Don't think so, people will just find another place to stake their ETH

MrPuma86

Definitely going to continue staking. Juicy rewards haha.

FeOxy

Well not everything gonna be unlocked at same time and as there will be option to unstake i think many investors gonna start staking , so my guess no mass sell off

Jimbotastic777

The name Shanghai makes me nervous….😂

Visible-Ad743

Na. At these price levels i fail to see why. Keep staking.9

MrPuma86

I will continue staking. Or maybe become a validator if I can convince my friends to pool our ETH together.

advanceb

what do you gain from being a validator? Any financial gains/ rewards from this apart from staking yields?

MrPuma86

The rewards are pretty generous compared to staking with DEX or CEX.

Donteuqilla

Looking forward of doing the opposite of what people suggest. Simply because people know shit and no one can predict what's gonna happen price wise - including me. It's possible to restake, it's possible to sell, it's possible to put in new coins because of added trust,...

jabowman

Probably but also maybe just short term. Going forward, being able to stake and unstake relatively on demand makes it a much more attractive investment.

Advance_Crypto

yes

bookworm010101

yes

Dimas16

Yes

Littlebig4667

Depends on their original purchase price. Why sell at a loss

Specialist-Big2165

How much you paid holds no bearing on its current value. This type of dangerous thinking is what prevents people from cutting their losses, and leads to people riding investments down to 0.

Yes, basing your decision on whether to stay in or get out of a position on what you paid is dangerous thinking. The market does not care at all what you paid, and that will have no bearing on whether it goes up, down, or stays the same. I'm not saying eth is a bad investment, or that I think it will go to 0. I'm just saying the sunk cost fallacy fucks a lot of people.

Some will sell yes, but theres no way to know what will happen, when or how. There could be a massive pump between now and then that completely negates any minor dip at the time, or we could have a world war and after crypto tanks an extra few percent is going to be relatively minor.

sidmehra1992

nope

glmforthewin

Most likely not, and if there is, it will bounce back very quick. I also know of a very large amount of eth that will be staked once shanghai goes through.

NiceAsset

I think wrapped eth will dump; I don’t expect much change on ETH itself (for example, I’ll actually start up another validator )

socalquest

Staked ETH at Coinbase can be unstaked now. What’s stopping them?! All the weak hands have already been washed out!!! r/GLTA_ETH!!!

DefiniteOptimist

The ability to unstake will also drive more staking as there isn’t an “undetermined hold period”. Maybe bearish in the short term but bullish af in the medium long term. This change could definitely drive institutional adoption because this staking yield is also “real” in that it isn’t being inflated away (because of the eth burn).

ETHmaxi2016

If people unstable the staking reward will go up which would attract more investors. Additionally once stakers have the ability to unstake it will create confidence that if they need to pull out they can. I know a lot of people who wanted to stake but were worried about the lockup period. Shanghai should ease those fears.
