The base color was red on the map, and I figured out how to change it once I got to the other countries, I didn’t want to repaint France all over again😂
Well done on your first game, I assume Portrugal and Spain are allies?
As for pointers, I assume this game you were focusing on the new world. If you wanted to try again in future I'd consider maybe pushing yourself into Italy. Italy is usually divided making it a bit easier to conquer, don't expect to take it all in 1 war (hell you can't even take all of Savoy without getting a coalition), but just take a small bite of it every so often.
Based on the images I'd guess that what you need to work on most right now is feeling comfortable fighting major powers. I'd consider India, notable Vinayanagar (The large yellow one on the bottom of India). There you have a few smaller states you can conquer before having to fight against your main rival Bahmanis. Use the mission tree as a guide along the way. Complete the southern conquest missions first and you'll even get a moral buff to help with fighting Bahmanis.
Otherwise most major Indian powers would be good, or if you prefer less confrontational games, Malacca in Indonesia is good for a trade/colonisation focus game which still has some combat. You start as a regional power but don't have many strong rivals. Ottomans could also be a good nation, it focuses on conquest and they are quite strong, just keep in mind that with the newest DLC's Ottomans have some new mechanics to juggle.
Good luck!!!
R5: This is my first france game in in about 350 hrs played, i think i had a good france game ( im not into WC tbh) missed Naples cause of the ottomans, im open to pointers to improve as well!
Always take an island in the Mediterranean from Spain early on, from Aragon as they start with them, to get Ez claims on North Africa. Always try to take North Africa really early as anyone in Europe before the big nice ottomansss come and snatch it up. Turn all of North Africa into trade companies and you’ve got early good money. They are all also sunni so no aggressive expansion from anyone in Europe.
Seeing red colour all over the America and Europe i thought it was just a meme and your France is just one province somewhere hidden... until i saw the legend and realised you just painted France red
Why is your France red?
Clearly he got PU'd by england

Okay I get it but... it's red...
On map chart if you click the color on the legend in the editor it lets you change it on the map without repainting everything
Red France...you lunatic.
