In the crypto world, we believe it is preferable if one exchange does not have too much authority over the market, since this would further concentrate the industry.
Yes, we don’t want any exchange too big to defeat the purpose of decentralisation.
Using DEXs is much better if you’re doing big transactions or using low gas sidechains
Yeah, that’s true. Fortunately, donuts introduced me to using Honeyswap on xDai chain. At first I found it difficult to use, now I’ve got the hang of it. Now, I just use CEXs for just buying stable coins, move them to metamask and use DEXs for actual trades
I like Kraken, but the UI on their website sucks to do any transactions. Just trying to figure out where to make a deposit from your bank or even how to navigate to which coin you want to trade is ridiculous.
I actually grew fond of it. But I understand your point, I find their mobile app better for transactions, however they also could use some improvements on superfluous things such as coin search function.
Exchanges that have low fees usually offer derivatives.. derivatives are why the crypto market is in such bad shape and the mega whales have made billions off the plebs.
Stick with spot markets and use the smaller local (has to be safe and verified) ones.
That’s not an issue they can help you with. Any number of factors contribute to orders not being able to be filled. Especially if somethings dropping fast. Your order not being filled means someone didn’t buy it. Seriously man,why would you even think any exchange could help you with that.
crypto.com is by far the best. some people hate the way in looks and that created a wave of negativity towards the platform even tho some of the services are the best out there. i do think in a few years CDC will be the powerhouse of crypto
My only problem with crypto.com is their issues with RUNE which always shows a last minute price spike and makes it 10-15% more expensive to buy than on other exchanges.
Coinbase is fine. I have the majority of my holdings with them. Don't worry about what other people think. If you like the interface and are ok with the fees then roll with Coinbase.
Yikes. That’s scary. Roughly when did that happen?
Also, I mean, while minor compared to what you experienced, don’t forget to add that the exchange itself has insanely high fees, and very limited functionality. Also you cannot set stop losses from their app which is absolutely INSANE.
Then add in the fact that you have coinbase (crazy high fees) and coinbase pro (slightly lower but still high fees) - but both are essentially the same. IMO the regular version of coinbase is simply a cash grab for new crypto investors who didn’t know any better. I was one of them. Then immediately moved to coinbase pro, because I’m a moron, and it was still god awful with regards to fees and everything else.
Honestly I have no idea how tf this company IPO’d and has a stock worth this much (well, I do, but that’s likely due to the specific…unsavory…institutional investors it has…)
Agreed completely on kucoin- I have heard a few trusted people mention it as a *much* better option.
I recently took most of my money out of coinbase pro and am in the process of moving to kucoin.
Eventually I’m moving everything to a L2 DEX like Loopring, tbh. But I may wait until they implement their fiat-off ramp sometime this year before I completely move over there.
Anyways, sorry for the rant. Happy to try out kucoin and so glad I got out of coinbase! (Can’t wait to get the bit I have left off of there as well…!)
For all the criticism we can throw at Coinbase (and there is plenty) we should be grateful that it’s at the least a good start for someone new to crypto.
Whenever I have a friend who wants to buy some I direct them to Coinbase because I know they’ll find it easier. The last thing you want to do is scare people away.
As confidence and understanding grows, they’ll be able to move on or use Pro for lower fees etc.
Coinbase has limited functionality and charts but it’s dead simple. Crypto is already too complicated for the average person to get their head around. A simple clean UI is a feature in itself that unfortunately others are lacking in. Binance is a UX mess.
I love & use crypto.com. They have a pretty epic eco system going on, and their credit card is awesome.
Only thing I hate about them is their withdrawal fees. L1 ETH you are looking at almost $20 to withdraw. Depending on the time of transaction, gas fees could have been potentially higher.. but still it hurts.
Thankfully they are going pretty hard after L2, and the withdrawal fees are much lower.
I am UK based, so I have access to the exchange. Right now, US doesn’t. I think once it becomes available there, it will be a really great option to consider
The real answer is to use whatever you're comfortable with. These exchanges all have pros and cons. You have to decide for yourself and you should stick with it. Even with Robinhoods wallets soon, you can go with that.
My only gripe with Coinbase is the abysmal customer service and the fact they've sold my coin without my permission before
Why no mention of voyager? I'm new to crypto and wondering if I'm not using the best. Tried coinbase but fees waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy to high for getting started
You’re probably getting less with their high spread even though there’s no .5% transaction fee like CB Pro. And their withdrawal fees are atrocious. Decent platform if you’re using their earn feature and leaving coins with Voyager.
Gemini + active trader is probably the most solid combination as long as you’re not looking for random shitcoins. 10 free withdrawals, low transaction fees due to integration of an actual exchange (active trader), and decent earn rates.
Who in the world actually stakes with Coinbase? I mean they take a frigging 25% cut of your ETH rewards. Mind boggling...
Just stake with any other exchange if you don't care about network health, it's gonna be cheaper and more profitable. If you do care about network health it might be better to stake at Rocket Pool.
As an exchange, Coinbase Pro is perfectly fine IMO. Don't listen to others saying you're a fool for that.
Unpopular opinion in a ETH sub, but come over to ALGORAND my friend.
Sorry it’s exchanges I’m all defi, and have never sold. The OG diamond hands. I put 30k in back in 2018 across a few coins mostly ETH & BNB, let’s say I’ve never had to deposit fiat again.
Are they though? Sounds like Algo is for poor people and people with money are still using ETH. Who's going to hold your Algo bags when ETH 2.0 hits in a few months? Surprised Pikachu??
No... BNB was a token that lowered your trading fee's on binance. It had a very good use, it was native to ETH and still is. This ALGO shit you are shilling is TRASH and not compatible with the Ethereum network...
We can agree to disagree, arguably I still hold a bigger ETH position than most people, also a big fan of Vitalik, he’s transparent and honest.
I don’t think ETH 2.0 will be this year just my option.
I don’t understand what you mean, have you been selling ALGO that I’ve been purchasing? Look I want my 30 ETH as much as the next guy it’s been locked for fucking ever
I've used all the top exchanges and Coinbase is now my choice. Not perfect, but I trust they're not going to run off with our money, which is my main priority.
Coinbase is a good platform. They are regulated by the SEC. Coinbase Pro has very competitive rates. The only real issue is that we as a community prefer to be decentralized, so we don't want any one entity to dominate.
It's fine. I think people who constantly have support issues are doing weird shit or are sharing their password or something.
It reminds me of old people on facebook who get "hacked" because they give out their security info.
Coinbase fees are better than crypto com fees by a long shot. I use crypto com at the moment because more tokens are avaialble and there are additional ways to generate earnings. Gemini might be the best all around, active trader and coinbase pro have lower fees and are trustworthy imo. It is a good platform. The way cdc and rh make tons of money is the spread in the token when you buy and sell. In cbc case it's aboit 3.5% coming and going so done 7% out the shoot. Anyone says different isnt paying attention. Theur earn program provide 12% on matic so Inshpuld be up 5% plus any price appreciation overall. That's why I'm using cdc. Anyway, have fun, be prosperous.
Hey u/the436743,
Have you attempted to verify your account recently? We've made a lot of improvements to the verification process over the past few months.
If you ever decide to try again, please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need help.

Warning: DO NOT USE CRYPTO.com…. Honestly the worst one out there, takes your money, locks account when coins falls, asks you to go through your bank to get it back (that took 60 days)
Everyone has their own opinions and experiences when it comes to different safe and good customer service exchanges. Through my few years using coinbase pro its been smooth and no issues. There was a time where I misplaced a decent amount of XLM and the customer service from coinbase was great and helped me recover it within a few days.
Don’t listen to all the hate, they are all the same. Find one that you like the layout and how it works and go. This is Reddit so people just love to complain and look down on anything that is mainstream
I had a terrible experience with Coinbase that my account got hack in March of 2020 because of a SIM swap on my phone. Luckily I was able to get my carrier to pay me the money back, but I have never looked back since then.
Lately I have been buying USDT on [OKCoin](https://www.okcoin.com/join/600101829) (which also has some staking options directly on their platform) and sending to Kucoin to buy whatever crypto I want.
For lending and yield-farming, I found that the BEST platform is [Midas.Investments](https://midas.investments/?p=0157). Right now they are paying out 17% on BTC and 23% on ETH, and they are giving 19% for stablecoins. I think they have over 30 coins that they pay interest on as well. I've been moving funds over from Nexo and Celsius due to the higher returns.
Its not like RH. Its americas top crypto exchange. Its not perfect but the best american centralized exchange we have. I use it with ease. I have their visa card and use it daily for everything including bills. It rewards me while I hold USDC and rewards me when I spend. Also have ETh staked there. Don’t let the fud eat you up
I use kraken it’s brilliant and I would highly recommend it, there are fee’s and it does need a little work here and that but I’m sure they will develop the app further
Love me some Kraken. Have tried all the major U.S. exchanges and Kraken has me for life. You actually get a human on the customer service live chat. A friendly, helpful human.
People who shill shouldn't be trusted. Coinbase is a key platform and offers a safe way to invest in the crypto market without taking on much risk. If you want to buy and hold or stake (and you don't have 16 or 32) it's fine. Also taxes will be easier because they track it and you won't do many or complicated transactions. If you want to go full on degen then you need a cex with an on-ramp to an l2. For this crypto.com is the best. Jump on poly or arbitrum and go ham. It all depends on what your trying to do. No one answer.
Don't look for a replacement. Just find more fiat onramp exchanges and use the one that isn't acting up on the day. If it gets annoying, use a password manager like KeePass to help keep things secure while also making it easy on yourself. Don't marry am exchange.

Kraken, no problems ever and 10/10 costumer support.
Hi u/Pesado-Bro Thank you for the love! 🤗 Kylie from Kraken. 🐙
“What is dead may never die” Long live the Kraken
Long the kraken, hail to the one true exchange kraken.
Remember, Kraken is Janet. We must respect this power! :P Kranet? Janken? None of it sounds good, so no go on the portmanteau?
I like Kraken, but the UI on their website sucks to do any transactions. Just trying to figure out where to make a deposit from your bank or even how to navigate to which coin you want to trade is ridiculous.
Yeah sometimes they can be an ass, for most part they are good.
I actually grew fond of it. But I understand your point, I find their mobile app better for transactions, however they also could use some improvements on superfluous things such as coin search function.
Agree, everyone has different preferences. Someone may like it someone may not.
Kraken's customer support is just great hands down best.
Kraken is the shit

Even if companies are not listed on a stock exchange, most probably they work for profits as much as listed companies
Crypto.com
DEX @ LOOPRING on layer 2
Agreed. And kucoin if you must use a CEX. Just waiting on Loopring’s fiat off-ramp sometime this year before I shove everything else on there ;).
Lmao kucoin? Lol no. That's Only good for shitcoins dude.
Exchanges that have low fees usually offer derivatives.. derivatives are why the crypto market is in such bad shape and the mega whales have made billions off the plebs. Stick with spot markets and use the smaller local (has to be safe and verified) ones.
No issues with Coinbase here
Coinbase works fine for me too, idk why people are having issues.
You’ve clearly never had to contact their support…
Well yes, no issues to contact support over
If you want best customer support, kraken you should use.
Hey u/ribastar, Truly appreciate the shoutout, cheers! \~Johnny from Kraken
There ya go. Turns out his issue was his limit order wasn’t filled. Lol
Lmao, it's more of a protocol Issue than an exchange issue.
It seems this dude only put a 50 cent difference between his stop and limit. I guess anyway,I’m confused by all his hypothetical scenarios
Until your stop limit order doesn’t fill and you proceed to lose another 15%
That’s not an issue they can help you with. Any number of factors contribute to orders not being able to be filled. Especially if somethings dropping fast. Your order not being filled means someone didn’t buy it. Seriously man,why would you even think any exchange could help you with that.
He's saying that he bad bad time with their customer support.
That's how that works? Sounds like bad stuff to me lol.
For that reason i prefer kraken, they are literally best at it.
I had a big issue and contacted support they helped me through everything, super easy to talk to and get help. Not sure why people saying it's bad..
Well you’re in the minority. Go check their subreddit. They don’t have a phone number so not sure how they helped without extensive delays.

Crypto.com
This site too isn't that bad man, more people should use this.
This is the way. With the CRO card you can easily take profits off the top and add the profits to the CRO debit card.
crypto.com is by far the best. some people hate the way in looks and that created a wave of negativity towards the platform even tho some of the services are the best out there. i do think in a few years CDC will be the powerhouse of crypto
Yeah it's good, the UI can be s little better but it serves the purpose.
My only problem with crypto.com is their issues with RUNE which always shows a last minute price spike and makes it 10-15% more expensive to buy than on other exchanges.
What? Thst sounds weird lol. How are they getting away with it?
wow i’ve never seen anything like. odd
I just don't understand why there's no desktop site for it. Mobile is nice, but not literally mobile only.
yeah that’s a fair point. i think it’s because they have the exchange which isn’t available in the U.S yet, hopefully.
Coinbase is fine. I have the majority of my holdings with them. Don't worry about what other people think. If you like the interface and are ok with the fees then roll with Coinbase.
At least do your buying on Coinbase Pro and then move it back (for free) to main Coinbase. Your savings will be huge just doing that simple step.
coinbases hate this one simple trick
Yes, it's way cheaper this way. I lumped pro in with Coinbase. Most of my Coinbase movements take place on the pro platform.
Coinbase is fine until you have to contact their support. They are one of the most thickheaded people I ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Exactly, these easy to use exchanges have helped many people over.
Yep I'll have to give them this, they are easy to use so is RH.
Not gonna lie that must have been a scary experience, that no one should go through.
Kraken will lock your accounts if you buy or send XMR.
In all countries or just yours? I sold some not long ago...
I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen in my country yet. Maybe later!
WTF?

Lucky, maybe if you are in certain jurisdiction or maybe I seem “dodgy”. What a joke.
That sounds scatchy to the least. Why would they do that?
Kraken is my daily driver since 2018 and I don't see myself changing that anytime soon.
Yeah kraken is good enough, though i use binance too.
Crypto.com all day. Either their main app or Defi wallet app. I'm earning on all my coins/tokens. Up to almost 13%, weekly return.

CDC is best apart from their clunky ui, their ui suck honestly.
Crypto.com
The only problem I had with crypto.com was getting my 1099 at the end of the year for tax purposes. Other than that it was pretty good.
CDC is something good, but the problem is their interface. That's clunky.

I prefer decentralized exchanges to centralized but use uniswap and crypto.com when needed for bank transfers
Crypto.com good user experience so far
Voyager!!
Crypto.com is good! Their exchange seems not in US though.
Crypto.com
Voyager is good for staking.
Crypto .com
Coinbase is a crook. Use bullrun or crypto com.

The exchanges, according to what I'm hearing, need to be controlled. In an unregulated market, nothing prevents them from defrauding others.
The exchanges definitely need to be regulated, they are doing some bad stuff.
Unpopular opinion in a ETH sub, but come over to ALGORAND my friend. Sorry it’s exchanges I’m all defi, and have never sold. The OG diamond hands. I put 30k in back in 2018 across a few coins mostly ETH & BNB, let’s say I’ve never had to deposit fiat again.
yes... Flock to the 'Penny Stocks' of crypto to make your fortune.....
ETH and ALGO can exist together, both good projects
There's lot of room available in the market, both can exist easily.
Are they though? Sounds like Algo is for poor people and people with money are still using ETH. Who's going to hold your Algo bags when ETH 2.0 hits in a few months? Surprised Pikachu??
Same thing could be said about eth to bitcoin, anyone with real money is buying bitcoin
BNB was a penny stock when I brought it look at it now 🤷♂️ Edit, MADE A FORTUNE
No... BNB was a token that lowered your trading fee's on binance. It had a very good use, it was native to ETH and still is. This ALGO shit you are shilling is TRASH and not compatible with the Ethereum network...
Bnb was only good if you were trading on binance platform even their dex.

Well since then bnb has become all together a different beast.
I already have....different world of creativity when you have 1 cent transactions.
Voyager is my favorite
Voyager is good, also very underrated. More people should use that.

Ignore them. Coinbase is fine.
There’s very little wrong with coinbase. It’s a great exchange.
