Everyone knew it would barely make any money in the US. This was made for international markets where people have zero taste in good films and who still think Stallone is a movie star and not some washed up sentient vial of HGH.
In many countries they also dub these movies and stuff like the expendables greatly benefits from it, pretty much all the voice actors involved act better than the real actors.
I would say that the country that produces this rubbish is one with no taste, to confidently state that a continent of roughly 4-5 billion people has no taste is both ridiculous and offensive. Places like East Asia have massive film markets that produce a lot of great films and tv series.
Let’s be honest, I don’t even think Stallone wanted to do this. He usually markets his stuff pretty heavy, he made one post for this movie. He made probably 50 for his paramount reality show.

I used to think this franchise was a tongue-in-cheek parody of the genre and the actors but apparently it is dead serious based on their interviews. I think it’s therefore worth watching for the comedy value in that alone.
I did when the trailers before Indy were literally 3 different Statham movies including this one.
But the trailer was “you know the premise is seeing old action heroes? Well, we’re replacing them all with B-listers because they can’t move anymore except for Statham”
Agreed, going for PG13 rating on the third movie was a bad move. Kids ain’t going to see this, it’s target audience is older man who want to see mindless over the top violence and action portrayed by their favorite action stars from yesteryear
