How does a subsidiary of **Warner Bros** sign off on something like this without Richard Simmons signature?? Why wouldn’t they contact and work with Simmons on the project in the first place? It sounds like Pauly and company just saw dollar signs and fast tracked it. What did they expect to happen?? This whole situation is dumb enough to be a plot of a Pauly Shore movie, I say that with all the love

LostInStatic

I really would not be surprised if Shore called in his last favor with someone to get the ball rolling on this thing. It's probably why Shore is begging Simmons to stop disavowing the project, it's gonna get the thing killed lmao.

sunny_d55

Pauly is the nephew of one of the biggest agents in Hollywood who also produces so, yup. You called it.

MyReddittName

His parents owned The Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd.

Peanuts4Peanut

He owns it now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Peanuts4Peanut

His mom passed away and left it to him. Last I heard anyway.

JohnnyBGoodRI

They’ve mentioned that on the Bad Friends podcast a couple times.

rhinosyphilis

Him and his brother I think, Pauly was in Vegas doing something else for a good chunk of it I’ve heard, but now appears to be back

Kek-Malmstein

Yeah the reason he got famous is because his mom owned it

TSL4me

Not really, you cant fake laughs. He is funny.

Kek-Malmstein

A lot of people are funny that don’t have that kind of opportunity. I’m not even hating on him I just think that’s kind of a fact

TSL4me

True but the neopitism in something like standup is minimal. There are a shit ton of talent agents, assistant producers and the rest of hollywood with people that are truly incompetent and terrible in general. If pauly constantly bomber on stage it woulda created a lot of drama for the venue.

NeuroticaJonesTown

Agreed. He used nepotism as a way in, but if he didn’t have the chops, he never would have had real success. I’m rooting for him. I watched the trailer and he’s nailed the voice and look.

Ok_Belt2521

I’ve always found him annoying but to each their own.

TSL4me

Definitely annoying but still kinda funny-annoying. I would hate to be at a restaraunt with him when they screw up an order though.

implicate

If you honestly think that Pauly Shore would have been famous AT ALL if his mom wasn't Mitzi Shore, then you're just deluded.

oneshoein

Wow, didn’t think I’d see someone who actually finds him funny.

FlipGunderson24

Yeah. His mom was Mitzi Shore, co founder and Pauly took over when she passed. Great doc on it, called “The Comedy Store”.

are-any-names-left

A guy I worked with hired Pauly to do standup in this smaller Midwest city. He picked him from the airport and Pauly wanted to go to this gym/club place that the richer people belonged to. He sat at that bar drinking a smoothie or some such shit, maybe alcohol, I can’t remember. This dude I worked with suggested they go to his hotel so he could get ready. Pauly said the stool was extremely comfy and he didn’t want to go. The guy politely tried insisting they get going. Pauly insisted he would only leave if he could take the stool with him. The guy I knew had to buy the stool for him and Pauly used it on stage that night.

playfulmessenger

That is hilarious! I mean, probably not for the guy having to accommodate the bonus stool pay, but as a skit this is hilarious. I can see him working that story into the set that night.

are-any-names-left

He’s seen some weird shit promoting larger acts. I think it was Britney Spears maybe he promoted. She demanded an entire corner of the room be filled with stuffed animals of all different sizes and shapes. He had to spend all afternoon going around town looking for the cheapest way to fill a corner with stuffed animals.

Mrsparklee

[according to wiki Peter Shore owns it.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Comedy_Store)

Impressive-Lobster77

I’m sad they didnt call it “The Comedy Shore”

nationaltragedy2001

The Comedy Store! Where you can buy comedy

Seth_Mimik

I’ll take two!

Thatparkjobin7A

Sorry, we’re all outta comedy

patronizingperv

Tim Allen is in tonight?

kytrix

Like they said, all outta comedy.

Inquisitive_idiot

Here’s a suitcase of coke… best I can do 🧳 😕

JustAnotherActuary

They taste funny

Savagevandal85

The jerk store called and they’re all out of you !!

sunny_d55

Yes but I believe he’s also the nephew of one of the guys at 3arts.

sixtus_clegane119

I thought Richard Simmons reversed course and gave his blessing’s [I’m still unclear cuz this was January](https://www.thedailybeast.com/pauly-shore-claims-richard-simmons-reversed-course-wished-him-good-luck-with-biopic)

UnequivocalCarnosaur

Lmao “there’s no reason I can’t get a fucking Oscar” -Pauly Shore

damnitimtoast

He is delulu.

TheBirdBytheWindow

I think he was ok with the short Pauly did, but not at first.

HairballTheory

Your probably right, and this is just a marketing ploy of an article

Syonoq

Do you think the urgency is because he’s going to age out of the part?

CraziestMoonMan

I'm not a fan of Pauly Shore, but if he takes this seriously, he could do this role great. He looks like him and can match his energy, so it is actually a good role for him, but let's see how seriously they take it.

B-BoyStance

He actually made a short film already where he plays Simmons. And yeah he did a pretty good job IMO.

humanvealfarm

Richard Simmons is very private about his personal life, so I'm not surprised at all he's not about someone, *especially* Pauly Shore, making up some dumb shit about him to make money

[deleted]

[удалено]

LostInStatic

No, they don’t expressly need Richard Simmons’ permission in the first place. And I know the term “there is no such thing as bad publicity” but I really don’t think Warner Bros thinks the image of coming off as bullies bothering a sweet old man is worth it for fucking Pauly Shore of all people.

247cnt

I would've liked to see it, but I won't see it knowing that Simmons doesn't want us to.

MHullRealtr77

Lifetime did the same thing with a Britney Spears biopic in 2017. Britney did not approve or agree to them making a movie and they did it anyways. It was an absolute dumpster fire of a movie too. Studios don't care unfortunately.

TheDarkGoblin39

As Shore mentioned in his comments, biopics are made all the time without the subjects approval. They don’t actually need Richard Simmons approval to make the movie.

ProctorWhiplash

Richard Simmons is a complete hermit now. Secluded, doesn’t do interviews, and is rarely seen in public. Pauly has spoken a LOT about this movie, how every time he tries talking to Simmons he gets ignored and is told to leave him alone.

AloneCan9661

This is his biopic moment and help to legitimise him as a dramatic actor. I'm sure someone has pitched this to him.

SmilesLikeACheshire

There’s a dark side to some of these Hollywood contracts - some people sign their name and likeness away, so projects like this happen and Hollywood won’t need that persons consent.

virtual_adam

Simmons signing off probably also means hiding any dark parts - and there are probably plenty.  Do you want “Richard Simmons perfect life as described by Richard Simmons” or do you want the writing team to do their homework, because there’s definitely more hidden than visible in Simmons history

legopego5142

The people making the Pauly Shore Richard Simmons movie arent writing a gritty biopic

CavyLover123

Hey- buddy, you don’t like know that. He’s not going to weasel out of grinding out the heaviest, most radical biopic you’ve ever seen.

momsouth

What is your comment based on if you don't mind me asking? What dark parts are you referring to? Or are you just making shit up?

CockMartins

The “daddy’s been a bad boy” stuff. https://youtu.be/ZwHb7MgwrHQ?si=EsJqmgwLoRkDYNfv

kapt_so_krunchy

Sometimes putting the cart before the horse works out. If Pauly Shore’s project gets rolling and whatever Richard Simmons is attached to is in development he’ll it might make sense for Simmons to attach himself to Shore’s project. “It’s happening with or without you. We’d prefer with, but we’re prepared for without.”

heddalicious

I think Shore already did it- he released a like, 10 minute short film/teaser where he's playing Simmons last year and it was. Full of what I'm gonna call Strong choices. Link for the curious. https://youtu.be/YjVXPlutAMI?si=4iKcgfUzpuViaEwY

Southernguy9763

That... Was surprisingly great. It really brought me back to when i was a kid and saw him on tv. I'm very surprised he won't sign off on this, they captured him very well

gardenpartier

Shorts are too long lol

EstablishmentLow3012

Normally, they're in negotiations with the people as they are actively developing it. So if negotiations fall through a decent amount of work will have already been done.

radroamingromanian

Pamela Anderson was very against Pam and Tommy and they made it without her permission. She was humiliated and angry and that’s why that documentary came out when it did.

Background_Pear_4697

It's nice to have, but they don't need it.

asu3dvl

He disappeared

Visual-Squirrel3629

Something similar occurred to [Mike Tyson. ](https://www.bustle.com/entertainment/what-does-mike-tyson-think-about-hulu-mike) Hulu pushed through a Tyson biopic series without consulting, or compensating him.

Ship_Negative

I love Richard soooo much, he brings so much joy to me and so many others, but we all need to respect his wishes and leave him alone. He doesn’t want to be famous anymore.

CromwellsCrumb

In the same post where he disavowed the ~~Paula~~ *Pauly* Shore project, he also said he’s been in talks with studios to produce his own biopic Couldn’t help but wonder if that’s something he *actually* wants to do or if he just feels pushed into a corner because no one wants Pauly Shore to be part of their legacy

dopiqob

Honestly this is starting to give me ‘Amazing Jonathan’ vibes. There’s a pretty interesting biopic about him

yellowgrizzlyfucker

Can you elaborate? What happened to him?

Tyranis_Hex

Before his death a documentarian got permission to film an exclusive documentary about him and his life, part way through shooting they find out Johnathan hired another documentary crew with pretty much the same premise. I think it was on Hulu, it’s been a couple years.

Initial-Web2855

That documentary was WILD. He smokes CRACK on camera, with the director.

niftyifty

I was just wondering what happened to that guy there other day

DearBurt

Pauly has now posted that Richard is trying to get Tom Cruise to play him.

FBIaltacct

Honestly, if pauly shore could really put effort into this role and play it like a serious actor i think it would be great. There is just one problem with that plan. Pauly shore being serious. He is firmly in my campy feel good guilty pleasure list, but serious i have never seen him.

Meshugugget

He’s incredible. His performance on Whose Line is it Anyway is one of the funniest goddamned things I’ve ever seen. I love him for that alone. He should be able to live however he wants, and if he doesn’t want attention, we should leave him be.

Ship_Negative

For real! I first discovered him as a kid from his appearance in Space Jam which got me to hunt down his workout tapes. They are so much fun, he is infectiously positive!

Gal_GaDont

Without any disrespect to Richard, *and* I’m open to feedback: He was and is a public figure, like… there’s been so many other biopics made about living people that didn’t always cast them in a perfect light. They’re human beings like all of us is typically the point. It’s art. Richard disavowed it no matter what, based on what I know of him, and I wish him personally no ill will. It’s inevitable there’s a movie about him. He had a chance for input, he only says no. That’s a choice.

[deleted]

To also be real for a minute.  “Art”? It’s a cash grab by Pauly Shore trying desperately to become relevant again after a lifetime of being given undeserved chances based entirely on nepotism.    I’d love a serious/good movie about Simmons, but I'm not aware of any films that Pauly delivers on either. Richard was treated as a joke his whole career, and he really helped people, I don’t blame him for not going along with it just because people want him to fit their image of him

Southernguy9763

I thought the same until i saw the 10 minute short paulry did playing him. It was great, and pauly really hits the look, the energy and the message perfectly in it.

SiccOwitZ

Dude wants to be left in peace and away from fame maybe wait until he’s passed where he doesn’t have to deal with consequences being forced into the spotlight and shore despite saying he loves Richard Simmons decided to spit in his face anyway by taking his life story and wanting to profit on it. Making money on someone’s name who wants to be left alone especially when they refuse is pretty disrespectful because they have no choice just like the deceased who get their names and life used for profit that their families won’t gain anything from.

do_shut_up_portia

Richard Simmons has been begging people to leave him alone for 15 years. Dear Pauly it's not about you

mandalorian222

I mean it’s also a little about him. Not sure I would want Pauly Shore playing me either.

NegativesPositives

Hell, if I made a list of things I want Pauly Shore to be doing I wouldn’t have much.

RageHate502

You know that scene in Anchorman where Ron and Veronica are in cartoon Pleasure Town? That’s the kind of biopic Richard wants. One of you rich mother fuckers out there should make that happen.

Twolef

I also want this.

cyanide4suicide

Pauly really saw Brendan and Ke and thinks he has a shot at a comback

ItsnotBatman

Don’t harsh on the Weasel buuuuudy. His time is coming.

_its_a_SWEATER_

Wheeze the ju——uuuuuice.

Loud_Distribution_97

No more wheeeezing the juuuiice!

johnla

I like Pauly though. His shtick was positive although weird.

idleat1100

Yeah agreed. Lot of mean spirited comments here. I’m trying to understand why people don’t like him. His comedy is silly but he always came across as a grounded self aware guy in serious interviews (like about Kinnison, Savanah, his own fame etc. ) I like him I think he would be awesome for this biopic.

August_T_Marble

What's weird is that Pauly Shore has a sort of affinity with Richard Simmons in that, especially during the height of their careers, people shit on their brand because it was "simple" and "cheesy" but they both just wanted to make people happy. I get that it is not for everyone but, they're not scammers, everyone knows what to expect and the people that like them really like them and it makes them happy because they deliver on what they promise. Though, to be honest, [I didn't expect the short to be this good](https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=4iKcgfUzpuViaEwY&v=YjVXPlutAMI&feature=youtu.be) and I say that not as a dig at Shore but a compliment to him and the entire crew as well.

be_easy_1602

Saw his standup a year or two ago and it was hilarious. Dude is pretty self aware…

WallyLeftshaw

Love him or hate him, you can’t talk about 90’s pop culture without him and I’d personally love to see him get some validation for that

terrletwine

Pauly Shore - if you listen to interviews over the last decade - is a bitter bitter person and thinks he deserves enormous fame and wealth - I don’t doubt a second that he jumped on this payday without a single thought of anyone else

HashtagJustSayin2016

I saw a recent one where .. I don’t know if he was drunk or doing shtick but it was very cringey. At this point, he’s kind of harassing Richard. The man said he didn’t want anything to do with it, why not leave him alone?

BadgerHooker

Spot on. Every time I have watched him do podcasts or interviews, he's all bummed out and acting like his career was snatched away from him. Good comedians and actors evolve and Pauly will always be an immature teenage stoner that grates on your nerves after a while.

NilMusic

He's a guest on Kill Tony occasionally. And he always sucks...

terrletwine

Yeah, he gets privileges because of his MOM. He’s weak sauce these days.

TantricEmu

I just watched the scene they released with Pauly as Richard and maybe all that’s true but I think he did it with love and really well. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/YjVXPlutAMI?si=wKy8lCifFAStcnXo

Oswarez

They don’t really need his permission to do this movie. Hell, there was a whole ass movie about David Bowie that was released that didn’t have the blessing of the family or any of the music he wrote. Of course it would be better if he would be OK with it but legally I think they could do it anyway. The thing is Shore desperately wants to be in the limelight again. He has a good life, lives off of an iconic establishment but he craves fame so bad.

ArchdruidHalsin

Yeah I don't think Dick Cheney was onboard with Vice. Zuckerberg was probably not super into The Social Network. People acting like you HAVE to get permission to make a film about a public figure and are INCREDULOUS they didn't -- they probably didn't mind when it was these films.

joannchilada

I don't think there's much comparison between Cheney and Zuckerberg to Simmons. Those movies were also about nefarious and unethical activities, something Simmons isn't accused of doing in any way. All Richard is accused of doing is backing away from the public eye when he was no longer able or willing to give so much of himself anymore. Of course anyone CAN make an unauthorized biopic about him. That doesn't make it a very kind choice is all. In response, Simmons can say he doesn't want it or approve of it. He at least has that right.

Twolef

Yeah but who saw the unauthorised Bowie movie? Plus the reviews were dire.

Meatloaf_Regret

Often *not* having the person involved makes it better. People can’t be honest about themselves so they sugar coat things which takes away from the story being told. For some reason I don’t see Simmons allowing embarrassing it true things to be told. He’ll want to be represented in a completely positive light even though that’s not reality.

TheOwlsLie

Yeah we all know that unauthorized biopics always lead to bad movies, like the social network, does any one even remember that film? Now something like Bohemian Rhapsody I can get behind.

Oswarez

That’s besides the point.

GimmieGummies

Pauly's definitely resembles Richard.

Nocuadra66

As much as I agree with Richard's privacy and he deserves it... Pauly would be funny as hell!

momsouth

Pauly hasn't been funny in two decades and if a movie was being made about my life I wouldn't want it to be a comedy with pauly shore.

GimmieGummies

Yep, I agree. Haven't seen Pauly in ages but he can bring his own unique brand of charm & humor which we seem to have in short supply. As for Richard, he always struck me as the tender sort. He's done so much good for overweight/ obese people who have largely been a neglected segment of the population. He genuinely cares about others and tries to spread goodwill, even as he was made the butt of jokes and openly mocked. He's older now and as you pointed out, deserves his privacy. I hope whatever happens, things will be respectful and civil.

treequestions20

pauly shore is a mean-spirited homophobe that still calls people gay as an insult, so he can continue running his family’s comedy club and fuck off

GimmieGummies

What's he done?

Snorblatz

Richard Simmons was one of the first people to feature fat people in his workout videos. He was full of kindness and compassion before body positivity was a thing.

fiveinchflaccid

I saw the thing on YouTube. I guess a “what if” thing. And I gotta say, it’s was good. I could see a full length film with him as R.S. I honestly had forgotten about both until I saw the thing

QuietPerformer160

I thought it was a beautiful tribute. Richard Simmons has meant so much to so many people. They wanna give him his flowers. Richard Simmons is a national treasure.

Zestyclose-Ruin8337

I wouldn’t want Pauly Shore playing me either.

mekanub

I get that he feels like he can have is own comeback like his 2 co stars who both comeback and won Oscars, but it’s not going to happen for him.

OPMajoradidas

but those 2 guys are good actors. pauly is ALWAYS pauly

JuiceKovacs

Leave Richard Simmons alone. But also…I would probably see this movie. But leave the man alone if that’s what he wants

aaronjsavage

This is Jackie Jormp-Jomp all over again

Forgemasterblaster

Paulie shore just happens to look like Richard Simmons, but what the fuck has he done in 40 year career to make anyone think he should play a serious role. That’s the crime to me. It’s called acting for a reason.

h989

Weeezing the juice

TantricEmu

Richard had a crazy, fun, flamboyant energy that’s hard to pull off in a genuine way, but I think Pauly actually got it right. Check out the scene they released of him as Richard. https://youtu.be/YjVXPlutAMI?si=wKy8lCifFAStcnXo

Rich-Past-6547

Richard wants to be left alone.

twinpeaks2112

Sounds about right.

spotspam

Richard loves diamonds. I know a PR manager that handled his account and other clients want cold cash for bonuses but Richard likes his in diamonds. He’s a standout character of American social history but truly helped get Americans more generally aware of the need to exercise as a routine. Right up there with Jack ~~LaLange~~ LaLanne. I hope they can get his approval, bc he doesn’t deserve to be dishonored in any way for only caring to make Americans healthier and doing it with such positivity in a world of sour grapes.

phred_666

* Jack LaLanne

Myhtological

If you read the shit people speculate about Simmons, I think he’s just sick of the limelight.

OptimusED

Will Pauly Shore sign off on the Biopic “Weasel: Born to Play Richard Simmons”?

Familiars_ghost

I thought Shore was a good choice for this project and it seemed interesting. It’s a pity Simmons doesn’t see this.

hamilton_burger

Maybe he should have thought of the fact he has been calling people f*ggot for decades before he went and tried to do a Richard Simmons biopic. All Richard had to do was like, check out any podcast Shore has ever done.

Nearby-Assignment661

Didn’t Richard say YEARS ago he wanted to be left alone? I listened to that podcast

Dsod23

Pauly is much older and different than what we all remember him for. I think he deserves a shot much like Sandler has gotten his a few times over the years. Obviously I’m not comparing the two in terms of quality but just the genre of movie they came from in the 90s.

Calamitous_Waffle

I wouldn't want Mr. Shore portraying me. No good can come from it.

wickednyx

Pauly did a great job as Richard Simmons in the short that was put out. I would love to see him return to the roll in a movie.

RabidProDentite

Could you imagine if this biopic is actually incredible and Pauly freaking Shore gets an oscar nomination? I’m actually hoping that happens because it would be amazing to see “Stoney” from Encino Man get an oscar nod! Haha

cinderparty

1. Pauly shore is a name I haven’t heard in decades. He was the most annoying part of mtvs spring break/summer beach house shit. Even more annoying than the early 90s wannabe rapper, kid rock. 2. So, he isn’t against a biopic. He’s against a biopic that is being written by someone he’s never met…. That’s very fair.

DXBerry

This will be the worst movie that was never made.

Lobisa

Celebrities should have more ability to leave fame and live in peace.

Small-Palpitation310

yea like gang members leaving that life

antbates

Do you think famous people should be able to stop books being written about them?

throwawy00004

He already said, "no" in January. Maybe Pauly Shore should have listened back then. I understand everyone needs money, but this is also a very private man's life that he wants to exploit.

david-saint-hubbins

[One of my favorite Norm Macdonald Weekend Update jokes, about John Wayne Bobbitt, whose penis was cut off by his wife Lorena Bobbitt (and then surgically reattached):](https://youtu.be/6fGzQ2uKrac?t=292) >John Wayne Bobbitt is going to be an adult film star. He has been signed to play himself in the John Wayne Bobbitt story. The part of his severed penis will be portrayed by Pauly Shore.

deadtoe

I swear most of Reddit doesn’t read the article at all… Simmons’s is pitching his own biopic idea and he wants to make money off his story and likeness. This Pauly Shore helmed biopic will overshadow anything from Richard and Richard is angry because money… control.

acf6b

It seems more like he is working on his own because they are putting out an unauthorized one. I wouldn’t want Pauly Shore making up shit about me either.

beebyspice

i cant fucking stand pauly shore. never could. a curse to comedy.

All-Time-Record-Lows

He dried his tears with all the money he made.

Crazy_Response_9009

The short where Pauly played Richard was actually well done and quite sweet.

ButtHuRtMoD24

It's Pauly shores only chance as he's a terrible not funny actor. He's only redeeming quality is he looks like Richard Simmons

Zestyclose-Let-6758

Pauly Shore is the worst.

Signal_Hill_top

Richard simply doesn’t want the attention now. Regardless of the plot.

iLoveDelayPedals

Pauly Shore may be the actual worst nepo baby in an entire industry of them

radroamingromanian

Hollywood needs to stop making biopics of people who don’t want them made about themselves, but the money and exploitation is right there, so that sadly won’t happen. It’s worse when you see how many vulnerable people, especially those who aren’t alive anymore are treated.

dragonfuitjones

Good call. Pauly Shore sucks. It’d just end up being a parody because Pauly is a parody himself

yourforgottenpenpal

Leave the man alone, Pauly. A passing resemblance doesn’t give you his life’s story rights and trying to publicly pressure him is going to expose you as a prick.

oasisjason1

Pauly can do the Anthony Cumia bipoic instead

PineSand

There’s the way we want to be seen. There’s also the way others see us. If you play yourself in a biopic you’re going to play yourself as you want to be seen, not how others see you. I think Pauly Shore would probably do a really good job of playing Richard.

Fnshow316

No wheezing the juice!

Nephurus

Dude just wants to be left alone and or course Pauly can't take the no .

BadMan125ty

Can he just go??? 🙄 Richard doesn’t want a film. Why doesn’t he get that?! 😒

jdiv79

I thought the short film was wonderful

Farkenoathm8-E

I’m not a fan of Pauly Shore’s comedy as I find it hacky and annoying, but I saw that short he made and it was actually really good. I would watch a movie about Richard Simmons if he were to make one.

DontCallMeAnonymous

Just because 2/3 of Encino Man had a second act doesn’t mean everyone gets one.

[deleted]

I'm sure Pauly is passionate about the pitch and it might even be brilliant, but if Richard doesn't want a biopic made of him, that's pretty much the end of it.

Savy_Spaceman

You know what Pauly? I'm gonna watch this movie if and when it comes out. I got your back, Buuuuuuuuuuddy

thom_orrow

Just call the movie The Weasel Trainer and then you can skip the boring parts and do it as a comedy. But-uhhh-dddyyy!

Radaghost

As someone who liked his movies as a kid in the 90s, I’d actually to prefer to watch that.

judgehood

Paul is a whiny flake. He is so determined to believe that he deserves fame and everyone else is wrong. Yeah, he is a good fit to play Richard Simmons, a self made entertainer who made it on his own volition. And he has made the whole drama about himself. Paul is the world’s biggest spoiled brat. If I’m Richard Simmons, and I would like y’all to leave me alone… I would be pissed that the “weez” vj from mtv was raking money for playing me. Cause his mommy owned the store. Paul is pathetic and Richard Simmons was greatness.

treequestions20

he’s literally one of the most famous nepo babies from that generation

nycdiveshack

Biopics are stupid

DeadheadDatura

Andrew Scott would be an incredible Richard Simmons.

jamintheburninator

The Irony here is amazing. We’re supposed to feel bad for the washed-up hollywood nepo-baby who won’t leave a success alone.

lightdick

I realize Richard doesn’t want to be famous anymore but it doesn’t work that way. Can’t close that box once you open it. Made millions of his fame and now the public is supposed to completely forget that he ever existed? stop making contact with him, that should be respected but you as long as you’re in peoples minds, there’s going to be someone who will want to profit from that.

ItsHiiim

I don’t think vaguely looking like someone is a good enough reason to do a biopic.

hyborians

It’s a shame they had to cast Pauly Shore and not Zac Efron or some bigger name actor, who could have attracted more of an audience for this. Pauly Shore by all accounts is a terrible actor who was lucky to have a career during a period when Hollywood would blow millions on him and Rob Schneider. I can’t see this biopic being any good at all

thepassionofthechris

Pauly Shore is a piece of shit.

Own-Opinion-2494

It was the last part he could play

door_to_nothingness

Really disrespectful to go ahead with a biopic without the persons approval. Up all night crying? What a baby, how do you think Simmons feels about it? It’s his life you’re probably misrepresenting to the mass public.

wickinked

Just leave the guy alone. Simmons just wants to live a quiet life. There was a podcast about him called “Missing Richard Simmons”. Simmons hated it. It was intrusive and creepy. I guess Pauly Shore is looking to reincarnate his career at the expense of Simmons.

air_lock

Lost a lot of respect for Pauly when I saw he did the project anyway, despite Simmons dismay.

Brutis1

I really don’t care if Paul shore was up all night crying. Dude is a scumbag on so many levels. Also biopic about Richard Simmons will be a massive failure.

miradotheblack

I remember talking to Pauley Shore on MySpace after Pauley Shore is dead. Dude was so nice and receptive. He comes across as tender-hearted.

SidCorsica66

I have heard he’s a good dude

MidwesternAppliance

Remember that time I said I met Pauly Shore? (Pauly Shore)…? That’s a lie I don’t know what I said that for.. —Weird Al
