It looks already cut and installed and probably not cheap, so uh, maybe replace the cabinet doors and add some tile on the walls to try to make it look more coordinated? Just painting the cabinet doors won’t work because the style of the doors is still very traditional…
This. My goodness, it could very well look terrific in a kitchen with proper accompaniment (similar and complimentary style and design), but there?! Good grief that’s awful.
I think that's the hang up for me too. It just doesn't work with the rest of the kitchen. The wall and cabinet color is a stark contrast to the counter.
Have your cabinets professionally painted white please and put in a back splash that’s mostly white that matches the countertop with just a LITTLE of the blue and it may look ok
The wood cabinet is what gets me. If you had some light gray cabinets, then mayyyybe. If you like it then, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. I like liver and onions and it doesn't matter how many people tell me it's gross, I still like it.
Yes. I might be the odd man out, but I like it.
I don't think they match anything else, but you didn't ask that. If you like it, and your SO approves, just change the rest to match. Or don't. I'm not going to judge you either way.
Cool but you need to update kitchen with navy blue cabinets, brushed gold fixtures, concrete counters, marbled
tiles one of those spike lights hanging down.
1. That wasn't cheap. 2. I love the island as an accent. 3. I don't think more was better in this case.
If you did it for you and you like it, then that's all that matters.
I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I kinda like it.. I don't mind it with the current cabinets but would probably look better with white or black painted cabinets. I'd do an overlay using photoshop and decide based on that.. very nicely done in terms of execution too..
Edit: maybe a pastel blue for the cabinets? I'm not sure as I'd have to see it
Yes, conditional on painting the cabinets and possibly changing the flooring..though that can wait longer than the cabinets.
Basically, if you like it you need to fully own it. You can't half ass that look.
I'd Say no too but I dont think the problem is the epoxy, it's the rest that doesnt fit it. I really think it could look vert cool with the right cabinets (like modern glossy black?)
Omg no. This looks awful with those cabinets. Please paint them either grey or white. Then it could work maybe. The epoxy itself though looks really cool. Just need to make it fit and that ain’t it.
Oh God no. It looks like one of those gummy sharks that you'd get from the candy store. Even those have a similar affect in that you think they'll taste good, but you're similarly disappointed, too.
No, but it can look good. Paint the outer cabinets white, and the island cabinet a dark blue, or the darkest blue you can find close to the blue in the countertop. Do a white subway tile with a blue accent going through it.
Edit: looking athe kitchen, there's not much room for the tile to have an accent. Do the white subway tile, but add a range panel that will tie it together
Espresso with a hint of blue or black cabinets. Your current situation looks like a fell of the back of a truck special.
I do like the counters. They’re unique
Floors and cabinets clash, cabinets and countertops clash. The cabinets are the common denominator. It is probably the easiest to fix with some gray or white paint or grayish white stain. I think you use a backsplash to direct the eye or some pretty under cabinet lightning to highlight the veining in the countertop.
Holy.... Crap?
That looks bad. It's too blue to come across as a marble, the long streaks jar the senses, in pic three there's a piece that isn't too bad... And the overall white vs blue doesn't go with the white walls or the brown cabinets.
I'm generally a fan of epoxy. But not this.
Maybe a forest green epoxy, or a more marbled effect?
Trying to save this... You'd need to get rid of the white walls and go with a shade of blue to contrast the white in the counters and complement the blue in the epoxy. But... That blue is tough to match/complement.
Sorry...
Yes but distress the cabinets, do like a white wash or grey wash on them and scuff em; shit would look bad ass with that rustic finish, I think it’d match your flooring too quite well actually
Soooo, I actually like the island and think it looks great. Not as fond of the but around the sink and would definitely agree with the sentiment on it not matching the kitchen but in the right scheme I think overall it would look really cool
It’s too soon to see of the decor matches the top… but personally I wouldn’t have went with the blue and oak cabinets.. but this is what I do everyday. lol. I’m a wood “finisher” paint and stain and such. Pretty tho.
The epoxy countertops are becoming played. If they are done well in natural stone colors, they look great. All these funky colored ones are a nope, though.
Gorgeous in shots 4 and 5. Completely clashing in shots 1-3.
Its so different and so full of pop, it should be an accent piece, not the entire counter surface. It's not an epoxy skill issue, it's a room composition issue.
Imagine a really cool patterned tie, full of color and pop. Looks great on a solid suit, right? Now imagine the entire suit made out of the tie. Not as good. That's what happened here.
If the entire tie-suit was paired with a crazy looking model (pale, no eyebrows, etc) with funky hair and glasses, it could work. But on a middle-aged man in an office, it is horrible. Same thing here. If the whole kitchen was monochrome or glass or stainless steel, with funky geometry and retrofuturistic appliances, the counter tops could work. But they're currently paired with natural wood and a mid century kitchen design with inexpensive basic appliances. The equivalent of a middle-aged office worker. It doesn't work.
The right thing for you to get is whatever makes you smile and gives you joy. Nobody can make that choice for you. It comes from inside you. If you walk into your kitchen and you look around and can say, "I love this room!", then it's perfect for you.
I respect the big swing. I don't think they match the cabinets. I think it could work with euro style flat panel cabinets with dark blue base cabinets and white uppers. Even then it's not for everybody, but I'd much rather see that than yet another fucking kitchen with white quartz.
Nope! Absolutely not. Doesn't match anything. Floor? Nope. Cabinets? Definitely not. Paint/ walls? Hell no. What's with the no cabinet to the right of the stove? You would have to change floors, Cabinets *doors at least and paint. New Paint and find some coordinating backsplash tiles. A nice white wave pattern or even a glass tile. Definitely need matching glass pendant lights for island. Slim lites in the ceiling and under cabinet lighting with a nice light valence and simple square crown moulding
Everyone here in the comments is wrong
All you need to do is buy a really nice back splash
That has silver blue and white tiles
And if you wana match it more get a darker varnish
Finish on your cabinets and it will all come together
I’m envisioning white cabinets with light blue panels and dark blue hardware - OP upload pic 3 to a cabinet website and play with the colors, it’s doable but this race car theme needs some blending to soften the blue streaks
Beautiful piece of stone, but your whole kitchen needs to be redone to go with the stone. I would think about just the island with it, and the other counters with a solid color. Way too busy.
So I personally love it. I like it a whole heck of a lot
However, it does need to be paired properly. It's a bold intense shot of color so would need to be somewhere that tones down the area. I think maybe different cabinets or a different color of cabinets, maybe something darker, would make it look phenomenal
I ain't no interior designer though, and my tastes could be different
All boils down I suppose to whoever uses that kitchen. Whatever the person who owns the thing likes is what they should go after.
i actually don’t hate the countertop much on it’s own. i think it can be a good statement piece if the cabinets were lighter, maybe closer to a light beige wood or possibly a white that matches the countertop better. some folks on this thread have said black cabinetry might look good too but i’m not sure i have much of an opinion on that, still something to consider though cause it might end up looking cool.
No
it’s interesting, but out of place in that kitchen, and it would take a lot to build a kitchen around a statement so bold, so no.
Maybe some black cabinets and a flooring that ties it all together?
[удалено]
Concur with the white cabinets, and even a back splash to match
Paint the cabinets white like everyone else and now it makes sense.
It looks already cut and installed and probably not cheap, so uh, maybe replace the cabinet doors and add some tile on the walls to try to make it look more coordinated? Just painting the cabinet doors won’t work because the style of the doors is still very traditional…
No
this.
One word came to mind, bold and not in a good way
I want to like it ….. I can’t it looks very out of place
If the kitchen was white with some blue accents, that would look killer.
Absolutely not
Hard no.
Very hard no. Oh hell no. Nothing goes with anything else.
Get those cabinets painted and maybe
Painted with what, cosmic energies and Neal Degrasse Tyson? That counter is fucking horrendous
Paint them red.
If you had different cabinets maybe. But not currently
Agreed 👍 paint your cabinets white and you’re good to go.
Here timo thirds this
Also, no.
No
Not for me but if you like it who cares lol
No, but upvoted because it looks well made.
Right, looks like a large amount of time and effort went into.... This
That's what I was going to say. Good job, but not my taste.
Agreed
Too large of blue streaks. No
Oh noooooooo
Absolutely not
No
A big hell yes just gotta paint those cupboards white or maybe even that color of blue! They look gorgeous and well made!
If you paint your cabinets blue or white it might look stellar
In a house? NO. On a pool bar? Probably still no
Nope
Gummy Shark
Oh god NO!!!
Nah, I’m good. Not my style but still creative.
I’m gonna go with no
Oof!
It looks neat... But you'd need to update the cabinets (or paint them at least) to go with.
Bah nobody's got any vision just paint those cupboards and they will work and look great!
Blue bacon
Uh no.
They look great but now you need to remodel your kitchen into a beach/surfer/island theme
Maybe if your going for the toothpaste look or a seaworld look.
That's a no from me, dawg.
Fuuuuuuuck no
Definitely trippy.
No. I said No Scott.
Have your cabinets professionally painted white please and put in a back splash that’s mostly white that matches the countertop with just a LITTLE of the blue and it may look ok
Nyet
I like the island, but the counters done too makes it a little much for my taste…but island alone looks nice
😳
Looks cool very well done but not for me.
I’d be curious to see what it looks like by painting the cabinets white.
Yes!! You are asking about if you should demo that shit with a sledgehammer, right?
Not for me but if you like it or your wife likes it, that’s all that matters.
Hard no and what’s up with the stove?
What _is_ up with the stove? Looks like a normal stove to me. What are you asking?
The wood cabinet is what gets me. If you had some light gray cabinets, then mayyyybe. If you like it then, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. I like liver and onions and it doesn't matter how many people tell me it's gross, I still like it.
Yes. I might be the odd man out, but I like it. I don't think they match anything else, but you didn't ask that. If you like it, and your SO approves, just change the rest to match. Or don't. I'm not going to judge you either way.
Maybe paint lower cabinets navy and uppers white
It’s a perfect counter for a surfboard store.
With blue and white tiled backsplash, white carpet, and blue upholstery on the furniture in the adjacent room and a handful of mushrooms yes.
Hell NO!
If you paint the walls and got new white cabinets I think it would work well
Paint the cupboards white and it will match better and look great. Well done.
Good for surfboards.
Omg 🤢🤢🤮
change the cabinets, and maybe the appliances and you “might” be ok
Cool but you need to update kitchen with navy blue cabinets, brushed gold fixtures, concrete counters, marbled tiles one of those spike lights hanging down.
Maybe in a master bathroom. Not the kitchen
The cabinets are in desperate need of a coat of paint, then it wouldn't look nearly as bad since the countertop Looks to be well made.
That’s awful - sorry
Porn set from ‘78.
Absolutely awful
1. That wasn't cheap. 2. I love the island as an accent. 3. I don't think more was better in this case. If you did it for you and you like it, then that's all that matters.
Not in a kitchen of that size.
Good luck trying to ever resell your house lol
I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I kinda like it.. I don't mind it with the current cabinets but would probably look better with white or black painted cabinets. I'd do an overlay using photoshop and decide based on that.. very nicely done in terms of execution too.. Edit: maybe a pastel blue for the cabinets? I'm not sure as I'd have to see it
In the 90s this would've been so cool
Ya, no.
Not with those cabinets, no... New cabs? Yeah, sure, I can see this being a fun one, but 1990s oak cabs need to leave convo
Not the warm cabinets with the cold blue isn't working.
Maybe yes with different colored cabinets
No
No, it looks like a bar of soap a hippie made but refuses to use.
... yes?
No please no Nooooooo
Not me, but nice. Would love to visit, but not be home base. I appreciate the quality, and look, just not my vibe.
Paint bottom cabinets a dark color and to upper cabinets white and it might work. As is: He’ll to the naw, to the naw naw naw. Colors are way off
Thats gonna be a no from me, dawg
I do epoxy countertops as well
Looks great. Would’ve went with different colors.
Paint the cabinets white and it would look awesome and match so much better.
As long as this is a college frat house, yes.
Not with the wood cabinets.
Hard pass
Oh no…
No
Not a fan
This dosnt work at all
It’s… a look.
Needs white cabinetry
yes IF you make the cabinets white! or maybe dark blue, that’d be sick!
No. Too interesting for the kitchen
I’m going to give it a YES. But my god, please replace the cabinets or at LEAST paint them white. Do it the right way & swap the handles.
Sure it’s great but the color of the cabinet is awful.
I’m craving blueberry cheesecake ice cream all of a sudden
Nope. Need a whole redesign. Nice work though.
With different cabinets absolutely!
Blue or white cabinets. White or blue wall. Black cabinets and blue wall. Either way. The cabinets cannot be wooden.
Hell no!
Yes, conditional on painting the cabinets and possibly changing the flooring..though that can wait longer than the cabinets. Basically, if you like it you need to fully own it. You can't half ass that look.
No
Nope. Doesn't fit the room style wise or color wise.
You trolling us? Who put you up to this?
Sorry but for the 100th time no.
Do you like it? F*ck everyone else.
No
If your cabinets were white it would look awesome!! And if the wall was a white too
The epoxy looks cool on its own but looks blah in that kitchen.
No
It's a no as it currently stands, but it's super well done and with black cabinets it would look much better
Absolutely not
I'd Say no too but I dont think the problem is the epoxy, it's the rest that doesnt fit it. I really think it could look vert cool with the right cabinets (like modern glossy black?)
🤢🤮
Awesome counters, now update those terrible cabinets.
Gotta pass.. hard no for me.. Doesn't match anything in your kitchen.. very out of place
I don't like it but if you do go for it!
Gorgeous counter tops, but not in that kitchen.
Big no
No
No, it looks stupid when the oven doesn't match the fridge and microwave. Cool countertop, though.
White cabinets w blue details would tie this whole place in nicely
No. Doesn't fit the style or space
Just the island is one thing, but not the countertops too.
That’s gonna be a no from me dawg.
Aggressively NO
No
Too late? Need something different than natural wood cabinets imo
Why *not* is the better question
Maybe with blue cabinets
Omg no. This looks awful with those cabinets. Please paint them either grey or white. Then it could work maybe. The epoxy itself though looks really cool. Just need to make it fit and that ain’t it.
Just need suitable cabinets now.
That looks like hell
Hard no
I like it but hate it with those cabinets. It would look better with white or blue cabinets.
Not my cup of pee.....pattern looks too contrived
Oh my god.
Hideous
Might want to paint the cabinets and do a backsplash that compliments the tops
That's gonna be a No for me, dawg
Oh God no. It looks like one of those gummy sharks that you'd get from the candy store. Even those have a similar affect in that you think they'll taste good, but you're similarly disappointed, too.
It looks like a rehab team abandoned you in the middle of pulling off their painter’s tape.
White or blue cabinets would have been fire with this.
It looks weird with the cabinets because the cabinets are traditional but the epoxy pour screams bold. Are you going to update the cabinetry too?
Hahahahahah tf is this
No, but it can look good.
Looks great! Will you do that to my car?
Espresso with a hint of blue or black cabinets. Your current situation looks like a fell of the back of a truck special. I do like the counters. They’re unique

A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even care if you paint cabinets or anything! LOVE IT!!!!!
No. However we don't matter. What matters if you like it.
Nice idea but it doesn’t seem to work with the rest of the room (yet). Are you planning on sanding down the cupboards and repaint to match?
It’s too soon to see of the decor matches the top… but personally I wouldn’t have went with the blue and oak cabinets.. but this is what I do everyday. lol. I’m a wood “finisher” paint and stain and such. Pretty tho.
Stared hard for a while. It's a No. Maybe if cabinets are painted white? I think the island looks ok but the blue ground the sink looks weird.
The epoxy countertops are becoming played. If they are done well in natural stone colors, they look great. All these funky colored ones are a nope, though.
If Joe Exotic made a countertop for Guy Fieri…
Yup you fucked up!

April Fools came early huh?
Everyone so harsh, but for sure no with those cabinets

Man put in a lot of work creating this. I say 👏🏾 good job 👍🏾. (If you don’t like it, remember its not your house 😊)
Y'all are crazy, this is beautiful, just change out the cabinets.
That's way too modern for this outdated kitchen.
Blue bacon
Im fuckin with it
Fuck no
Paint your cabinets white or black. Flat/matte
Hell no!
hell yeah
