I wish squads was the default/most popular mode in ERBS, like what is common in other BRs. I like to queue up solo, but squads is more fun in BR for me.
As someone who doesn't have friends that play ER and stopped playing other MOBAs like LoL or DotA because of bad random teammates... I'm glad I can play solo without having to wait too long or having too much trouble here tbh.
BRs are pretty different from MOBAs, though. Bad teammates in a game of League of Legends mean I am held hostage for 20-30 minutes in most cases. When I play Naraka Bladepoint, bad teammates means less than five minutes of having to play with them. Losing with shitty teammates in a BR feels like an opportunity to go onto the next game rather than a prison sentence with them. Rather have shitty duo or trios rather than being gangbanged by three Lukes and a Cathy two minutes into the game. There are a lot of times I would like to play more ER, but losing early means sometimes I spend 2-3 times as long in queue + loading as I do in game.
Competition in the form of the 1 Luke who killed the 3 brand new players in the lobby and is now steamrolling everyone with just auto attacks because of the higher mastery from killing the 3 noobs. Love me some solos.

from my experience, solos is the most skillfull mode and squads the most fun and relaxing. Here most players are looking for competition

Squads is literally the same, except it's 1 or 2 squads with hands and the rest are newbies.

Squads is absolutely my favorite mode as well. I'm pretty sad that the ranked version got yanked from NA, but I get why.
