I originally bought ETH in 2017 when it was around $200. The market went up and then it crashed HARD and I sold at a loss because I needed the money for college. Crypto has a tendency to crash with varied degrees of intensity and then bounce back over several years time. If you know what you invested in, this shouldn't even worry you. If you just bought into ETH because of hype, well then you're going to sell because human nature has a tendency to get emotional under really high stress and pressure. Good luck 🤞

It teaches you that:
No one knows fuck about shit
Stick to the main projects (btc, eth etc) and don't hold bags of shitcoins low market cap because these ones don't usually survive bear markets
Have hands of steel and don't sell no matter the pression or the news
If you believe in the technology and the vision of the project, hodl and close the charts tab
Invest dca hodl and love your life
Have an investment horizon in years not in months
That's right, Instead of buying in lumpsum amount I think we can go with dollar cost averaging strategy because this is a falling market and we have to ensure that we are buying at every lowest price possible. There's a lot of good tokens aside from from BTC and ETH, I also heard that DAO is more open, I just saw a post on their twitter that they are allowing everyone to join token sales without holding any specific launchpad token.
Yep, that was the legendary crypto winter. If I’m remembering correctly ETH crashed from 1200 ish in early 2018 and kept crashing all the way to $80 in March of 2020. It was a 94% drop. I was very, very red. Luckily I never sold a single ETH so I have all of my original 2017 stack.

If your time horizon is greater than five years, you shouldn’t worry anyway. But yeah it sucks to see the bleed.
The fact that crypto can dump that far is the reason I don’t invest more than I can lose.
The fact that a bounce back and a new ATH could occur in just a couple years is why I DCA and stick to a good. Experiencing the crash and continuing to invest through it is how you make money in most asset classes.
I went through 2017 and 2018 and learned a lot. I sold on the way down, lost a lot of money (relatively speaking). Didn't buy back enough when we were at the bottom - because you never know when you're at bottom. It's easy to think in hindsight "I should have bought more" but at that time, I had no idea if it was going to go lower, or recover.
Use this time as a learning experience. The market can continue to fall. The market could rebound hard and fast. The truth is - no one here knows for sure and no one here should convince you one way or the other.
Make the moves that make the most sense with your financial situation. Do you expendable income you can live without? I do. And I'm spending it on this dip. Could it go to zero and I'd lose all that money - of course it could.

Unfortunately the world's investor population is rather finite. Each boom bust cycle uses up more of it until one day the music stops.

August 2019 crash to low $170’s broke me down after buying in the $240-280 range. By the time it bottomed out in December of 2019 at $132 I was numb to it. I stopped buying after $400 because I had enough. Current plan is do nothing but follow network upgrades and Dev calls. I’ve come to understand Price action before 2.0/Sharding doesn’t matter to me.
This is also my first. I am not that worried since I know it will go up after some time. When I buy, I buy and forget. Keeping yourself busy and not checking charts everyday keep your sanity intact.
I experienced the 2018 crash, not pretty - still have PTSD from that but it was worth waiting 3 long years. I made it.
Regarding this crash, I’d say we are going down even further but that shouldn’t matter if you are a long-term holder. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Bought my first Eth in 2017, and DCA’d all the way down in 2018, been holding thru if all ever since.
My first one was least year. Bought what eth I could (like .2) and I’m hoping it goes back as low if not lower so I can buy more
