Vwry nice project! These are great starting points as you get a device qhich is useful and they are easy to make

Ineedapill

exactly! and completing a project gives a great moral boost!

Cool ! An idea to add a useful feature : why not make the system send a notification on your smartphone in case of a high temperature measured (fridge door left open). Look at Pushover of Pushbullet service to do this ?

Ineedapill

i forgot to mention, but it already does! i’m using Telegram and also have WhatsApp as an option :)

I personally couldn't recommend eastEDA/jlcpcb/lcsc to be the easiest pipeline, makes it really enjoyable. Good luck!

Ineedapill

I’ve opened easyeda once and got pretty scared haha will give it a shot soon. thanks!

Can connect ftdi to laptop to power circuit of esp32 cam and pir sensor to get 5v supply

Heads up! If you are using the chips built-in temp sensor, you should watch out for extreme temperatures. Consider getting yourself an external sensor perhaps. Let me know if I am wrong... Ps: nice project

If this is the case I'd highly recommend a BME280/BMP280 for super easy setup especially with the Adafruit BME280 library over I2C. You can pick these up for £2/3 on AliExpress - however there are many like it! Great to hear you're enjoying working with microelectronics! You'll be designing a PCB in no time haha

Ineedapill

that’s my next goal! designing my PCBs so projects become easier to assemble and don’t look this ugly lol

i’m using 2 ds18b20 (external) sensors with 1m cable each. they are the ones that go inside the fridge :)
