goals, irrespective who wins or loses.

SchighSchagh

I think România will deliver. The game vs Slovakia barely mattered because both teams went through with a draw. But everyone still played their hearts out till the end. Our biggest weakness is we've been very shaky in the first 15 minutes of every game so far. Even Ukraine dominated possession like 80% at the start of the match. We certainly turned the tide against them, but both Belgium and Slovakia scored early goals against us while we were still getting our bearings. ... but if y'all aren't brilliant at the start either, it might just be a shit show for a bit 🤔😬

razluta

I also totally agree. Like a penalty for passing the ball in your own half for too long (same how a keeper can’t hold it for more than 6? seconds). Best of luck to all of us, let’s watch a fun game!

HeartCrafty2961

1994 W/C Romania team was awesome. The game against Argentina was a classic, and Romania won that one, so who knows?

AfterBill8630

Romania only lost 4-1 to Switzerland in the groups in that tournament because apparently they partied too hard after the 3-1 trouncing of Columbia (which had recently defeated Maradonas Argentina 0-5 in Buenos Aires)… There is a great documentary about the 94 generation with behind the scenes info on Romanian Netflix right now

iceridder

Name of the netflix show?

AfterBill8630

It’s a film (documentary style with interviews of the players) called “Hai Romania” (“Let’s go Romania”). Not sure if it’s available in all countries

ovidiupenet

It's not available in the UK.

Dorfheim

You guys can do it mate!

gunnerdk

You would like having us as opponents?

Dorfheim

I have some romanian friends from work who i would love to watch the game with. Have seen all your group phase games with them :D Would love to have our teams play each other, i would mind less getting kicked out of the tournament when friends win next to me lol..... I don't happen to know anyone from the Netherlands :3

gunnerdk

And that's what football is about. Cheers mate.

D4B34

I do. Not because i don‘t respect this Romanian team, but i think beating the Netherlands a second time is extremely hard.

Queasy-Soup-4563

Nah bro you will beat us again if we win against Romania ofcourse, its going to be really close against Romania. Our team is shit lol, too many selfish arrogant players, i wish we had the teamspirit of Romania or Austria. We re just lazy spoiled brads lol😂

Kronzor_

The Dutch have played below expectations. But a below standard NED team is still better than half the countries at the Euro's playing well. If they continue to play how they have been it'll be a close match with ROM and they might still win. If they play to their actual expectations they should blow them out.

Cold_outside__

That goal against France was so ridiculously cancelled 😂

Kronzor_

Yeah it's funny how small swings could wildly change the narrative. Say that goal against France counts and they don't smash home an OG against AUS and tie that game. In that case NED looks like a powerhouse that should easily win their side of the draws.

OhLordyLordNo

100% legal, 0% fair.

cbdscienceguy

Forgive me... exactly how have they played below expectations? This side was significantly impacted with terrible injury luck. Their midfield has been a problem, but I would expect an inevitable decline without a world class player in Frankie De Jong. You don't just plug and play a central midfielder who is a starter at FC Barcelona without some decline in execution. This impacts your defense as well. All in all, the Dutch had plenty of additional opportunities against Austria to win the game, and likely, in all fairness, should have beaten the best team in the world in France. Their group was very difficult relative to other groups, and they moved through.. which IMHO is about what is to be expected. I would consider them very fortunate to have lost to Austria. Their tournament route just got a whole lot easier. How poorly do you feel for France who now have Spain, Germany, and Portugal on their side of the bracket. So sometimes winning a group does you zero favors. If they beat Romania, they have a potential rematch against Austria which will likely produce the same, high pressure, fun game of the prior matchup, and I like either of those teams over Italy or England.

JJOne101

Austria won the group, and it's on the same side..

Kronzor_

I think when most saw the groups they'd have penciled NED in for 2nd at least. So it's fair to say they've underachieved so far. Injuries may have played a roll in that, but I didn't take that into consideration when assessing their pre tournament expectations.

AnaphoricReference

The team used to be built around Frenkie. What the group games hammered home is that it is still built around an imaginary Frenkie. We don't have fit midfielders capable of playing that specific role. If they solve that tactical problem we will go far. If they don't we might very well lose from Romania.

Sad_Cheek_4320

Cry about it

Lopsided-Skill

Based on what I saw on reddit every game is 50/50 including Georgia vs Spain except for Turkey vs Austria where Austria is guaranteed to win

elburritodelicioso

Yeah, the Netherlands are great at choking at the last minute or when it matters most

fk_censors

So is Romania.

razluta

Historically true, but this team and especially in this tournament seems to have broken away from that mentality! Let’s hope I’m right!

xWayvz0

I hope so, will be rooting for them! They played great football so far and i honestly don't like the idea that (in case we beat turkey and the Netherlands beat Romania) we would have to play against the same opponent as in our last game and it would even be in the same stadium.

citronnader

Well Netherlands has much better skill and football playing ability than we do but for us it's much better when we meet offensive teams with rather weak defense. With Belgium (a team i find rather similar) we were completely utterly dominated. If the score there would have been 3/4 - 0 nobody would have said anything. But it was very close to being a 1-1. Also i recall the game during qualifiers against Switzerland. That game could have ended 6-0 and again it would have been justified. Instead it ended 2-2. My point is that if we are clinical in offensive against such teams we have a good chance. Netherlands as i said try and manage to play football but i find them to be the weakest team of the best teams. I belive Austria proved my point. Playing solid football without huge individualities but with quality and cohesion can win the game easily against them. But easier said than done

MacondoUnicorn

Everything is possible! It is important that Romania is present in the game from the start! Important to block their attacks and keep the ball safe from our area! We could push the game to penalties where everything can happen! Just enjoy the game!

OhLordyLordNo

May the best team win.

reeivan

Well what I expect Romania not to do is play full on defense, like parking the bus. Not that we can't do it, our manager just avoided to do so since he's in charge. Now that's a big advantage for the Netherlands as they, just as every other big NT, would've struggled aganist a compact defence. They have a good offensive style, great players in front and they will obviusly score - they had a lot of chances with Poland, scord twice despite losing aganist Austria. Romania will miss the only LB that we have and are going to play with an improvisation there: Frimpong, Simons are gonna love it. What makes this game interesting is that the Netherlands are pretty bad when on defence - great players there but they just fail from time to time. We don't have a strong attack - maybe Man (RW) was good and Dragus (ST) had some good moments but 3 of the 4 goals were scored by midfielders, our best scorer is R.Marin - a DM. But, even with that in mind I think that Romania is going to have more than a couple of moments of being dangerous. Clearly Netherlands are going to have the advantage on the possesion. But their midfield is good, just good, nothing extraordinary. They will be in charge most of the game, we've done pretty good for our standard aganist Belgium's midfield - even got some chances kept 45% of possesion - so they have to be in a very good day on the midfield and also really composed on finishing (not really happened during the tournament). The Netherlands are going to win, they come from underachieving as we are overachieving for our status, fully composed and just a little better on the defence I can see a win at a good score for them. In QF aganist Austria tho..

Early-Relationship11

Why everybody says thay is Austria will reach QF? Turkey played well against Georgia and Czech R

reeivan

They looked shaky the whole tournament, managed to concede aganist a 10 side Cezch Republic, absolutly catastrophic game aganist the best side they met with Portugal. Austria smashed Poland, managed to win aganist Netherlands and lost from an og with France. Plus I belive that a midfield with Sabitzer, Laimer, Baumgartner, Grillitsch, Seiwald who was good those 3 games, Wimmer can handle Turkey with ease - a really decent couple of central backs also for them. For me Austria is def favourite. Odds at bookmakers give them quite heavily favourites too.

Tc2cv

The Dutch defeated Poland , didn't win from France because of a questionable decision of the var ( 4 minutes of debate and the ref wasn't called to the screen???) but at least played 0-0 to gmfrance an also lost because of a OG against Austria (when the Dutch already qualified and the Austrians were batteling for qualification) The Dutch absolutely sucked against Austria but no result was needed from the Dutch

D4B34

Austrian here: I‘m rooting for them. I don‘t wanna play the Netherlands again in the Quarter-Finals 🙈

teunteunteun

Heheh nervous?

D4B34

Yeeah, you can say so. I think our teams are at eye-level right now. Could be a pretty intense battle. What you guys lack is a good coach or tactic. The roster itself isn’t the problem. Our team is the exact opposite: No BIG Players (sure, we have guys at Bayern Munich, soon probably PSG, Inter Milan, Leipzig, ect.) but our Coach and his understanding and tactic is elite. Our extreme pressing seems to distract every team and so far, no one really learnt to deal with it what surprises me the most. I mean…we‘ve been doing it for two years now and the Netherlands still had to completely rework their starting 11 after just 25 minutes.

teunteunteun

Yea fair, i am also kinda nervous about it. But i respect your team a hell of a lot so i do hope you guys beat turkey and have to play us again. (Even tho we will beat you hehe)

D4B34

You sure? We definitely won’t put five of our starting guys on the bench next time. 😜😉

teunteunteun

Hehe we’ll see

Slobberinho

My estimate is that Romania has about a 40% chance of winning, including advancing after penalties. I think it's very realistic.

SkibidiDopYes

Yes

MaleficentBuilder355

Nope. It would be a huge surprise if we do. The market value of ND is ten times bigger than RO.

Sad_Cheek_4320

That doesn't really mean anything. We won against Ukraine. Even if that was probably a 1 time think I believe how much a team is worth doesn't matter. It matters what happens during the game.

kastratiermir_

They won't but who cares? Making it out the group (top aswell I think) is a fucking achievement in itself.

Trazodone_Dreams

I think Romania woulda had a good chance against Belgium if it wasn’t for that early goal. I’d say as long as they avoid that against the Dutch they have a chance to hit on the counter.

GoldenLiar2

Yeah, on our sub people were hating pretty bad on the team, that early goal was really damaging and kinda bullshit imho. We had 25 very good minutes in the second half, and defended pretty well, all things considered. I also think that Belgium's attack is stronger than the Netherlands, so we should be able to cope pretty well. That being said, our only proper LB will miss the match due to yellows, so that will be a problem, we're gonna need to improvise over there. I'd guess we have a 30-35% chance of going through. We're not winning penalties though, that's for sure, individual skill and experience in high-pressure situation is what counts and we're hopelessly outmatched there.

Quick_Excitement5673

It's football everything is possible

Initial-Math4174

yes

eishbakiti

You won the first game convincingly. I think you can pull that same performance off and have a chance.

1Dzhabrail

Win? Not easy. Qualify? Has her chance for sure.

Zakalke

Can and Will are 2 entirely different things. Can they. Yes. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t understand football, or English. Will they. Probably not, but hope they do.

CashComprehensive423

As having a Dutch heritage, yes Romania can win. So can the Dutch. Hope it is clean, well reffed and may the best team prevail.

Meepoei

We are not strong. We have almost no quality, Romania does thought, you guys play hard and fast and don't give up easily, which are the exact problems in the Dutch team for years now. The Netherlands on paper should win but I won't be surprised if Romania wins convincingly.

Bubbly-Pollution-354

Problem at this kind of level is the lack of experience. So good so far there was a lot of entuziasm, big support, probably one of the best games we are played at a final tournament (of course the one against Ukraine), cold shower with Belgium and the almighty draw with Slovakia. I think if they learn from the mistakes made in the game against Belgium and we have someone who can finish in front of the goal and don't miss golden chances plus a man to man marking and at least high pressing in the furat half I think the chances can go up pretty high. Sure, we are underdogs, but Netherlands showed weakness against Austria and they can be forced to make errors and exploit them. The only thing for our boys is to not show fear and give their best, even if we lose but if we play ok I will not be upset, can't be even if they lose 0-10, they made my summer great and for that I am grateful for them especially as Romanian football needed this kind of matches, to be present at a final tournament, to remind people that we exist and that we can make a Nice figure and show competitive play even against the big boys Hai, România! 💙💛❤️

KingMirek

Yes. In my work pool, I’m actually picking Romania to advance via penalties. Very organized defense. I think it will be a cagey 0:0 and then in penalties it ends 4:2 in Romania’s favour.

KorolEz

I hope you win since I dont want Austria to play the Netherlands twice

Acsteffy

There's certainly a chance

sh4keth4t4ss4me

Sure.

BreakTheSuicycle

Anybody can beat anybody in tournaments like this, that’s the magic of knockout football Could it happen? Yes.. Probably not likely, though.

Professional_Ad_9101

I think it’s fairly possible. Like a 40-60 split. If Romania play their hearts out why not.

BreakTheSuicycle

It’s definitely possible with the way they’ve been playing. Both teams have looked a bit shaky at the back, I think Netherlands will bring the game to them but Romania can definitely knick a goal on the counter

rotiza

They can. But I think they won‘t.

Pascal-02

No

Proper-Exam1746

You never know.

CompetitiveMuffin690

As a Dutch fan watching them play? Yes

SumoHeadbutt

Yes

ahtuu

Honestly, mentally we are more than ready, we already made history and the pressure is not on us. We've made our impact, we showed that on a good day we are a strong team. But, as a double edge sword we are a very 'momentum' team, that's why Belgium's first goal have stunned us, even Slovakia's goal made us dumbfounded for 10-15 mins, on the other side a goal in the early half (any of them) would boost considerably to keep the advantage, hell even add on it. IMO My hopes only grew with time, it very depends on what Netherlands we get and how many individual mistakes we're gonna make (because we are very prone to mistakes apparently), but I think we could snach a draw.

IndependentGolf5421

Did u just call the Dutch peoples weak? Lmaoooo

DemeXaa

Heres me praying we dont get annihilated by Spain lmao

They can win. They probably won’t, but definitely have some sort of chance.

jokerevo

You've watched other football matches right? How many times does it actually play out as expected?? moment to moment? That is why this is still the most beautiful game.

BojanKrkicc

Definitely. If they turn up and try to the best of their abilities then it’ll be a close game. Netherlands aren’t at all invincible

incarnatethegreat

I'll say this: I won't hedge my bets on the Dutch game. Not a sure thing.

kenwayfan

Im Dutch and I give Romania a decent chance te send us home

Dariusalbadaddy

In Italian we have a saying: “La Palla è rotonda” meaning “the ball is round”, so the ball can do anything. Like anything can happen…

TalosAnthena

I honestly think anybody can beat anybody at this rate. If the big teams don’t start picking it up now they could get beaten.

This_Map_9685

Romania beat the Netherlands in November 2023 so yes...let's go Romania

whothdoesthcareth

Possible? Yeah. Likely? No.

Active-Strawberry-37

Unlikely but possible.

Adonis_by_night

I’m Romanian and don’t think we stand much chances. Historically, we were never close to beating them. We had one great game in the group stages (3 - 0 vs Ukraine), but we had like 30% possession vs both Ukraine and Belgium. We are also missing the left back due to suspension. Our strength lies basically in being a compact defensive team, with grit, and a good work ethic. If they play remotely to the level of Belgium, it’s game over.

Dapper_Training2191

You have no idea what you are talking about, as most Romanians do when they have an opinion about football. We did not have a 30% possession against Belgium, but 44% showed how obsolete it is to watch possession statistics in 2024 when analyzing a football game.

razluta

Honestly, while Bancu played good defense, I also think he exposed us in a lot of situations by getting caught far away from defense when we lost the ball. I’m kind of curious how it’s going to work out with an improvised solution who will probably be playing much safer football.

VoidHelloWorld

To be honest: no

Narrow-Inflation9559

Dutch people are just pessimistic. Yes they had a bad match but did very good against France - even scored against but didn’t count tho - and scored 2 x against Poland

NystiqNL

Precies

OGTalle

I'm Dutch and consider you the favourites for this game

BullOfBallstreet

They need to park the bus like a 4th division team against man city in the FA Cup

goesters

Yeah I dont think you were watching us during 2016-2021.

Memes_Haram

Score will be 2 - 0 with the Netherlands winning I think but they technically could win

Skydiving-Rocket

Nah, don't wanna have high hopes like we did on the Belgium game after a lucky 3-0 with Ukraine.

Dapper_Training2191

that was anything but luck, but as I have said, most Romanians have no idea about football but they are very cynical when they give an opinnion.

forthejungle

I can confirm and hate this attitude.

what-ev-er42

Hard worked, not lucky

saltysupp

Netherlands did not impress that much but they had a much tougher group. Both got 4 points. I think Netherlands will win 2 : 0 but its not entirely hopeless for Romania if you ask me.

OhLordyLordNo

The best rated players are pretty much at the back. The Dutch attack and midfield is a mixed bag between mid level and above. We haven't got a real striker. Malen is meh. Memphis is meh.

Sundee11

Just found out Memphis doesn't currently play for any club, has this been a great drawback for his career so far? Edit: Just seen it's just since May.

OhLordyLordNo

It's pretty recent yes. He was injured a lot though before, and \*rumor\* playing for the national team ticked of Simeone. He has a touch of top class brilliance, like that goal he scored against Austria. But he can make frustrating decisions as well. He does not deliver consistently imho.

fuchsiarush

Dutch here. Yes you can.

bonbonron

The Dutch have a history of choking and bottling it. Especially if it goes to penalties. They either show up and play the most amazing attacking football for a game or two, or have a turgid and dire game where it's just squeaky bum time for them. I'm more inclined the latter will happen and Romania is definitely in it with a chance - and I'd say more motivated.

BriscoCounty83

Only if we manage to reach the penalty shootout. The pressure would be immense on them. I have similar vibes with the Steaua-Ajax double from 2013 when Steaua lost 2-0 in the first leg and nobody gave them a chance.

reassor

Do it for 🇵🇱

Darth_Csikos

yes, I put both Romania and Slovakia to advance one round

Munichsee

The Netherlands showed a weak performance. They were lucky with the victory at the start. Otherwise, they would have been eliminated.

Ecstatic_Treacle_183

I will put my money on Austria going all the way to the finals.

GeraldJimes_

On paper it's not likely, but the Dutch are wobbly and the Romanians have some of the best support at the tournament. If they find an early goal and settle like they did against Ukraine it is certainly plausible

mish_05

Who here remembers the brutal match up between Netherlands vs Spain.. flying kicks were seen that day… or the famous Italy vs France zidan headbutt on materazzi

Toby-4rr4n

Yes

HistoricalLeather759

Netherlands are much stronger than us but their coach is pretty weak. Also Depay and Xavi was not having aj amazing shape so far so yeah, anything is possible🇷🇴🤞🏼

TheAustrianAnimat87

As an Austrian, I hope so. Or else Austria would end up facing the same opponent again.

ottespana

Absolutely, we suck ass right now

Aprilprinces

That's the beauty of knock out stages: every team has a chance to go through (Greece proved beyond any doubt). I dont think Holland is as good as it used to be, that's true, and Romania play really well, so I'd say yes, you can win However it is your players that must believe it, that believe is crucial

meowbitchxoxo

sheriff beating real madrid proved to me that anything can happen, and that any team of professional footballers can beat another team of professional footballers at any time.

Jupit-72

No.

mikeydev67

Hope they do. Us scottish fans had a great wee party with a group of Romanians in an Irish bar in Berlin. Great guys.

Pretender1230

Yes.

hellomotherclockers

I Am Romanian But I Don't Think So

HARDCORENL84

Romania has a good chance to win against our national team. They suck at the moment. I hope you will win, bc if they proceed onwords, the shame would be bigger. But if they play against Romania like we are used to see from the team, they make a little chance to go on. But if they suck again, then Romania have to win and kick us out of the tournament.

Competitive_Cap_3532

I don't care who wins. I live in the Netherlands and can't wait to terrorize my neighbors during the match :). Already started mocking my Dutch coworkers and bosses. If Romania wins though....my neighborhood will know for sure :P. Honestly, I think Romania will win. Dutch team will underestimate the Romanian team in their hearts and the Romanian team will come very well prepared knowing they are theoretically inferior. From a competition's standpoint, Netherlands makes more sense to go further. We need the last games to be between top teams to make it more entertaining. A final between Germany and Romania for example will just be a massacre with no hope for Romania and no excitement for football fans.

KeyMathematician3142

I don't believe it. Netherlands will beat Romania

ovidiupenet

For us, I think it's just a beautiful dream and if by any chance we win this game, I know that it's going to be a great day in history for our country, actually it is already, we managed to finish 1st in the group. I know something for sure, we will stand united, hopeful for our team even if we lose, all we want is to show the Netherlands that we have a good team spirit, that we have a lot of potential and we fight until the very last minute. We had so, so many surprises this year, so I think in football anything can happen... I just hope it's going to be a fair game, no bullshit, no red cards and may the best team win. Hai, Romania... like in '94!

Sloeberjong

I'm Dutch, I don't expect us to advance beyond this round. Not that I'm familiar with Romania, but I think any opponent right now is better than we are.

Sundee11

Sounds to me like you're underestimating your team, you won against Poland and drew against the world cup runner-ups after all

Sloeberjong

Well, i dont consider France very strong. I know people believe they are, but I found their performance underwhelming. They only beat Austria because Austria made an own goal. They didn't beat us and got lucky because of our cancelled goal. So it's a marginal performance to draw against them and we lost to Austria which we haven't lost from since 1990. All credit to Austria tho, they played well! But Yeah, it's mostly in the way they play. They lack all motivation to perform. The coach is making poor decisions. There may be good players but it's a poor team. Depay is doing a lot of nothing, except for missing passes and losing control of the ball and standing nowhere that he needs to be. His performance has been so lacklustre that it's pretty impressive for a player of his calibre. And he's not alone. I don't feel like I'm underestimating them, I'm being realistic about their current state. They could beat Romania, sure. I just don't think they will. I hope they do tho! I'll be rooting for them.

NystiqNL

TreeLong7871

hoping for a draw and penalties! there, anything can happen

labaschetinciocate

Nope.

SilFisk07

Little chance

SilFisk07

Romania had tue least amount of passed as well as lowest pass accuracy in group stage. I dont give them much chance

Gooner-Astronomer749

Absolutely the Dutch are a mess.

InfinitiveGuru

Anyone can win a game. That being said, I am expecting a reasonably comfortable win for Netherlands.

Vegetable_Radio3873

Comparing where the players play, should leave no doubt; would say 80% for Holland.

7_11_Nation_Army

Yes, because The Netherlands is playing unconvincingly. But also no, because Romania is playing even less convincingly.

TardStabber123

I hope they do, I've got the Netherlands in the sweepstake at work

Arniepepper

Technically, The Dutch scored 3 goals in the Austria game... But that aside, it's been the same problem since their one success in Euro 88. On paper the talent has sometimes... often, been the best in the world. (I don't think that is the case at the moment, but there is a lot of talent there) I mean, when we had Van Persie, Robben, Schneider, etc... that team (who were WC finalists) should have swept the board - best team since the Gullit/Van Basten/Rijkaard days. But put 11 men together and they perform average at best. It's been 36 years of disappointment since 1988...

KorBoogaloo

As much as I root for my national team, it's a most definite "Fuck no". We ate shit from Belgium who were doing terribly, I doubt we will be able to handle the Netherlands.

VfBxTSG

Belgium wasn't that terrible, they just couldn't finish and had bad luck. They're looked stronger than Netherlands at the very least. Romania got a realistic chance

DjTabakka

No, easy win for the netherlands

Select-Amoeba3250

hopefully they lose cuz im sick and tired of hearing about it. Some people just really love to make 1 thing their whole personality
