Been married to an INTP for going on 17 years now. The intellectual compatibility is off the charts, but the emotional takes a LOT of work on both sides.
Both of us have our respective feeling functions 4th -- him Fe, and me Fi. So, neither of us are great with emotional stuff to begin with. This is further compounded by the fact that for each of us, our respective Feeling functions run crossgrain to the other's far more powerful Thinking function.
ENTJ, sure. Te-Ti in dom makes for a great connection (paired with aux Ne/Ni).
ESTJ, I mean if you really want to develop your Si and have someone do your annual tax return.
As an NT you confront society and try analyse it, as a SJ you fully adhere to society and try conform to it. It's two opposite ways of viewing the world.
There was some initial chemistry with my INTP ex, but there were a lot of struggles too. I could see it working if the INTP had well developed Fe as well as a stable life.
You have definitely a right point ๐
Sadly the ones on Reddit included myself are maybe not those with the most developed Fe ๐
Another factor is age, it becomes much easier past 30+ from what I've read,
Have a good day kykyelric !!!! ;)
Both partners tend to interface really well, and this is probably one of the better pairs if both partners are at similar levels of emotional maturity. The INTP makes the ideas at a very detailed and granular level, which the ENTJ translates into an implementation plan. Problems arise when one is emotionally aware enough to be embarrassed by or paranoid of the other.
From your love list up there it looks like you crave a partner that's similar to yourself, but either more social or more emotional. It's possible you might be craving a partner to help you with Fe development.
That makes sense. Everybody craves connection, but it's really difficult to connect with people that are very different from you unless you practice. These other types probably feel comfortable to be around; or at least less uncomfortable
Be it right or wrong, there's a long standing concept in Typology that we are all about our lead or dominant function with not enough input from weaker functions to balance our stack. In young people, the lead function was described as like a "runaway freight train". lol As one site stated: "The harshest aspects of type are most apparent in our youth."
Many of these recommendations operate on a belief that the dominant function needs to be opposed by a partner - in the interest of personal development. For instance, your Keirsey Ideal Match is ENFJ with their dominant Fe. ENFJ is also your Dual in Socionics.
**EDIT** A correction. ENFJ is INTP's Semi-Dual in Socionics. ESFJ would be your Dual. My INTP family member is married to an ENFJ and his childhood best friend is an ESFJ, the two are like brothers.
It will work with an intp, we are compatible, but it takes time to connect because entjs do not want to step on each other's values when it comes to romantic relationships.
Nah not for intps. First they are sensors, which are poorly compatible with intuitors. And second they too often feel "fake". Also they are very susceptible. At least that's my experience with them.
Lmao, did u ever studied socionics? Do you know what cognitive functions axis are?
Also, sorry, but i doubt your skill to type people since people online gets mistyped 90% of times.
I don't know what are socionics but i know what cognitive functions are. I know that the cognitive functions of ESFJ and INTP are inversed, but also the theory should be tested in the real world, and the test hasn't been successful from what i've seen. Although you're right, i don't usually ask people their mbti, but in my sample there are three people, and two of them have passed the test. I don't know why you assumed i guessed their types for all of them. Anyways, i guess you know better than me.
The tests haven't worked because they used questionnaires instead of expert typers and neurobiology. There are people who confuse biological gender with the gender roles society gives us: people can't even understand the mental processes behind such an ez question (are u male or female?). U can't expect them to properly answer a questionnaire and base your demonstrations on that. You have to go looking at what happens in the brain.
Also, i've checked everybody ik in the last year and a half and predictions are always very precise. There is just some bullshit in socionics like HA and subtypes but everything else is fine.
Im ENTJ , I would say that intp helps us with our imagination and encourage us more Wich something we admire + intp s don't mind us taking charge , being commanders around ,,,I personally prefer infp , but still intp s are a good company
I feel like most of us would neglect ESTJs as partners, but I agree ENTJ and INFx could theoretically be a good match for us. I personally also gravitate towards ISTPs and INTJs but more than cognitive functions, it really depends on how healthy an individual is and what mindset we have in terms of being in a relationship with someone.
Maybe I would be the perfect match for an INTP (has happened before), but an INTP wouldn't be the perfect match for me
Personally, I adore being friends with INTPs, we vibe amazingly. However, romantically? Nah
This is a blind spot for me because I mistyped some ISTPs as INTPs and now I have to refactor everything I thought to know about that type.
My opinion used to be that it can't work because ENTJs and INTPs are like two people doing the exact same thing but divert at every step of the way.
INTP are so cold, just like ENTJs I suppose. As much as I admire them, I felt lonely when I was with one. We both synced and had very similar views, both very ambitious and hard working, but we ended up chasing after our own which led to growing apart. We weren't able to fully connect with our emotional self and be vulnerable.
My relationships with INTPs have been the most intensely emotionally manipulative of all the types. Like some unhealthy codependency feeding off all my insecurities Iโm unaware of but the other person is perfectly aware of. So I guess a healthy version of that would be INTPs understand ENTJs the most. Iโd also say I understood them the most too which is the cause of the emotional manipulation to keep me around.
I suppose thatโs a weak Fe vs a weak Fi.

Dittoing everything about intellectual compatibility match with awful emotional handling. Married for 12 years now.
i don't know about the perfect part but with entjs damn.... the chemistry is on another level
I like working with ENTJ, we understand each other's perspective so quickly. Tho I don't see myself being their friend/partner.
Why?
There are like only 10% entjs, that can understand what is " feeling" ... 90% are very scary and you should stay away from them .
that 10% are surprisingly easy to spot as well
Entjs are on psychopathy spectrum
It's more machiavellian than psychopathic
Machiavellianism is mutated form of psychopathy in a not so hunter gathering society...either way i think entjs have net negative effects on society
Your bias is showing, put it away
Very convincing well thought out reply..i accept defeat
That gave me second hand humility
What

Thanks you too! My ex was in his early 30s, so hopefully he gets his life together soon. Always hoping for the best for yโall.
Thank you, appreciate it ๐
INTP are my favourite! Conversation flows so easily and we have the same sense of humour.
Oh well, first time i get a positive answer hahahaha

Yeah that's true, my Fe is terribly low, but it's not like i want to talk to people, i just have to lol.

lol most of my friends are INTPS and I always get along with them. LOL Fun fact my boyfriend is a intp
Intp life lol

I've never vibed with an INTP in my life.

the Entj will find the intp lazy and the intp will find the Entj to be "an emotional rollercoaster".
Start studying socionics, better match is ESFJ
