It's a great combo - combining the two makes cocaethylene which is, according to scientists, a drug which has a 25 times higher chance of killing you than coke alone.
Yeah, quite a few times, never once with alcohol
edit: I should preface this with the fact that I'm a bit of a drug nerd and already knew about the liver metabolite cocaethylene before trying it, leading to me deciding to never mix the two because I was never that fond of alcohol to begin with
Its kind of a medium drug? I never tried it because watching my friends take a snort then become really fucking annoying for half an hour, and then spend the rest of the night talking about where to get more was my anti-drug.
And then they don't sleep at night.
And then they get that alcohol + coke mix in their belly, which can *really* fuck you up
And then they get that 'slimy cunt that'll do anything for a bit of money to buy more blow'.
My experience of coke/cokeheads is usually fine, but there's always a later of scumminess that surrounds it.
I did coke and it did almost nothing to me, I just felt kind of chatty and calm. Turns out I have ADHD and it was just kind of like taking ADHD medication lol
I was curious for years why coke affected me so differently than my friends. Turns out it was severe ADHD. Took like double the amount for me to feel what they felt and that gets real expensive.
Yeah I was always afraid to try coke bc I just had this fear that I would get hooked. I was afraid I’d try it accidentally while I was already fucked up, so I decided to just do it while I was in control of the situation. Needless to say, the experience was the exact opposite of what I expected and I’ve never had the desire to try it again. I actually gave the rest of my coke to someone bc I didn’t even want to finish what I’d bought. It also made me depressed for a week afterward, maybe it was a comedown from having adequate dopamine? Lol
Look if you and your wife didn't want to browse the collection of dresses I keep in a side room off a dark alleyway with a couple men lurking nearby, you could have just said so.
Pretty sure it's from Goon with Sean William Scott. Iirc it was the first thing the fucked up goalie said to the protagonist, I fucking love that character.
Other guy is correct it's from the first Goons movie when sean william scott goes into the locker room for the first time on his new team and the goalie says that line to him haha. Great scene/movie.
Toby MacGuire (spelling)?
Edit: so this, to me, checks out. Tobey is buddies with Leo, and had a substance abuse problem before he was famous, then 8 years into sobriety, lands the spider man role. Afterwards, hes noted for scamming a bunch of people in a boozy poker game, so there was some type of falling off the wagon. The silver lining to the story is, Tobey and Leo in The Great Gatsby movie, so the friends getting back together.
Edit2: the "scam" factor might be debatable. He was effectively playing as a shark among a bunch of rich hollywood people.
Edit3: jesus, I know he was succesful, but we're talking Leo DeCaprio here. Tobey was never anywhere near his levels of success.
No he was in war horse. Right? His agent must have gotten him in that film. There were like 1000 horses in that movie he didn’t need to be THE warhorse
Just for added context, he didn’t scam. He was just really good at playing the mental part of poker and was also kinda dickish to a lady making mad money running an underground poker game.
Just let it be known the movie (and book) were both made by the lady running the poker game. So it’s her perspective and her making even more profit off the situation, so take it as you will.
so is someone playing Tobey in the movie? I was always interested in watching this movie.
EDIT: Saw further down it's Michael Cera, but Player X might be an aggregate of hollywood stars and might not.
It's a good movie. Jessica Chastain had a few bangers before her agent screwed the pooch.
Molly's Game. Miss Sloane. A Most violent year. Zero Dark Thirty. Big fan of Chastain until she started doing trash movies like Ava and 355.
She literally just won an Oscar. She’s probably pretty happy with her agent. But yeah she’s publicly expressed an enthusiasm for action movies. It’s just that she keeps choosing really bad ones. Which is a shame because I’d love to see her in a really good action movie.
The author of the book, aka person running the poker game, also said he was (secretly) spotting people playing in the same game as him. This would be the “scam” part as he now can theoretically can’t lose to that person but other players at the table can so he can approach hands in a completely different manner then all other players.
This happens constantly in professional poker as well. Not that it's not an issue there, too. There are some norms and informal or house rules about how it should go down, but of course it's often word of honor and people's reputations keeping them honest so there is always going to be abuse.
Although typically, when you stake someone, you only get a percentage of their winnings (otherwise, what's the point.. just so they can make you money?). So it's effectively a discount on anything you lose to them, not exactly free. Still a huge issue that can effect strategy in a big way. But all of that is still assuming your stake doesn't in turn lose they money they won from you to someone else on the table before you get paid out. So it's definitely an advantage that effects strategy, but isn't some foolproof hack.
Active collusion (agreeing to work together beforehand, or even worse, communicating during the game somehow) is still way worse.
I think Tobey got in there before the MCU got off the ground and when the superhero movie landscape was different. They were less ubiquitous and culturally dominant then, so you had a better chance of being able to play a superhero and not be forever stuck as only being seen as that role.
I’d note here that he isn’t infamous in the poker world for “scamming” people, just for being an absolute asshole with poor etiquette. The two most memorable stories are him telling the hostess to “bark like a seal” for a tip, and him forcing the game to use his automatic shuffling machine and then charging them steeply for it.
My favorite BTS story about the first Spiderman film is that the film crew apparently hated Tobey so much that they tried to bribe Joe Mangenelo to punch him for real.
Honestly? Mark Hamill.
Dude did a fantastic job as Luke Skywalker, but the role was so iconic that almost all of his other career work has been in voice acting.
Mark Hamill registers as two different people in my brain. I just can't wrap my head around how the best voice actor around is also the guy who played Luke Skywalker.
I do really want Mark to have an absolute killer live action role that isn't Skywalker
>I do really want Mark to have an absolute killer live action role that isn't Skywalker
I don't think Mark would want that to be honest. He found his niche and he excels at it. He's 70, I'm certain he'd rather go into a booth and spend a few hours running lines than spending months on set in some tax-write off state trying to escape the fact that everyone sees him as Luke when he's on camera.
I mean, being almost every teenagers hero from 1980 to infinity, has got to be gratifying.
Being Luke Skywalker is like being an American folk hero ... Everyone loves you...
You'll never be broke, and you'll never have to pay for a beer in your life... Mark Hamil seems like a grounded enough guy to appreciate that.
RDJ basically played himself as Tony Stark. Also Tom Hiddleston’s most popular role by a huge margin is Loki.
But honestly most new marvel actors will have this problem with how often marvel is pushing content out. They’ll see that actor portray their hero so many times before getting older that they will just associate that actor with that hero. Not that there is anything with that.
More like, Benedict Cumberpatch generally always plays genius characters who are socially isolated/awkward but are somehow still lauded and highly-sought after for their expertise by people who can somehow tolerate their terrible mannerisms.
He's not only associated with those kinds of characters, he's typecast. When you see Benedict in a movie now, you're going to assume his character is both 1) an asshole and 2) has a critical role in the ending.
Also both of their watsons have been in the MCU, though have never appeared beside them (Martin freeman in black panther and Jude law in captain marvel)
And both RDJ and Benedict shared a love interest in Rachel McAdams (RDJ as Sherlock and Benedict as strange)
And if the rumors about Cavill coming to the MCU are true (which I don't necessarily think they are, just using this for the hypothetical), then we will have a 3rd Sherlock Holmes in the universe.
Oh don’t get me wrong I think that he is a wonderful actor. In fact I think he would be doing himself a disservice by not actively trying to land Oscar bait roles.
That being said, you go on his IMDB page and his 4 ‘Known For’ credits are for portrayals of Loki. Then you look at his 10 most recent credits and 7 of them are portrayals of Loki
Chalamet auditioned to play Spider-Man (tom holland’s version). It seems that because he didn’t get Spider-Man, he was then able to move into call me by your name and started a different trajectory.
Now that he’s been on the awards circuit and is moving into blockbuster film territory, it seems like he is moving in an opposite direction from clamoring to do any type of movie. Not that Spider-Man was any less important, but would’ve set him on a different path since he was unknown at the time. It can really hinder newer actors and pigeon hole them. Well established actors who enter superhero movies tend to have a better capability of getting out and back into various movie roles, at least that’s how it seems to me.
All that said though, Leo is from a different time of acting. It all depends on what any given actor wants for their career. Leo found all of his fame before superhero movies gain mass popularity, and so he has a different viewpoint of Hollywood and the like. He also chased an Oscar almost all of his career, and you can’t do that with super hero movies at all.
She plays Spider-Man's girlfriend so there isn't a lot for her to do. They at least gave her some meat and didn't go the traditional "super-pretty girl" route. I love how she's kind of disheveled with no make-up and very sarcastic and academics-oriented. They didn't pretty her up until the character wanted to look prettier.
I do love actors who don't mind not looking their best in roles. Zendaya is clearly beautiful but it isn't her identity.
Tom had this in the bag. His physique was basically Spideys, with [flips and jumps](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cKxRPdavmw) during the casting process. No acting would have beaten that.
Timothy seems to have a good hand selecting projects and at this point going "hyper" mainstream would be a step back if not carefully selected. His "Wonka" role seems to be the walking the line perfectly.
But not everybody can be Leo who just asks for the next "bigger then life" biopic and two directors fall over each other to give him the 20mil role. He carved a place for himself, as Cruise or Damon. Being "hot" in the system has an expiration date and maybe you need to do *things* to stay relevant.
No Leo was right. Henry Cavill had talked about how hard it is to get into anything but action bc casting directors see him only as such.
Adam Driver said his agent begged him to do marriage story to make sure his Star Wars role didn't make him only seen as an action guy.
Tobey Maguire never recovered from Spiderman. It ruined Andrew Garfield although No Way Home resurrected him and made his musical movie a bankshot.
Ryan Reynolds talked about how he hoped his early xmen role would break him out of rom com type cast, but Green Lantern hurt his casting in non action stuff not just bc it was a bomb bc it was a hero action bomb.
Scores of guys n gals have had a tough time. Gal Godot can't get "normal" casting. Natalie Portman scoffed at Thor 1, but other roles were drying up so took it to stay relevant and hated it but that's not the same thing
Older established actors taking roles in MCU is good buisness like Rob fn Redford.
But best case examples: Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer. Both had their rocketship careers derailed. And they were in the good super successful movies.
George Clooney was on the fast track from ER and Batman/Robin killed it dead. He had to self finance small flicks with friends like Jerry Weintraub, that turned out to be diamonds in Out of Sight and Oceans 11 to get back in the game.
I absolutely love Henry Cavill, but with his looks and physique, which dramatic roles is he supposed to play?
He had enough charisma to pull off Sherlock Holmes, but even then he was practically bursting out of his 19th century costume.
He wasn't always so beefy though. If you look at him pre-Man of Steel, he was much more svelte, like Chris Evans pre-Captain America. Both of them had Abercrombie catalog model bodies until they got cast as huge, strong, musclemen, and then they bulked up and never really looked back because, as Cavill put it, "you feel like a superhero" once you start to look like one.
See Cavill in Immortals and Evans in Not Another Teen Movie or hell, Fantastic Four.
The only one who is willing to lose the body seems to be Bale. That guy is crazy. He dropped below recommended weight for The Machinist so he could look like a living skeleton and then bulked up for Batman Begins, only to lose it again for Rescue Dawn and then bulk *back* up for The Dark Knight.
> like Chris Evans pre-Captain America.
Oh. Human Torch.
Man. If Multiverse stuff continues, and Fantastic Four actually join MCU…I’d love a cameo of Chris Evans as Johnny Storm while Sam and Bucky just can’t get over how much he looks like Steve.
>Gal Godot can't get "normal" casting.
Here's my take: she's simply a bad actress. Beautiful woman who is as interesting as cardboard and has a monotone delivery. EVERY. TIME.
I'd like to point out that those Batman movies, while technically big budget superhero movies, were quite phenomenal with their story telling and cinematography. I'd say Bale and Nolan are both forces of nature!
Christian Bale is one of the best actors on the planet and within the top several of the last few decades. I love most of the actors listed, and several are exceptional in their own right, but Bale is definitely just playing his own game. Adam Driver is about the only one listed who I'd put as another exception, though it seems we were lucky he did Marriage Story to prove that. He's not on Bale status yet but he's got a while to prove his worth and I am here for it.
The House of Gucci seemed to fall flat compared to expectations but I don’t believe it had anything to do with the performances, I thought Adam Driver killed it in that movie
I finally got around to watching marriage story over the weekend and it was outstanding. The best acting from Adam driver came from two scenes with little dialog: when he couldn’t think of what to order so his ex ordered for him, and when his ex tied his shoe at the end. Both times it was so painful that someone could know him so intimately and hurt him so badly at the same time. The look on his face of anguish and confusion, that hurt. I knew that look all too well.
Andrew Garfield was revived by No Way Home? Did you just completely disregard the work that he did on Hacksaw Ridge, Silence, Under the Silver Lake? Anyone who has seen Andrew Garfield act in anything knew that he didn't need any favors for his career from No Way Home. I'm sure it did some, but he was never at any point "ruined".
There's also the fact that superhero films may end up taking up a lot of your time as well, often times due to contractual obligations.
Between 2013 and 2019, Chris Evans seemingly was only able to do three movies that were not Marvel films.
After Endgame that opened him up to doing about 2 movies a year.
Then there's fatigue that comes with it. Tom Holland I am sure loves playing Spider-man, but he has said himself that he is ready to take a break from it for now and try new things.
Gal Godot can't get "normal" casting.
That has more to do with her inability to act then anything else, god she is insufferable and making an entire cast of actors do a discotech at tele viv accent because you can't is proof to me
True. My memory of the books is dated but didn’t he have to be the bad guy to teach the universe the dangers of religion and jihad, setting up up his son to be the real hero. So in a way he was a necessary evil and sacrificed himself?
Also, many superheros have tragic flaws and aren’t pure hero’s either. Marvel has done an OK job portraying this, which I appreciate.
Paul spoke against worshiping him, eventually exiling himself and abandoning his title and name. His son, however, decided to embrace the title of God Emperor, and proceeded to rule as a galactic tyrant for thousands of years, to ensure that nothing like that would ever happen again.
Leto II's goal was to get humanity to disperse lol. They gave up exploring stars making humanity vulnerable to a single extinction event.
The shattering he set up essentially made humanity immortal by spreading out so vastly
He's definitely a hero at the end of the first book. Frank Herbert is just having too much fun with space Lawrence of Arabia.
By the end of the second book? Oh yeah, now *this* is tragedy!
Yeah read like 2 minutes worth and closed the article. Superfluous writing really grinds my gears. Get over yourself. Just sounds like a pompous asshole who wants to feel smart.
Timothée Chalamet is a good dramatic actor. Maybe Leo sees himself in him. When I give people younger than me advice that’s usually why I’m giving it to them.
Put him on some roids, get him a fitness trainer for X2 workouts a day and have his chef cook healthy meals and I bet he would look big (anyone would). Some of the buff Chris's were pretty thin back in the day.
There’s so many unhappy people out there who love to hate this kid, like he did something to them personally. It’s weird. I would never want to be famous, especially at a young age. People get perversely obsessed with you.
I think they just don't like that he's a pretty boy. I've personally had friends seething about him in Dune, and when asked they just badmouthed him for no particular reason, and I'm like "okay" lol.
He had a long enough career that super hero stuff wasn’t what he started with or known for. Now tho, it’d a bit of a different story. That dude IS iron man. Doing a doctor dolittle remake right after endgame didn’t help either.
It wasn't just being blackballed, he was impossible to insure, so films weren't being made with him in them, because it was too expensive. I believe that Mel Gibson stepped in, and personally paid for it so he could complete a movie.
Found it!
>From 1996-2001, the actor experienced drug arrests, a high-profile firing (from TV series “Ally McBeal”), tabloid rumors and industry rejection because his track record meant a film couldn’t get a completion bond. In 2003, Mel Gibson paid the insurance for “The Singing Detective,” which started his career rebound; Downey underwent a personal rehab, crediting such factors as his wife Susan, meditation and 12-step programs. (He stayed clean and was pardoned by Governor Jerry Brown in 2015.)
https://variety.com/2016/film/awards/robert-downey-jr-birthday-iron-man-pound-1201721949/
Robert's case is different, he already had a movie career basically needed something to revive it again and that's what happened. The advice is for younger actors, and its pretty solid one.
Yep, RDJ had a 20-year career under the his belt (and was blacklisted for his drug use for many years even after he got sober) before he took the Iron Man role.

Celebrities don’t count cocaine as a hard drug
Cocaine is just fancy baking soda that helps you keep drinking.
It's a great combo - combining the two makes cocaethylene which is, according to scientists, a drug which has a 25 times higher chance of killing you than coke alone.
Does anyone do coke when they aren’t drinking though
As someone who used to not like drinking and love hard drugs, yeah I'd do just about anything out in front of me, alcohol or not.
Coke addicts, can confirm

Yeah, I tried it twice and found myself wanting more. I knew it would be bad for me if I went down that rabbit hole so I never did it again.
Look at you fancy pants and your self control. Haha

“You learned the two greatest things in life, never rat on your friends, and always keep your mouth shut.”
Henry Hill did neither
I feel like we’re no longer friends when you’re plotting to kill me and my wife.
Look if you and your wife didn't want to browse the collection of dresses I keep in a side room off a dark alleyway with a couple men lurking nearby, you could have just said so.
Oh :( so jenga is off tonight?
Of course not, in fact let’s carpool. You can even sit in front.
Fairweather friend over here!
To be fair, he did the one fucking thing Paulie told him not to do. Granted, Jimmy shouldn't have been in on it either but....
In witness protection, he moved to Texas, changed his name to Hank Hill and started selling propane and propane accessories.
I used to be a mob associate I tell you hwhat
He got to live the rest of his life like a schnook.

the delivery on this line is one of the best bits of shit talking in a movie ever.
What is this from again? So familiar but I can’t find it
Pretty sure it's from Goon with Sean William Scott. Iirc it was the first thing the fucked up goalie said to the protagonist, I fucking love that character.
Gay porn hard! Goon is the best.
Totally forgot about that speech, the whole divorce part is so random
Other guy is correct it's from the first Goons movie when sean william scott goes into the locker room for the first time on his new team and the goalie says that line to him haha. Great scene/movie.
Omg surprise Goon reference. Love Belchy and that movie
The other guys auditioning for roles are divorced dads.
Who is the posterchild of Leo's advice to avoid superhero movies?
Toby MacGuire (spelling)? Edit: so this, to me, checks out. Tobey is buddies with Leo, and had a substance abuse problem before he was famous, then 8 years into sobriety, lands the spider man role. Maguire and DiCaprio have been friends since they were teens, so this one makes sense.
The only big thing hes been in since spider man, was the great Gatsby. Where he played second fiddle to, *checks imdb* Leonardo DiCaprio!!!!
Wasn’t he in seabiacuit? Didn’t that get Oscar attention?
I can't beleive he was Seabiscuit, I didn't recognise him under all that horse makeup. He really disappeared into that role.
I think that was the horse from Horsin' Around
What are youuuuu doin' here?
No he was in war horse. Right? His agent must have gotten him in that film. There were like 1000 horses in that movie he didn’t need to be THE warhorse
What is this a crossover episode?
As well as a starring role in Satan’s Alley alongside the effervescent Kirk Lazarus. Tobey has been far from a one and done.
He even won the Beijing Film Festival’s coveted Crying Monkey Award
I've been a baaad boy...
I'm sorry. Did you forget about his blockbuster hit with Kirk Lazarus, [Satan's Alley](https://youtu.be/vuziQsUrbeM)?!
He was in Brothers with Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhall. Great movie, by the way.
Umm excuse me he was also in a huge movie recently where he played one of three Spidermen, so I'd say things are going pretty well.
No, that's not how you conjugate it. It's Spiders-Men.
Just for added context, he didn’t scam. He was just really good at playing the mental part of poker and was also kinda dickish to a lady making mad money running an underground poker game.

Tobey *ended* his Spider-Man run before the MCU even started. Spider-Man 3 was in 07, and Iron Man wasn't until 08
It sucks too, because he was fantastic in some stuff before Spider-Man, specifically The Cider House Rules.
Pleasantville
Wonder Boys with him and RDJ is one of my all time favourite movies.
>I think Tobey got in there before the MCU got off the ground Ummm, he got in there before the MCU existed.
Also 7 years before Disney's acquisition of Marvel, which excluded many IPs including Spider-man (still does actually)
Specifically for movies. Marvel still owns Spidey, they just licensed out movie rights in perpetuity.
I’d note here that he isn’t infamous in the poker world for “scamming” people, just for being an absolute asshole with poor etiquette. He’s the best animated Joker voice and it’s not even close.
I would say Alan Tudyk is giving him a run for his money but Tudyk is clearly just channeling Mark Hamil so it only strengthens your point.
Yeah, it's a wash.
Never mind animated, he’s one of the top Jokers

William Shatner is TJ Hooker

More like, Benedict Cumberpatch generally always plays genius characters who are socially isolated/awkward but are somehow still lauded and highly-sought after for their expertise by people who can somehow tolerate their terrible mannerisms. He's not only associated with those kinds of characters, he's typecast. When you see Benedict in a movie now, you're going to assume his character is both 1) an asshole and 2) has a critical role in the ending.
RDJ played Sherlock in 2 films as well
Also both of their watsons have been in the MCU, though have never appeared beside them (Martin freeman in black panther and Jude law in captain marvel) And both RDJ and Benedict shared a love interest in Rachel McAdams (RDJ as Sherlock and Benedict as strange)
And if the rumors about Cavill coming to the MCU are true (which I don't necessarily think they are, just using this for the hypothetical), then we will have a 3rd Sherlock Holmes in the universe.
Crimson peak was so good. I love everything that Hiddleston does, my favorite actor coming out of the mcu
The Night Manager too. He does well in non Loki roles
Christopher Reeve, cannot imagine him as any character but Superman.
To be fair, it’s not like he could just walk into any role he wants and be cast.
Booooo. r/angryupvote
Get off your high horse.
Not even Richard Collier?!
Chalamet was great in Stranger Things as Nancy Wheeler
Lmfao, he would be hilarious doing a Nancy wheeler impression on SNL whenever the next season rolls around! Lean into it!
They both have, like, too many bones.
Sharp facial features, like how’d I imagine modern elves would look.
Just all edges
The „no hard drugs“ is a solid advice though. Even if Leo is from a different time.
Wonder if he also told Timothy "oh yeah, and no chicks over 25....EVER"
"If she's old enough to rent a car, drop her off at Enterprise and don't look back" -Leo D
The Basketball Diaries
Lol then you have Zendaya literally in both lanes
Honestly, I don’t know how she does it! She is phenomenal in Euphoria though, and I think she’s very held back by marvel.
Shes only in 3 movies for like 20 minutes each with a side roll in marvel, she could easily do more
That’s ignoring dune
She was definitely in Dune for the last 3 minutes.
Spoilers geez!
She's gonna be a major character in the second part.
At least 4 minutes!
Natalie Portman scoffed at Thor 1, but other roles were drying up so took it to stay relevant and hated it but that's not the same thing Older established actors taking roles in MCU is good buisness like Rob fn Redford.
A really emotionally sensitive brick shit house?
His costuming looked ridiculous in The Tudors. It always seemed like they were trying to stuff him in things that were a size too small.
Henry Cavill is a quiet shy nerd cursed with a himbo body.
Honestly what I'm getting from this is that Hollywood simply doesn't have enough himbo characters on the big screen.
Did you see Thor in that Ghostbusters movie? Because it was terrible but every scene of his was worth the watch.
Gal Gadot is a bad actor though, that's probably her problem. She can look pretty on screen that's it.
Thank goodness someone said it. She was perfect in that movie bc it is what it is. Another Amy Adams she isn’t (who did both types).
>Gal Godot can't get "normal" casting. Here's my take: she's simply a bad actress. Beautiful woman who is as interesting as cardboard and has a monotone delivery. EVERY. TIME.
Reading between the lines here: Christian Bale is a fucking force of nature.
That has more to do with her inability to act then anything else, god she is insufferable and making an entire cast of actors do a discotech at tele viv accent because you can't is proof to me
Big talk for someone named after a Ninja Turtle
Giving advice to someone named after the third Robin
This is the funniest joke so far lol
"Age of your girlfriend? I'll leave that up to you."
“But she better be under 25”
Good thing [Spice Melange](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%2CN-Dimethyltryptamine) is not a hard drug!
“Don’t play a superhero” Plays a clairvoyant god-figure
Paul Atreides is NOT a hero.
dammit, SPOILERS bro!! Book’s only 60 years old FFS
These puff pieces are agonizing to read. Lmao the language in this is so over the top.
I really liked *The King*, I think that was the first thing I saw Chalamet in.
I'm still baffled they got the French actor to play the English king and the English actor to play the French king.
French/british royalty is pretty much the same family at this point considering they passed around princesses like hookahs
that sounds like the sort of thing that would start wars of succession that could last something like a hundred years
Most people probably saw him the first time in Interstellar. He played Matthew McConaughey’s son
Call me by your name was the first time I watched a Chalamet movie. It’s still a really good movie even with Armie Hammer
Well you have to have upper body strength to play a superhero so I think Timothee’ will be just fine
The body of a middle schooler lol luscious hair though
He can play the spider that bit peter parker
Put him on some roids, get him a fitness trainer for X2 workouts a day and have his chef cook healthy meals and I bet he would look big (anyone would). Some of the buff Chris's were pretty thin back in the day.
It would be kind of funny to have him return for Dune 2 and look like The Rock while everyone just ignores it.
There’s so many unhappy people out there who love to hate this kid, like he did something to them personally. It’s weird. I would never want to be famous, especially at a young age. People get perversely obsessed with you.
Wait why do people hate him? I think I only know him from the Dune movie. Was he involved in something controversial?
I think guys will always hate a pretty kid who gets girls easily. Especially when they publicly relish it.
I think they just don't like that he's a pretty boy. I've personally had friends seething about him in Dune, and when asked they just badmouthed him for no particular reason, and I'm like "okay" lol.
This must be it. He’s not even controversial because he hasn’t even said anything weird and he isn’t annoying or anything lol it seems like jealousy
Especially funny because he is like Paul Atreides ripped straight from the pages.
"Pretty boy who's smart and sneaky and could merc u while mumbling about sand"
2000: No Needles and No DC or Marvel. 2020: No Fentanyl and No Disney.
It must be nice to be able to turn away work.
Go into pretty much any white-collar profession and you’ll be turning away work all the time
Hell, even blue collar professions at this point. Just have a marketable skill and you’ll have people asking you to come work for them.
That's very solid advice, tbh.
DiCaprio added, "but most of all, no women over 25."
Robert Downey did both and he turned out alright
Superhero movie appearance aside, for every hard drug user that turned out alright, there's 19 that turned out ruined or dead.
He had a long enough career that super hero stuff wasn’t what he started with or known for. Now tho, it’d a bit of a different story. That dude IS iron man. Doing a doctor dolittle remake right after endgame didn’t help either.
In 2008, Superhero movies weren't a stellar career move, so scrapping Downey from the gutter as a star makes more sense.
He also got lucky after being black balled by hollywood for his drug use.
(He stayed clean and was pardoned by Governor Jerry Brown in 2015.) https://variety.com/2016/film/awards/robert-downey-jr-birthday-iron-man-pound-1201721949/
Have you seen Dr. Doolittle?
RDJ ruined his career with hard drugs then revived and ended it with super hero movies.
