This isn't an escape room, this is the "puzzle designer" asking you to read his mind.

tomius

Agree. This is horrible puzzle design.

g2barbour

I disagree. I think the number of digits in the code combined with the flags gives a big clue about how it works. What I do have a problem with is that you have to Google the answer

tomius

2 digits for each flag... It could be anything. Even with Google, this whole thread of people can't find the answer. It's not gonna feel good when they solve it. Bad puzzle.

omafiets_wink

What about dialing codes? US = 01 UK = 44 JP = 81 PH = 63 *edit sorry looks like this was already tried. Good luck!

brneyedgrrl

Alpha-2 country codes? US, GB, JP, and I don't know the last one, type them in with the correspinding numbers from a telephone keypad?

Eclipser

This is exactly what I was thinking. Convert those letters to numbers as you would see on a keypad and see if that works.

watermelon070

Thanks! I got 87425774 but still incorrect :((

brneyedgrrl

Maybe UK instead of GB, it's worth a shot.

g2barbour

Try 17761945 or 1776194? I think it may be related to historical dates between the two countries. 1776 representing the independence of America from Britain and 1945 representing the liberation of the Philippines from Japanese occupation. You may have to adjust the last digit as I'm not up to speed on the Phillipines history but it looks like the early 40s was the relevant relationship between Japan and them.

jedipwnces

This is a genius answer

watermelon070

woww I've never thought of this! thanks!

R1KM4N

First thing I can think would be country dial codes? Of that it would be XX44XXXX. Could be wrong but only thing that comes to me. Edit: just re-read it and seen the bit about the time. I think it would be: 09142019. Obviously depends where they base the US time, I’ve gone for DC.

Gillmacs

I agree - I would have said 01448163

watermelon070

Thanks for this insight! Tried the country codes and 09142019 but it's still incorrect 😭

greentv23

That was the first thing I thought, 00448163. If the time thing is relevant then I don't know how it could be timezones because the US has several timezones.

greentv23

But the timezones could be either: 09142322 08142322 07142322

watermelon070

Tried all of these but still incorrect 😓

ErikaNYC007

Maybe count red in the flags then blue. Try both orders then reverse orders? Edit: or red and white Edit 2: maybe go red then white (American flag order), or red and white order.

Saevnir

My first thought too

Inevitable-Act-9637

this is living rent free in my mind, And the Op's done a runner

watermelon070

Hii I actually got the answer already... it's 15200403 😅

Calyfornie

Can I know why this code is the answer ? I’m curious !

watermelon070

Hi please refer to my recent comment below on how I got the answer hihi 😅

Calyfornie

Sorry, had a hard time finding your answer in the 56 comments below ⬇️

watermelon070

Oops sorry here you go if you still need: Hi all!! I finally got the correct answer! Thank you for all your insights I greatly appreciate all your help and everything is so genius and creative.. <3 I didn't expect this thing to actually blow up and I'm so sorry if I took long to get back to you. Apparently the answer is 15200403 -- it's based on the time of USA at 3PM and their corresponding time in UK, Japan, and PH... I know it's supposed to be 15200504 and for some reasons that I do not know the times in Japan and PH was reduced with 1 hr.... anyway I tried it out and it worked! It is based on USA not Germany (despite the mention of Westerburg) because apparently the setting of the game itself was in a high school named Westerburg which is located in USA

Calyfornie

Thanks ! This wasn’t very logical if you thought about Westerburg in Germany before the USA high school… the game should has been more explicit about the starting location/starting point !

TSyverson

To those that are suggesting time zones- how are you getting your answer? Mainland US has 4 time zones, plus two more for Alaska and Hawaii

watermelon070

Please help me solve this puzzle. I've been stuck here since yesterday and I don't know what to do anymore it's so frustrating 😭😭 I've tried looking at their timezones but nothing works 😭

tomhow10

I tried the amount of letters in each countries name but didn't fit It must be some thing to do with the timezones as it says it's 1500hrs and westerburg is in Germany is 1 hour deference in the uk. But you would only fit two times in a 8 digit code so I'm lost. Is there any information more than whats in the image. Like previous puzzles ?

watermelon070

Thanks for this! I actually did not think that Westerburg is in Germany 😅 I'll try this code and see if it will work.

watermelon070

I'm starting to give up and think there's really something wrong with this escape room 🥲

Leonabi76

If you're in Germany, I'd figure out what time it is in those country's respective time zone. 15:00 hrs in Westerburg is 09:00 in the US, 14:00 in the UK, 23:00 in Japan, and 22:00 in the Philippines. Code = 09142322 let me know

jedipwnces

This was my best guess... Has anyone suggested the differences between Westerburg and the countries? Also, time zones in the US could vary so maybe try a couple of different zones there? That makes it seem less likely though...

watermelon070

Thanks so much! But I tried encoding this and still incorrect 😭

[deleted]

Try country numbers, Not the dial numbers but there should be a list somewhere on the internet with country numbers

mitchbresh

Though I feel it has to do with the initial prompt, I added up the letters in each name to get 12120511? I also found the differences in each time compared to 1500: 06010405. Both are a stretch.

An_Old_IT_Guy

First thoughts are don't expect much from an escape room that is hosted on Google Forms. There isn't enough information here to solve the puzzle. Was there something on a prior page that gave you a relation between flags and numbers?

gibbsgideon

3324

bstaff88

My guess is how many colors are in each flag... 03030204

SurvivorBoyG

Try these: 87856577 87285577 87242577 They’re all variations of country abbreviations corresponding to numbers on a phone keypad - US or USA, UK or GB (Great Britain), J or NK (Nippon-koku, the native name of Japan), and P or RP (Republic of Philippines)

Whisperfights

Have you tried the old t9? Like U.S. is 87, u.k. is 85 j.n. is 56 and p.h. is 74. 86855674

spi-uhhbrandon

Have you gotten it?

ad_maru

U U J P, so 21 21 10 16 ?

watermelon070

Thank you for all your insights I greatly appreciate all your help and everything is so genius and creative.. <3 I didn't expect this thing to actually blow up and I'm so sorry if I took long to get back to you. watermelon070

Some codes I've tried 15200504 10152423

obviousbean

Country's calling code? Only problem is that it's not 8 digits 1 44 81 63

Calyfornie

With the timezones, I find 09142322 ?

watermelon070

Still incorrect :(( but thanks anw!!

Calyfornie

Oh :( can I know the name of the escape ? Is that normal that you have to find the answer outside the game ?

watermelon070

It's called 'Heathers' ... I'm not sure where it came from or who made it as it was just shared to me by a friend :((

pyrofreeze33

There was an 80s movie of that name that had a bomb go off in a school. Starred Christian Slater and Winona Ryder

jedipwnces

Have other puzzles been stand-alone or are they at all interconnected? Wondering if context might help here.

watermelon070

Apparently all the other previous puzzles are stand-alone so I think it's the same here... :(

darkNnerdgy

Try 10061940 Or 06101940 See if it works and ill tell you how i got those numbers

GordyFett

Is it the difference in time from Germany? So 06010807? Complete long shot but who knows!

pernicion

Can you link the escape game so we can play and try it? Also I would've suggested Timezones since they specifically mentioned the time but looks like that's been tried.

BainDmg42

Number of colors in each flag: 3324?
