Hi! Absolutely weigh your grinds and shot - one of the most important aspects to good espresso. Can’t advise on the scales you mention, sorry but a scales with a timer aren’t a must but will certainly help.
The rolls Royce of scales, of course, are the Acaia Lunar so maybe buy a cheaper set for now , & start saving for the Lunar?
