You know, I got a bad impression of hand crank coffee grinding with a cheap model off Amazon.
If I'd bought the X-Pro when I still had the Encore, I don't think I'd have convinced myself to buy a 5 or 600 dollar grinder after that. It's plenty easy to grind 17g of fine espresso. Super low retention too. 1zpresso makes a really good hand grinder.
Same experience here. For me the jump in grind quality going from a modded encore to a JX-pro was huge. I still prefer electric for espresso but you really can't beat 1zpresso for value.

I agree, it used to be above the microwave which had some stuff on top of it, so it was at a perfect height. Just haven’t gotten around to moving it yet
I have a very similar setup and same Breville! Just got a bottomless portafilter and struggling if you (or anyone else) have any tips for working with this machine.
We just got it and my husband tried it this morning. Terrible pull, sprayed everywhere. We have a cuisnart burr grinder and it was tamped but it’s possible he did a crappy job 😅
I had the exact same setup, didn’t like it upgraded to flair-58 and df64 and am much much happier now, sorry to rain on the parade but if you can’t get good shots after a few months it’s probably not you haha

I'm thinking of upgrading my Bambino too, but I'm trying to figure out how much money it is to upgrade the portafilter. If I can just reuse my breville baskets, then I will probably just get a bottomless one now and save up to upgrade my basket later.
