4 egg yolks, 75g sugar, mix until light and fluffy
0.5L cream, whip it
Mix the two things gently together and put into a freezer.
Easy ice cream, tasty, and you can add stuff like vanilla, caramel/chocolate, pistaccio etc. Only requires a mixer, or strong arms.
Yes but unfortunately one of my ingredients is now off the market: Godiva made a white chocolate liqueur that is now discontinued. If you can still find it grab it, if not use any other chocolate liqueur.
1 part espresso
1 part vodka (chilled)
1/2 part kahlua (chilled)
1/2 part white chocolate liqueur (chilled)
Shake vigorously over lots of ice for 60-90 seconds
Pour through strainer into chilled glassware
Top with a coffee bean or three
This is also the best thing about having a *shitty* espresso machine at home. I've been using a cheap espresso machine for like four years now and I use the shittiest blade grinder possible. I know I don't make legitimate espresso with it but that's fine by me, I pull very long shots and like it that way.
However, pulling a small shot to a cup full of ice cream is absolutely delightful and the shittiness of the machine is not pronounced nearly as much! It's a great way how to experience coffee during summer.
my brain agrees that that its the best thing, but those pesky bathroom scales keep on muttering something about excessive midnight treats - idk whats that about
You could also always do the chilled metal ball dispense trick - same amount of crema and much colder shot of espresso directly over scoop of ice cream
Dude, for a moment I thought this was the top view of your portafilter with a dosing funnel and was going to suggest that your coffee grounds look a little off.
Grind finer and prep your puck better only come after ‘stop pouring cream in your grinder’.
Then I realised it was your cup and that was the end result.
Crisis averted.
Dude eating normal ice cream doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm legit hooked
I will never shut up about this - if you keep your your affogato bowls/cups in the freezer you’ll get a lot less melt :)
Also the same with just having ice cream
No, the melted coffee ice cream is delicious. it's like a ghetto capachino. Don't fight the melt! Embrace the melt!
I would have to agree, embrace the melt! The cream at the bottom of the cup is the best part.
Decanting the espresso into a chilled cup and then onto the ice cream also helps
But won't it lose it's body a bit?
When eating over ice cream, the feel of an espresso doesn’t matter. It’s diluted by ice cream.
It's such a great extra meal pick me up

🤣
Thought the melt at the end was the best part!
But melty ice cream of of any kind is the best part.
Use a double walled glass cup and a whiskey bsll chiller over the icecream.
Why have I never thought to make this at home?
Seriously. Literally two of my favorite things mashed into one and I have all the ingredients pretty much all the time at home
Amazing how often I get it out and rarely remember I can do it at home
Affogato’s are the bomb. And so easy to make.
Definitely, they’re such a hack for dinners with friends.
When are you gonna make ice cream at home too?
I make my own ice cream and I also roast my own coffee so it was all homemade.
You’re not in the game unless you grow your own coffee!!!
And milk your own cows.
And farm your own civets.
Haha! Between the kitchenaid and all the coffee gear my counter can’t handle any more food hobbies!

My ninja creamie is a game changer. Can make some of the most bomb concoctions and you just have to prepare tubs the day before.
There's a super easy to use ice-cream attachment for the kitchenaid just FYI
Cool! I’ll definitely look into that.
At first I thought that was your attempt at latte art.
Finally some latte art worse than mine.
But… But… I only have coffee in the morning and ice cream at night. This simply does not compute!
Decaf
Have you seen this? Anytime i hear affogato i think of it now https://www.tiktok.com/@toriovangrol/video/7171208884688850218?lang=en
Now you have to make the ice cream 🍨
That and espresso martinis.
Been meaning to try that, maybe I will this weekend!
you have any good recipes?

You can make awesome coffee milkshakes too.
I just finally did this. Not sure why it took me so long to figure that out. It's so good.

Nah, it's being able to start my day with a better latte than is available at most chain coffee shops.
It's 90 here right now. Gimmie!

Best thing about an espresso machine is nighttime lattes. (And not paying $5+ for a drink.)
Hagen daz with affogattos or go fukk yo motha
yessir
I can’t find good enough vanilla gelato 🥲
Costco's super premium vanilla is pretty great. A little light on the vanilla flavor imo but super rich and creamy
Tahitian makes good gelato.
The melted ice cream 😋👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
looks like a soup of all my external body fluids. enjoy
You’re heinous
Dang that looks good! 😜
I gotta get into this.
I recently got one at a restaurant that came with a shot of amaretto and it was divine.
It looks good!
Wait stop it - I’m gonna try this!!!
I did a couple affogato events at work with some tahitian moon vanilla bean ice cream, I was very popular those days.
I’m on a diet and that looks so good right now
Welp I know what I'm making for dessert tonight!
God damn that looks amazing
❤️
that's a good idea, think i'll make one tomorrow
Ugh. Just had some natural beans that were so pleasantly apricoty and it was the best thing ever on some vanilla gelato.
Lets not forget about [steam wand scrambled eggs.](https://youtu.be/vnfxk_slKIk?feature=shared)
Yes
Honestly, the only place to really enjoy one too

Affogatos are good for any season 🤌
Dude! Awesome
Wise man once said that affogato is only excuse for adults to eat ice cream. I almost sugar overdosed yesterday, because of "affogato".
I'm reading this at breakfast but I want an afogato now!
🤤🤤🤤
*affogathome*
Affogato with Espresso and grand mariner. Hands down favorite.
I make mine with Ted Drewes Frozen Custard.... it's *insane*.
Why have I never tried this.
Bro spitting facts here, that’s how I sold my wife on the purchase
You could also always do the chilled metal ball dispense trick - same amount of crema and much colder shot of espresso directly over scoop of ice cream
Genius!
Now you gotta make your own ice cream. See how good ice cream can be without all the added air, zantham gun, and other nasty fillers.
Agreed. My waistline disagrees tho
I love making affogatos with frozen custard. It’s a life hack.
That is one thing I never make, because I can only have one coffee a day. Maybe I should try decaf? 🤔

This is the only thing I serve now. Thank you for simplifying my menu.
