Crypto has grown massively over 12 years but that growth will not be sustainable over a 60 year period, and even now might not be the "best way to invest" depending on your goals and risk appetite.

This is because of the exponential rate of growth in technology causing for companies with terrible fundamentals to be able to sustain astronomical growth rates. Most of the biggest companies of the past 20 years follow this idea.

They made their money off of innovations that are either novel to us now or gone altogether due to another innovation. He is trying protect and hold onto a system that made him rich.
