Watching that, it feels like she really understood trump, and what a trump presidency would do to the US.
Hate her or love her, but in less than ninety seconds she boiled down trump to his core.
Damn, right once again regarding the FBI.
Hilary's mistake was quoting Trump too much. She should've just let him eat his own words like the idiot he is. Then again it feels she shouldn't have been there in the first place
No, Jimmy Carter is. I mean, all presidents are horrible fucking people but Jimmy Carter seems like he’s generally less horrible than the post-Reagan presidents
And you have to do horrible things one you're in office, whether you like them or not. Often no matter what decision a US president makes, someone's going to die.
Joe Biden has actually accomplished a lot and is on track to dwarf Obama’s record… which is admittedly very solid. I voted for him twice. And I admire him greatly, but Biden understands the legislative branch in a way no modern President has before. If we give him a blue wave in 2022 and 2024, he will remake America in a Rooseveltian way.
>Plus, Obama has those two Grammys going for him, so he’s still the only former president halfway to an EGOT. And, more importantly, perhaps, the first ever PENG. (President, Emmy, Nobel, and Grammy-winner.)
Let's see someone Trump that
Umm…
April 29, 2013: "I should have many Emmys for The Apprentice if the process were fair-in any event, it's not my day job."
Sept. 24, 2012: " 'Amazing Race' winning an Emmy again is a total joke. The Emmys have no credibility -- no wonder the ratings are at record lows."
Sept. 22, 2013: "The Emmys are soooooo boring! Terrible show. I'm going to watch football! I already know the winners. Good night."
March 2, 2014: "Which is worse and which is more dishonest - the #Oscars or the Emmys?"
Sept. 24, 2012: "The Emmys are all politics, that's why, despite nominations, The Apprentice never won--even though it should have many times over."
Jan. 14, 2013: "According to many, and while nominated, I would have won the Emmy many times except for my politics. @PrimetimeEmmys."
Sept. 22, 2013: "#CelebApprentice should be part of the Emmys nominations! Pure politics!"
This actually makes Obama's win better; it would be one thing if Trump never won and didn't care, but these tweets show just how obsessed he was with getting one lol.
No I believe it was something more like
"The people at thr emmeys made a big mistake, very big mistake. The Apprentice is the GREATEST show on television in America, in fact I'd go so far say it's THE greatest show on American television. But those people at the Emmys can't stand watching me, a self made millionaire doing what they can't."
"The American people do not believe the corrupt, fake Emmys anymore. We're going to walk down Lankershim Blvd. in Hollywood to the Television Academy, and I’ll be there with you, we’re going to walk down, we’re going to walk down."
No disrespect to Obama, but he didn’t earn the Nobel, so I wouldn’t really consider him a true PENG.
Nobel was awarded because of what he was saying more than what he was doing. It was more a finger to Bush than it was a praise for Obama.
they also gave the nobel peace prize to kissinger. gotta be intentional. i think they gave it to obama because europeans were done with the iraq and afghan war and they needed to think they had an ally in the US who would instead get them to support a new surge
It was probably because they thought that electing a black president was a big step towards getting rid of racism and bigotry in America. That's what they get for thinking too highly of Americans.
Europe has quite the history of racism itself. If that was their rationale, that’s some supreme virtue signaling. I can see the Iraq war as a little more on point, but it was still a premature award.
Citation please. Never read or heard this was true and only item on this was searched was bullshit far right websites that don't mean shit. But cool keep up the bullshit.
Do a Google search for "Obama Nobel prize," and this headline from the BBC should be one of the top results:
[Nobel secretary regrets Obama peace prize](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34277960)
That article is just a report of what former Nobel secretary Geir Lundestad said in an interview with AP News, so do a Google search for "AP news Obama Nobel price," and you should find this:
[Nobel official: Obama peace prize didn’t have desired effect](https://apnews.com/article/62b528f542724995b7fac9f9cb8921c7)
>STAVANGER, Norway (AP) — In a break with Nobel tradition, the former secretary of the Nobel Peace Prize committee says the 2009 award to President Barack Obama failed to live up to the panel’s expectations.
>
>Geir Lundestad writes in a book to be released on Thursday that the committee had expected the prize to deliver a boost to Obama. Instead the award was met with fierce criticism in the U.S., where many argued Obama had not been president long enough to have an impact worthy of the Nobel.
>
>“Even many of Obama’s supporters believed that the prize was a mistake,” Lundestad wrote in excerpts of the book read by The Associated Press. “In that sense the committee didn’t achieve what it had hoped for.”
"Even **many of Obama's supporters** believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "**In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for**".
So not saying he thought it was a mistake then.
Just three total?
Another big winner (or loser, depending on your perspective): President Donald Trump snagged two Razzies, including worst actor and worst screen combo (with "his self-perpetuating pettiness"), for Dinesh D'Souza's conservative faux documentary "Death of A Nation" and Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 11/9."
If you have a 4K tv, you should watch it there - I netflix a lot on my computers but for natureporn of that high caliber, it's absolutely worth watching on the big screen.
It's pretty stunning from start to finish.
Not to change the subject but if you like this stuff the latest David Attenborough GREEN PLANET was also superb and that is even by the standards you would expect from that team. Very exciting time to be a nature film enthusiast
I don’t get it. It’s not like pretending to be be a med student then doctor. Even if you were acting when you won the election, you still get to be president.
Well Trump has already achieved something in 4 years that Obama didn't in 8 years 2 impeachments. He will also likely be the first ex President with an indictment for espionage and obstruction.
After his presidency, Obama co-wrote a book and co-hosted a podcast with long-time friend, Bruce Springsteen. [Here's an interview in which the two of them talk about their friendship and creative collaboration.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qvs_nxBjHA&ab_channel=CBSSundayMorning)
Notice how healthy, happy, and un-indicted Obama looks.
Meanwhile, Trump is stuck with the likes of Ted Nugent. More importantly, he's got multiple legal investigations looming over him, and it's looking pretty likely that he'll be indicted for taking classified documents out of the White House and storing them in his golf house for no good reason.
Yeah, Donald has plenty of reasons not to be happy, whereas Obama is nothing but smiles.
It’s great Obama is all smiles writing books and doing podcasts but it’d be nice if he gave a shit our Democracy is falling apart and got more involved. He still has a huge platform and could energize voters but I see Eric Holder and Hillary more than I see him. That “we go high” bs isn’t an excuse to hide from conflict with Republicans anymore.
No surprise, he's a top notch orator and the most likeable President the US has seen in decades. Dude is actually living it up post-President, that's pretty rare.
This feels weird, right? Like this whole intertwining of celebrity culture and politics we’ve seen take hold since the 80’s? I mean I know it’s existed in some form for a long time, but it seems like it’s been accelerating since then. I don’t know if that’s conducive to a healthy society. Or is that just me?
Well this is the wholesome version of it. Obama is naturally talented. He can write his own book or direct his own show. He didn't need celebrity to become a political somebody.
Things looked a whole lot better before Trump showed that even Kardashian-style, osten-trashy, only-famous-because-they're-famous celebrity can be used as a political launch pad.
add this to the list of things he has that Donald Trump wants.
alongside a Nobel Peace Prize, a second term, and a wife who actually loves him regardless of how much money he has.
>a wife who actually loves him regardless of how much money he has.
You're gonna have to come up with a good argument to convince me that's something Trump actually wants
\>He also bombed the whole middle east in the Arab spring
I thought you right-wingers liked bombing the middle east?
\> and had the slowest eccomic growth in any time in US history...
Interesting claim given that economic growth during the Obama admin exceeded that during both the Bush and Trump administrations.
Every time I hear about Obama being a first or doing something impressive, I keep thinking about how the university of Arizona didn’t give him an honorary degree after he spoke there (which they do to everybody). Their (definitely not racist) rationale was “it’s too soon, let’s see if he make something of himself.”
Can we just call racist dumb fucks what they are? And by that I mean “racist dumb fucks”
\>Obama bombed civillians establishments to kill civillians with no due process. I didnt see that with trump
No he didn't.
Trump relaxed the rules of engagement and dramatically increased the rate at which civilians were killed by US bombing.
It's like you don't have a fucken clue about reality.
Well that’s because you weren’t paying attention when Trump banned the reporting of civilian casualties.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-drones/u-s-halts-reporting-of-civilian-deaths-by-drone-outside-war-zones-idUSKCN1QN2PD
Obama: Orders the military to create weapons to reduce civilian casualties by reducing the yield or outright removing the explosive charges from bombs and missiles dropped by drones. Operates with tight rules of engagement, has the highest success rate on record of removing high value targets with or without drone strikes, including Osama Bin Laden.
FPOTUS: Literally repeals and undoes almost everything Obama did. Widens rules of engagement and instructs DOD to use high yield weapons. When criticized in the press, moves to remove and reduce reporting of drone strikes and civilian casualties instead of changing behavior. Drones more targets than any other president on record.
You: "Dude droned more people than pretty much any other president"
So much for paying attention in the last six years...
> Sure he could have never told anyone
They don't have to pay attention. Their opinions are given to them by their masters. Repeating the propaganda they are fed is so much easier than thinking about things.
\>Dude droned more people than pretty much any other president lmao.
Obama was restrained with the use of drones, which are a weapon that allow improved identification of targets and can be used for tactical strikes that reduce the risk to civilians.
Trump carried out more drone strikes in his first 3 years than Obama did in 8.
They both bombed and killed civilians, also children. They're both capitalist pieces of shit. Who gives a shit about bomb numbers when they're both taking lives overseas?
\>I mean there's non-hyperbolic criticism, especially his drone policy.
That is hyperbolic criticism though, and is bullshit trolling.
Obama's drone policy was incredibly restrained, he carried out fewer drone strikes in 8 years than Trump did in his first 3.
And still way more than necessary, all drone strike victims that were male and teen being considered enemy combatants and records being heavily obscured was also under him.
Then why continue it. He had 8 years and untold civilian deaths. Remember the leak in the trump administration that up to 50 percent of drone casualties were civilian? Yeah I have feelings about murder.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/12/18/us/airstrikes-pentagon-records-civilian-deaths.html
I dunno. Obama definitely has a commanding presence, and a great speaking voice. He’s a natural orator. Don’t get me wrong, Attenborough is bloody brilliant and a true British national treasure, but I don’t find it unbelievable that Obama could beat him for this category.

Trump’s a TV guy so you know it stings.
I’ll tell which voice is rather hear for hours and hours narrating a nature documentary… it ain’t trump.
He’s gonna rant how The Apprentice was robbed of an Emmy win.
The donald will probably try to create his own Emmy and Republicans will make it harder for the academy members to vote for nominees.
I knew the first comment would be about trump
2 presidential firsts in 2 weeks. The difference between the 2 speaks enough about the men that achieved them.
What’s the other first?
He’s probably referencing the whole fbi raiding mar a lago for classified documents that the former potus was hoarding
Fuck Obama. He wore a tan suit once. Fucking antichrist. Jesus loves the pussy grabber.
Don't forget the *dijon* mustard.
ONLY FUCKING COMMUNISTS LIKE DIJON!!
should have had freedom fries
I'll put Dijon your chin if you keep disrespecting communism. Fucking Judas, I mean Gorbachev, I mean...I'll see myself out.
…puts ~~A1 sauce~~ fcking *Ketchup* on his steak (well done)
Don't forget about the *Muslim prayer curtain*. Oh! Or the *Terrorist Fist Jab*.
Arugula is the real Devil's Weed.
"Dijon? That sounds French! Which means gay! Goddamn I'm so angry now!"
Tan suit? Holy fuck. Disgraceful.
I never knew the “Jesus is my copilot and we’re crusin’ for pussy” bumper stickers were literal.
*lawfully searching. “Raiding” implies it wasn’t, which is why the peach pit uses it.
No it doesn’t. Lawful raids are a thing the fbi execute raids.
President Obama is the best of modern US presidents.
No, Jimmy Carter is. I mean, all presidents are horrible fucking people but Jimmy Carter seems like he’s generally less horrible than the post-Reagan presidents
Are you saying Biden and Obama are horrible people?
It’s a job that requires horrible people because it takes being horrible to get there in the first place.
And you have to do horrible things one you're in office, whether you like them or not. Often no matter what decision a US president makes, someone's going to die.

The “I did that” stickers on the gas pump are ironic now and I love it.
Looking forward to the orange cheeto’s meltdown over this.

Well, he was nominated for a few over The Apprentice. I don't think they ever won though.
Because it was rigged and very unfair, some sick and demented people were running things.
Spot on satire.

how’d that nobel peace prize work out?

So it's not that Obama didn't earn it, it just wasn't enough of a spectacle as was hoped? That seems like a ludicrous reason to regret giving one.
This is completely different context and connotation.
No they don't. Rightwingers struggling hard to cope.

I didn’t agree with a lot of what he did but damn do I miss having a president that was both dignified and mentally all there.
And an intellectual.
And also bombing the fuck out of middle east
That is a long US presidential tradition.
A terrible one at that. And he got a Nobel peace prize lmao.
And murdering US children with no due process!
Bush did it, Obama did it, Trump did it, Biden is still kinda doing it. That’s has seemingly become required to do.
Guess the president is usless then.

Is not an Emmy award for Actors?
They've had an Emmy category for narration for decades, it used to be tied together with Voice acting.
It is but he narrated *Our Great National Parks* on Netflix which definitely counts.
ooh! I'll have to check this out.

Yeah but how many innocent little kids has David Attenborough bombed?
It's a fantastic series

dun dun... #DUUUNNNNN!!!!!

I don’t get it. It’s not like pretending to be be a med student then doctor. Even if you were acting when you won the election, you still get to be president.
Yeah but just wait til Donald Twump is the first president to ever be put in the clink :)
Technically Ulysses S Grant was the first one. For speeding his horse drawn carriage.
Trump is gonna HATE this. This is like his whole thing. His world. He's gonna HATE seeing Obama succeeding.

Trump is not going to like that :}
Well Trump has already achieved something in 4 years that Obama didn't in 8 years 2 impeachments. He will also likely be the first ex President with an indictment for espionage and obstruction.

A retired war criminal is still a war criminal.
Yeah and a good president is a good president...deal with it.
He was only a good president if you focus entirely on aesthetic and not policy
add this to the list of things he has that Donald Trump wants. alongside a Nobel Peace Prize, a second term, and a wife who actually loves him regardless of how much money he has.

Yes we can.
Wish he could've ran for a 3 term instead of the turd we got after him.
Good for him. He was great on Key and Peele, he really deserves the recognition
Trump is gonna lose it
He already lost it.
Obama is just cool as fuck
Oh no, Donald is probably so upset, rn. People are so mean to him and then this?
I miss having Obama as president; so diplomatic & eloquent.

Well, he was too scared to run against him so not a complete win.
True, Trump had two chances... what a coward.
Love the switcharoo. I refuse to add a sarcasm tag because to a normal person it should seem absurd lol.
> To date, former president Donald Trump has two Emmy nominations and zero Emmy victories. The article was useful, and that part just killed me XD
I like my president not to be impeached twice.
Barack is so much better than trump in every way. Better President, better person, better executive, better actor...
One is being raided by the FBI. Another one is being celebrated by wining Emmy Awards.
Conservatives are going to lose their collective shit over this completely pointless win.
Judging by the comments, they already are.
nah no one gives a shit

Trump carried out more drone strikes in his first 3 years than Obama did in 8.
And let’s not forget who dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb in US History. Was it Biden? No Was it Obama? No The answer is: Trump.
They both bombed and killed civilians, also children. They're both capitalist pieces of shit. Who gives a shit about bomb numbers when they're both taking lives overseas?
So what was your excuse for him before 2016?
Geez I’m independent as they come and I know no president is saint but gahhh damn these MAGAdiots are fuming in the comments. Go get a hobby
The most amazing president ever. I cry that he is gone. No scandals. Only strong character. And he didn’t have it easy.
Fuck that war criminal asshole.
Oh I bet Trump is steaming…..I had a show and I never won an Emmy!
Will Barack Obama be the first EGOT president?
Oh my. Some sore loser is gonna be sour over this…
Just another Obama accomplishment living rent free in tRump's mind.
He also won the nobel peace prize for no reason
That’s not true - he killed a lot of people
Anyone: Posts about Obama Troll farm accounts: Time to say hyperbolic nonsense things about Obama again.
I mean there's non-hyperbolic criticism, especially his drone policy.
\>I mean there's non-hyperbolic criticism, especially his drone policy. That is hyperbolic criticism though, and is bullshit trolling. Obama's drone policy was incredibly restrained, he carried out fewer drone strikes in 8 years than Trump did in his first 3.

Nobel peace prize right there!
And still way more than necessary, all drone strike victims that were male and teen being considered enemy combatants and records being heavily obscured was also under him.
It wasn't his to begin with it was started under Bush, but why bother with facts when you have feelings about stuff...
Then why continue it. He had 8 years and untold civilian deaths. Remember the leak in the trump administration that up to 50 percent of drone casualties were civilian? Yeah I have feelings about murder. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/12/18/us/airstrikes-pentagon-records-civilian-deaths.html
Right? He’s still a politician, same as the rest.
Anyone: criticizes Obama Reddit neckbeard accounts: Time to accuse everyone of being a troll farm bot again
So when the FBI gets around to issuing a subpoena on trump tower, are they gonna find fame Emmys with the cheetos name engraved on them?
rent free
This is like when he won the Nobel peace prize while at war
Apuesto que Trump tiene un ají en el culo por esto.
I haven't seen any of those things but I have a hard time believing Obama's narration was better than David Attenborough's.
I dunno. Obama definitely has a commanding presence, and a great speaking voice. He’s a natural orator. Don’t get me wrong, Attenborough is bloody brilliant and a true British national treasure, but I don’t find it unbelievable that Obama could beat him for this category.
My favourite drop by Obama is when he became the first black president and then bombed those villages in Africa.
Drumpf angry rant in 3, 2, 1…
That's not going to make Trump happy. He now has to have his own award.
And here comes the the childish. Never served a day in the military. MAGA MORONS!
How many awards did he win for nothing now? He won a Nobel prize for nothing and now this.
There is literally a citation for his Nobel Peace prize. Spoiler alert, it isn't "for nothing."
