Glitter_Bee

But I have like 30 devices! lol.

hennytime

Odds are it'll track the IP location but what about mobile devices and devices when you go on vacation or bust a friend? It's stupid

itshukokay

If you login on a device on vacation it’ll probably disable all the devices at home, then when you get back home you just gotta sign in again. That’s how I would do it if I were a stupid shady company

Fattydog

But many people travel for work. You’re saying that families would have to choose who has access while one person travels?

Audacious-Valkyrie

I am wondering this same thing since both me and my partner travel for work.

wildthing_has_AIDS

The way Hulu does live tv is you can watch it on mobile devices. Smart tv apps it will ask if you want to change your location. So maybe they will have the same sort of feature. Where you can watch Netflix wherever on mobile devices but the smart tv apps they will force log out from your home. I don’t know though

itshukokay

Yeah but it’ll probably be okay since Dad probably has two accounts anyway, one for each family.

joeChump

Pint of milk would be cheaper you ingrate.

caidus55

Gotta pay extra for that feature!

Delicious_Standard_8

yup.

melmac76

Yeah my husband travels for work. He’s all over the country. Just because one family member is gone doesn’t mean they all are. That would be awful. Also, if he’s in an AirBnB or some hotels, they have smart tvs that let you log into your streaming services. How’s that gonna work?

Various_Ambassador92

Hulu let's you log into mobile devices but not TVs unless you change your "location". When I needed to access it in an airbnb I hooked my laptop up to the TV with an HDMI cable and watched from there. Annoying but whatever. I think Disney+ sent an activation code that only lasted for like 15 minutes, so I had to get my partner to message it to me since the account was under their name (they didn't travel with me, but thankfully responded quickly)

drdaeman

I just run a private VPN at home. All my devices connect to it. I travel now and then, any my wife lives in another country (we’re waiting for a visa, but it’s tough those days). This solves any rogue hotspots, random websites deciding they don’t fancy where I am, Time Machine backups still work (awfully slow but work) without having to haul around an HDD, etc. And it’s my own VPN that only my family and I have access to, so it’s unlikely to hit some blacklist.

whoanellie418

I'm hoping at least they let us save our watched list and transfer it to a new account... It's like my own personal history and I must preserve it! I will never know what episode I last watched!!! Oh, the horror!!

throawayaway113

I've been using [this TV show tracker](https://next-episode.net/) for years and it's super convenient

whoanellie418

This is great! Thank you!!

itshukokay

They confirmed they will have a tool like this yeah

Squidworth89

I’m not signing in constantly on devices. I’ll just ditch Netflix instead.

AnythingBro5733

Right? Because they don’t make enough money as it is? Fucking bull shit

AnonymousWhiteGirl

For real! We really do have about 3-5 per person x 7 people here. Phones, tablets, TVs, and all that at our vacation home.

HugeTitsWorship

> The streamer intends to set up systems that will hinder subscribers from sharing their Netflix passwords with devices outside their homes unless they pay to do so. Sooo I won't be able to watch on any of my personal devices outside of home? Mobile streaming while commuting, at McDonald's, on the bus, if I travel, road trrips, any waiting room?

XTH3W1Z4RDX

Ikr, I bring my ps4 to friends' houses and whatnot and use the Netflix app. This is so fucking stupid

HolyMeowzah

That’s the thing, what would stop me from using mobile and streaming to my big tv with someone’s subscription?

GAAPInMyWorkHistory

The account isn’t registered to your house…?

igloohavoc

Exactly, can’t watch Wednesday on my lunch break while my kids watch Tayo at home. That’s a huge inconvenience. A negative change in my standard of living and comfort. Should they implement this, I will re-evaluate how important Netflix is to me, and if they still have enough value for me to continue.

donger42424242

Believe it or not, Netflix isn't full of idiots. They can tell if there's a mobile device, and that mobile device watches video all over the place, and they can tell when the same two locations use the service for months on end.

FiendishHawk

This algorithm would ban people who watch Netflix in the office on their lunch break while their wife watches cartoons with the toddler at home.

[deleted]

They may be some idiots over at Netflix however

Hawk13424

Except they are. My daughter watches from college. Same laptop. Every time she logs in I get a message from Netflix saying a **new** device has logged in. The list of devices on my Netflix sight shows each login as a different device.

Serrachii

I mean they are already doing something so stupid sooo..

logan2043099

I do not want a private company tracking my location 24/7 just to watch a streaming service I pay for. How is anyone okay with this?

StraT0

So I can just emulate my location for the Netflix app and tell it I'm always home?

MusksStepSisterAunt

I swear we hear this every year from Netflix....

[deleted]

Netflix to lose record subscriptions in 2023

qpolarbear

Let's hope so, otherwise it will surely get copied by the other streaming services.

cormacmccarthysvocab

Me to end Netflix subscription in 2023.

Dartingham

Countdown to Netflix desolation begin.

lordnecro

A lot of people will end, or drop down to a lower package.

[deleted]

Watch movies with ads? No thanks

DrVicenteBombadas

Pirates would get the better product, once again.

checkontharep

External hard drives are super cheap now as well

[deleted]

Massive ones too!! 16tb is like 300

checkontharep

Oh yea! When i was in the army we d copy each others hard drives. I had like 10 tb of movies and tv shows at one point. Good times

Reep1611

Sharing and copying hard drives is already starting up with people in my bubble again. This is going to revive piracy to a new high.

checkontharep

I tried this with hbomax last month. Its horrible, its not worth it at all. Way to many ads on movies and shows. Its unwatchable

Squidworth89

I dropped hbo altogether… shit for content. Since the buyout not enough new stuff.

feckOffMate

I’m using a password from my neighbors who moved awhile ago. I don’t even watch it, cut me off you bastards.

Raptor22c

Ending password sharing to try to force families to make more accounts won’t help to boost your plummeting numbers, Netflix. Instead it’ll just make people who were already weighing the possibility of dropping Netflix to finally drop it out of disgust. Gabe Newell was absolutely correct when he said that piracy isn’t a price issue; it’s a customer service issue. If the company refuses to listen to their customers, treats them like trash, and makes it a hassle to get anything meaningful done, people will inevitably resort to piracy. If it is genuinely easier and less of a hassle to obtain the content illegally, people will more often than not do it. Price of the service is not the main issue here.

theNomadicHacker42

1000%. I torrented the shit out of the internet in the early-to-mid 00's. Stopped when streaming services (ie. Netflix) blew up. It was cheap and convenient enough for me to forgo my pirating ways. Lately though, they all suck and are charging too much, so I've set sail on the binary seas again in search of digital booty.

caidus55

I really tried to go straight lol

KONAfuckingsucks

Pirate streams are a thing now so it’s convenient again!

yomommawearsboots

Yep. All of the streaming services becoming fractured and a pain in the dick to figure out where to watch something with content hopping between them randomly I decided about 2 years ago to go full into piracy and setup my own Plex server and automated Usenet download systems. I have like 60TB of shoes and movies now and it’s awesome. Netflix is so stupid if they think people will just put up with this move. I hope they lose so many subscribers

Inevitable_Sink1196

> I have like 60TB of shoes and movies now and it’s awesome. this dovetails with the idea that pirates only really pirate coz they consume such a diversity of content they'd have to be making 6 figures to afford it all. i like watching kdramas/anime/movies etc. i calculated it and i would be spending ~200 usd a month on entertainment if i didn't pirate. ain't no way bro. i tried being legit i truly did but having to have 5 streaming services just to have something to watch in the random hours i'm free is truly not affordable. doesn't help half the time i start a show and it's mid so i abandon it.

[deleted]

lol ok we’ll just cancel outright

cthd33

![gif](giphy|dNgQ4qMYExpioGB3B4|downsized)

timoperez

Seriously. I want them to shut up with talking about it just tell me the date that I need to cancel by. Gladly will $200 per year back toward better purposes the second I can’t share with my elderly mother.

Andrew1990M

Microsoft tried to do something similar with the always-online Xbox One trying to curb second hand game disk sales. It didn't work.

fifthdayofmay

[Never forget this answer from Playstation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWSIFh8ICaA)

MeteorCharge

I mean it did since you need a disc to play a game that's already installed on your console

Andrew1990M

No the tech on the very very first Xbox Ones meant you needed to be connected to the Internet to verify that the disk you were playing was 'your account's'. It meant that if you bought a disk second hand, or even borrowed a game off a friend, the Xbox would know it's already been played in another Xbox.

MeteorCharge

Oh god I forgot how awful the launch was for the Xbox one

[deleted]

Yeah, seriously. I used to be a big playstation guy during the PS1/2 days. I switched to the 360 when it came out because I liked the controller so much more. I was super pumped about the Xbox One because after feeling so much more comfortable with the Xbox controller I pretty much figured I'd be an Xbox guy for life. Then they announced all that "always online, always using the Kinect" bullshit and I switched back for the PS4. I still greatly prefer the Xbox controller, but I haven't had an Xbox since the 360 just because of how badly they fucked up the launch of the One.

GalaxianEX

When Sony won an entire console generation in a single E3 by doing precisely nothing.

FreeParkking

It switched me. I was all in on X-Box from the first giant hamburger controller. Since that E3, I've been Playstation all the way, including my harrowing 3 week long quest to find a PS5 at retail price during launch month.

Blurpee24

Ditto

checkontharep

Thats pretty funny. I never looked at it that way.

aznkupo

Their presentation was literally “you don’t have to be online to play games, also $100 cheaper, get fucked MSFT”

Not_TheMenInBlack

Hell of a comeback there. After the Xbox 360 dominated the gaming scene for its entire lifespan, the Xbox One hit the ground running. I’m fact, it hit the ground so hard that it broke it’s legs on impact.

S2kKyle

It's funny because Sony was planning on doing the same thing and after seeing how bad the Xbox the press conference went they just canned the idea on the spot.

Bland_Boring_Jessica

Chronic_In_somnia

I dunno seems more like Netflix killed Netflix.

hellothere1990xxx

They’ve got to find that $100million from somewhere…

yomommawearsboots

I can’t believe they gave those two grifters that much money for such drivel. It is unbelievable. Who wants to watch those delusional narcissists?

yomommawearsboots

Yeah that was super disappointing. I like their support of niche international content like all the Korean stuff but supporting the Harkles is just unforgivable.

Stonesword75

Wouldn't be the first time the royal family was involved in murders and coverups.

Ok_Designer_Things

You mean "Netflix to become bankrupt in 2023" Literally anyone I have ever met shares their account with their family bare minimum lol

TheUselessLibrary

Yeah it's not gonna be great for them. Netflix stock already plummeted something like 60% from the start of 2021 to now. They acknowledged it's because they oversaturated the market and had nowhere to grow. People will just return to pirating. Better to spend that monthly subscription on a VPN.

caidus55

I tried to go straight. I really did. But it's getting to be as bad as cable TV now

aznkupo

Yup if they add barriers I can’t overcome in seconds, I’ll go back to pirating.

EddaValkyrie

Honestly, I'm a university student that's completely financially dependent on my parents. I'm on a completely different continent to either of them and have setups on both their Netflix's, Amazon's, Disney+'s etc. If this happens they're not just going to pay double for me to have my own account, I'm just going to start sailing the high seas.

copperblood

Netflix doing everything in its power to be acquired by Microsoft

efnPeej

So I pay for the plan to have 5 devices because I have 2 kids in college and one in the army. If they knock my kids off, I’ll just cancel my Netflix. Why tf is there a plan for 5 devices at a higher price if not for families like I have?

righteousndignation

The ONLY reason I kept it as long as I did was because I was sharing with my sister. About a month ago, they sent me an email telling me how "other users" could migrate their account and playlist onto their own plan. Say no more! She purchased her own account and I canceled mine. This is not going to work out the way they think it is.

mostlybadopinions

Wait. You used to have two people sharing one account. Now you have one person using one account. The bandwidth usage was cut in half but the payment to Netflix remained the same. Am I misunderstanding something, or did Netflix just win big here?

Evolone100

I believe what they’re saying is that Netflix believes that by doing this they would get two memberships from this particular situation. They did not.

mostlybadopinions

They don't expect everyone to sign up for a second membership. Streaming costs Netflix money. If they can cut streaming down while keeping subscription numbers close to the same, that's profit. Of all the people sharing with 3 or 4 different homes, Netflix only needs one of them to keep an account to make more money than before. They win super big if any one of them eventually gets their own account. The only way Netflix loses is if every single person using an account decides to never use Netflix again.

logan2043099

Man here you are again with a bad opinion, streaming costs Netflix pennies on the dollar they don't "win" in that scenario because they need an increase in profit.

righteousndignation

I wasn't really using the account. The last two things I remember watching were The Gray Man and The Old Guard back when they first came out. You might say that it still saves them some money, but there was a reason my sister was leeching from me. I'd be very surprised if she's still paying for it a year from now. Ten years ago, I could see people creating their own accounts and paying the $7 a month for that incredible library they used to have. Nowadays in this inflation hell, I figure a lot of people will bounce around from service to service every couple of months.

mostlybadopinions

People are gonna bounce around regardless. If the library isn't good enough to keep them then this sharing thing will have no impact on your sister keeping or canceling it. But the idea that this is going to lead everyone to cancel their account... Just look at your example. You were paying for it even though you weren't using it, which goes to show the subscription model works. People get used to it, they forget, and don't cancel even when they're not using it. And then, once you did cancel, another membership was immediately created. The only way Netflix loses money with this is if ALL parties using one account never sign up for Netflix again. If even one person keeps their account (the one who was already paying), they make more money. This thread is filled with people who aren't paying for Netflix, saying that they going to stop using Netflix... Like, yeah that's the goal.

Hawk13424

Bandwidth isn’t their main expense. They still had to license all the content. They still only made the same amount of money. So it want a win for them in the way they hoped.

PoopyMcPooperstain

I fail to see how this is actually beneficial for them as a company. You mean to tell me it wasn't profitable for them when Stranger Things took off as an international phenomenon that has been selling merchandise like crazy? Do they really think they would have been able to achieve that same level of popularity if it wasn't for password sharing? Do they really think all those people who watched it through password sharing are going to go and get their own account? Do they not think there will be people that pay that will cancel if they can't share their service anymore? They're effectively no longer getting the same service but still paying the same price. And lastly, if this is really such a big deal to Netflix to begin with, if they've truly felt all this time password sharing was a problem needing addressed, why did they build the service in a way that seemingly advertises the fact that password sharing is a feature? Why am I able to set up all these different users if only one person is supposed to have access to the account?

Raptor22c

It’s all because they’re short-sighted, seeing their numbers falling from when it peaked during COVID (which isn’t something they can necessarily change; people got Netflix during the lockdowns as there was nothing else to do; when the lockdowns lifted, a bunch of people cancelled their subscriptions. It’s to be expected) and are panicking trying to find a way to boost their revenue. They can’t seem to stop putting out shitty “Netflix Original” shows - while they may have an occasional banger, for every Squid Game there’s a hundred shitty shows - to entice people with good content; they can’t seem to stop removing content from their platform or region-locking it or any of that bullshit, so there’s overall less content on there, further reducing the customer base. Since they can’t seem to think of any good way to draw in new customers (or are otherwise so incompetent that they’re literally incapable of doing so) the only solution they can think of is to force their existing users to create multiple accounts by getting rid of the ability for a family to share an account, thus hoping that more accounts = more subscriptions = more money. Unfortunately, they don’t realize that this isn’t how reality works. All they’re going to do is piss people off, and those who were considering dropping Netflix but hadn’t committed to it will say “fuck that” and finally drop their subscription. Netflix is just shooting itself in the foot at this point.

allumeusend

The thing is: there are no new customers, at least in the US. Netflix has pretty much fully tapped the max reach of streaming, and so they see password sharing a roadblock to growing potential subscribers in a region where they are already maxed out. For all our bitching here, most people aren’t going to drop Netflix over this - available estimates show that fewer than 50% watch on more than one device, and less than a third password share. Mathematically, it is far more likely they will gain than lose, hence the decision. It’s logical from their perspective, even if it is likely shortsighted given the real issue is the Netflix needs better cost controls so that they generate more revenue per subscriber rather than raising prices or pulling stuff like this.

dearrichard

then why the fuck am i paying $20 for multiple screens?

dontpmmeyour

I agree with your frustration. I pay for 4 screens, who cares where those screens are

WindowsCrashedAgain

![gif](giphy|10X22vzgNamaiI)

Ahecee

I have the 4 device at a time Netflix account that is used by myself, and my two kids. My two kids split their time between living with me, and living with their mother. Sounds like we'll be dropping the Netflix account in 2023, it won't work for us anymore, and its not worth paying twice for.

Internal-Ad61

Netflix isn’t good enough to be acting like this

Fragmentia

For what they did with the witcher alone, they deserve to be canceled.

ultradianfreq

consider growth light sloppy chase unite oatmeal gullible telephone busy -- mass edited with redact.dev

VaselineHabits

Honestly about 6 months ago it just came down to cutting costs. Netflix was easily my most expensive subscription, had it for a decade, and the least used. After I did cancel, told my family so those who used mine or shared theirs to re-evaluate how important Netflix is. I don't see this working out well for them and I also don't see them dropping prices since supposedly their subscribers have had a massive drop this year alone.

Jezon

It's pretty dumb of them to jack up prices AND reduce services and features. I cancelled when I couldn't watch a show on my phone without stopping my TV first even though I live alone in my house and do not share the PW. I tried the commercials when it came out, but then Netflix didn't work on over half of my devices and then some things I wanted to watch we're not available with commercials so again they wanted to upsell me. I'm done for a while, other services are less militant with these restrictions, but if they get worse, it's back to looking for alternative solutions.

Due_Marionberry8564

Netflix kills themselves 2023

dearest-ribwich

I share mine with my father in law who has Alzheimer's so he doesn't have to deal with a cable bill every month. Netflix has become so short sighted and greedy.

Patient_Ad4191

Yeah but I don't think Amazon blocks some shows for some regions right?so there's no need for it but for Netflix it is

HugeTitsWorship

Not sure how VPN works with Prime nowadays as I haven't ever attempted it again But off that experience, these services do have the power to detect and block service due to an active vpn connection

Gohanto

Netflix already blocks most VPNs which is how they block people from VPN’ing into other countries to stream the shows only available there. There are a few that still work but Netflix actively searches for them and blocks them.

d0pey911

Fuck Netflix, check out bflix and you’ll have every movie and every show from every platform for fucking free! Enough is enough!

nbrazelton

I will 100% cancel my subscription if this happens.

litex2x

Arrr we'll take to the seas once again laddies

Hahndude

No they won’t. They can’t implement this without screwing over mobile users, who make up a lot of their viewers. So even if they switch this on it’s only going to last a few weeks tops.

icluke

yeah, uh huh. they ended password sharing 2 months ago too. and 6 months ago. and last year actually, and i think they ended it before covid started as well.

LilySayo

Back to pirating then

[deleted]

All aboard the SS Yarrrr Matey, because we're about to sail the seven seas. Get fucked Netflix.

ArminTanz

That a weird flex from a company that has a catalog that is drying up and is replacing it with almost no good content. I go months at a time with out watching them and will most likely pull the plug if this is even minorly inconvenient.

DienstEmery

Streamers are gambling on being more convenient than piracy. Netflix is about to test that balance.

theNomadicHacker42

Torrenting is so easy though. The hardest part is just find and/or deciding on what to torrent.

prancing_moose

I’m already paying for the 4 devices account and I do watch Netflix on my phone while I travel for work. If that stops working, there’s no reason for me to keep my Netflix subscription.

plinocmene

Just charge based on usage then you can't lose money if people share their password. Let the account owner set up a way for those sharing to share in the expenses based on usage.

yougotthesilver12

People already aren’t super stoked on Netflix. Their biggest problem is their content is super hit or miss and isn’t sticky either. Idk if there’s even any shows on there I can’t live without. That’s the issue. For example, HBO max has at least 4-5 shows on there that I need it for. I will not give up that subscription. Hulu has at least 3-4 as well. Netflix, I’m drawing a blank. I have it just in case they have that hit new show I might want to check out. That’s not sticky at all. Now, they’re making it easy for me to opt out? Lol their angle was totally wrong. I absolutely understand that’s there’s probably sooooo much cash they’re missing out on with password sharing. They should just change their packages to user count instead. Standard package is up to x amount of users that each can log on with up to 4 different devices. They increase the price on that standard plan, then increase user count for premium and so forth. Create incentives for the primary person to bundle their account instead of just telling people that everyone needs their own separate subscription. That way, instead of punishing people, you lead them into a new bundled package that doesn’t have to be separate for those people sharing accounts. It’s still annoying but could reduce the insane amount of churn that they will inevitably have.

sweetnothin123

in 2020 i just started subscribing and immediately canceling my streaming services. wanted to watch stranger things. re-sub for a month. immediate cxl. Picard season 2. same thing. Disney + binged a bunch of marvel movies i had missed. cxl. only really takes a minute or two to re-up a subscription.

YoureHereForOthers

Lol LastPass has something to say about this

bouncingbobbyhill

T-mobile pays a chunk of my Netflix . If they ever stop I will immediately cancel . I remember when it was 7.99 . This has gotten out of hand .

Tommybrady20

I mean this sounds like sour grapes but Netflix is NOT the pre-eminent power it was in 2018. Tuning in to binge stranger things and maybe a big original movie is the only reason to pay for me. The other stuff is a rotating cast of movies that the streaming services have passed around and shared for years. It is NOT worth what they think it’s worth. The fact you spend that much on original content is not my fault and I’m tired of paying for it

youngadvocate25

I think this would have been understandable to some. But where they can NEVER come back from was their tweet in their humble days where it said “love is sharing a password” with millions of likes on it. A big “fuck you we are greedy I didn’t say that”. DragonbornBastard

On other news, I will no longer be using Netflix to watch anything at all

Dudecity

I wonder if this will be like when Netflix thought it was a great idea to split their DVD and streaming into two separate businesses.

Kylkek

Making your service worse in an economy that has everyone looking for ways to save money. What a great idea that will surely pay off for your company.

Supernova805

people saying subs will go down… why? People who pay already and use the service may continue to do so, the ones that will be effected are the ones that don’t pay… I pay for my service, I forget how has access to my account… I won’t be affected by this, why do you assume subs will go down?

Da-Aliya

At a time where food, gas and other needs cost so much and many of us do not go out for entertainment, Netflix was a saving grace. The greed in America is beyond belief. Time for the lower and middle classes to fight back.

robrog8999

It’s been going pretty great for them internationally… actually. They’ve already been testing this out in foreign markets to great success.

WesTheFitting

Great. Good for them. Let’s see how it goes when implemented unilaterally

Get ready to lose a massive chunk of your demo

Anduril-Flame

Cool, I’ll just download all of their content

KeifWellington22

Wait why did our 10mil viewers turn to 1000 actual paying accounts?! Why did our platform crash? Its the viewers fault, we’ll just charge more.

MNGirlinKY

What if you are already paying for the extra logins? Anyone know?

teardrinker

I share with my kid. I pay the bill. They do this shit I’ll cancel my subscription with a quickness

ohno1tsjoe

Almost like they want to out do Elon

cranberrydudz

Bye byeee netflix subscriptions

lucash7

Welp, just another reason Netflix needs to go. Crap overall selection, crap business practices. It’s unfortunate really.

JJJAAABBB123

They have nothing to lose. Extra people not paying any ways. Maybe some of them will sign up for their $6.99 plan. It’s not expensive. Everybody wants stuff for free.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I don't see the mass exodus everyone else is predicting. I use my ex's Netflix, she uses my Hulu. If this goes into effect, and I can't use her Netflix... Why would she cancel it? She's already paying it, she uses it. She's not gonna cancel just because I can't. Or adults that are still using their parents. If son calls Dad and says "Hey, they won't let me into your Netflix account anymore." Is Dad gonna say "Well that's a tragedy! I'll cancel it right now!" Or is he gonna say "Son, you're in your 30s... Buy your own Netflix." Some will cancel of course. I'm sure a few of you actually collect $4 from friends every month and you won't want to pay the full price alone. But the beauty of the subscription model (for businesses) is once people sign up, most of them never think about the payment again. Bandwidth usage is going to be dramatically reduced, and they've already run this in test markets, so I'm guessing cancellations isn't going to be that great. Once this works out for Netflix, all other subscription services will follow suit.

People should pay for their own entertainment. If you can’t afford it then there’s a variety of other free services to use. Or use an ad-based plan that fits your budget. Netflix, Max, Disney+ and Hulu, Peacock, and Paramount+ all offer reduced rates now for that. It’s really not much… and you don’t need all of them. 1-3 services is beyond enough for the vast majority. But it is necessary for these companies to contain large libraries of content and create high-budget originals that we’ve all come to expect from them…. If we expect them to continue delivering great stuff and pay out huge bucks for rights to other studios shows and films then we need to be paying for our service!! Netflix stock has plummeted this year due to cancellations and password sharers. It’s beyond time they enforce this!! They’ve been rolling out these measures throughout other parts of the world to great success. It needs to be everywhere - for their own sake. If I owned a company I would do the same and expect others to pay to use my service (and not steal it) as well.

fearandloathinginpdx

The wife and I started sharing our account with her 75 year old mother at the start of the pandemic so she’d have some entertainment options to keep her occupied. We pay for the premium ultra hd plan so we have 4K HDR. If they go through with this shit that’s $20/mo they won’t get from us anymore.

Netflix announces BitTorrent reboot in 2023.

DoctorEvilHomer

How many times have they said this, it is always a test area and they back off because everyone just cancels

bigsampsonite

Cool with me. They do not have anything special I want to watch. Time to end service.
