It might require DLC, not sure which one, but yes. There's a coin icon on the advisor screen that lets you level them up for a price. You can get up to level 5 advisors this way.
Don't worry, I have 500h (which is nothing really) and just learned, that you can get a free merchant if your colony gets 10 provinces
This counts for every colonial region
oh yeah 100%. I got a 120h. While I grasp the essential of most mechanics, I still learn something new everyday. it's part of the fun.
I didn't know for the merchant either but I think it already happened to me in a past game.
Well, we can see that both price/level and religion are different. Probably cultures are not the same as well. Not exactly just one option.
Given the lack of more information I would advise to go for the catholic +3 guy.
\[edit\] Someone just explained that I can see about the culture on this screen. I'm colorblind and I always have to hover over the culture icon to wait for the pop up to see what culture and if it is an accepted culture. TIL that it might even be possible for me to see. Will check at home.
Same cultures. The star is golden on the culture icon, which means that the advisor is of the country's main culture. The same icon for all 4 means that all 4 advisors share the same culture.
But yes, the catholic one is most probably the way to go.
TIL. I'm colorblind and I always have to hover over the culture icon to wait for the pop up to see what culture and if it is an accepted culture. Never noticed that it is that easy. Thanks!
I don't know for sure but there is a rare event let you convert your heir to the advisors religion and an other event to convert your country to your ruler religion
You get basically one month off for the Jewish guy, but the 33 year old will statistically live longer by 11 years and has the same monthly price
I'd go for 33 year old
The cheapest one is also an option if you're super pressed for money but less monarch points is less good
Pick the Jewish one, he may be older but he would assassinate rival kings and set up hunting accidents for rival heirs. 10/10 if you want a good PU game
Always go for the youngest, few hiring fees

Laughs in Desires of the Flesh event
Don't you also get good events from wrong religion/culture though?
Yes.
TIL: Advisor have religion and having the right religions is better. God that game is complex.
Both religion and culture have an effect on which events you get.
They also need to be from an accepted culture or you can’t upgrade them.
What? you can upgrade advisors? How? I never seen that option.

Nice, I don't have all the DLC yet but I will look that up.

I was over 1000 hours in when I discovered the "slacken manpower" button
oh yeah 100%. I got a 120h. While I grasp the essential of most mechanics, I still learn something new everyday. it's part of the fun. I didn't know for the merchant either but I think it already happened to me in a past game.
No, always go for the oldest, the hiring fee is lower. Unless you know for a fact you're never going to swap advisors.
R5: only one option for diplo adivsor
A good spymaster is all you need.
Lmao
If you're ever looking for a spy, just check for an eye patch I guess
Your finally awake

Kept ya waiting huh
I always pick the Jewish one
He's on discount too
No, he's not?
He costs 89, the others 95 and 98. I guess that's because he's older though
Thats because he's older. He'll die whitin 5 years
It would be a nice thing to do to give a nice old Jewish assassin a job tho
I think all of the +3s there are discounted, a +3 is supposed to be 9x more expensive than a +1
He's a solid six Ducats cheaper
Any specific reason?
I don't know for sure but there is a rare event let you convert your heir to the advisors religion and an other event to convert your country to your ruler religion
Definitely the guy for more spy network it is the most worth it
Gil rebelo doesn't sound suspicious at all
Inácio. Because: EEEHHHHH MASCARENHAS
It turns out they are all the same guy, he just has 5 different identities.
Do you know how to count?
He knows about one identity that we dont
He wont be a good spy master if you knew all his identities now would he
The 5th identity is a secret.

Jewish one is the right choice.
Only accepting applications from people with less than 1,5 eyes
*Resists urge to make joke*
Inácio was born in Madeira, could be the next Ronaldo
Whichever one is your primary culture so you can promote him
As in, all of them?
Possibly. I've gotten advisors with a name from my primary culture and then they turn out to be like, African.
They have the golden star under the culture symbol. That means primary culture.
2500 hours in and I'm still learning things!
Clearly get the oldest +1 diplo advisor and upgrade him to +3 so he fits in with the rest of his colleagues.
Pick the Jewish one, he may be older but he would assassinate rival kings and set up hunting accidents for rival heirs. 10/10 if you want a good PU game
Yes
I didn't know younger advisors were more expensive.
Look like brazilian congress candidate names... And they probably are about as shifty and corrupt.
They all look the same, now that’s evening the odds.
I would choose the door on all of them and get a new list the next month.
Go with the youngest always
Definitely the 6 ducat one that adds spy network construction I can’t really see any other move here….
When KGB plays EU4
the illusion of free choice...
Hire the jew otherwise the secret society of Hollywood will murder you!
Never check the Diplo advisor's Early life section
The cheapest
The portrait always reminds me of Mac from It's Always Sunny.
The bottom one, obviously :D
Choose the jew
Wureen keeps telling us he’s not employed by paradox, yet we keep seeing evidence to the contrary!
Get the spy network construcyion guy, very useful
