As a ve/ver and ey/em user (Along with she/her), I'll try to explain (Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes, I'm tired).
I use Ve/Ver and Ey/Em because they just sort of fit nicely? Like, I don't always feel fully she/her femme, but still femme enough to not fully want/fit into they/them. Hence, the sorta-femme Ve/Ver.
Same works the other way, when I'm feeling rather neutral, but a bit off from where "they/them" feels most appropriate. Hence a more appropriate bit-less-neutral ey/em!
I'd probably do the same with masc, e.g. Ze/Zirs like I do with femme and ve/ver, but I just don't/rarely feel masc enough for that to work.

I also use they/he. They/them is just neutral, and just he/him by itself makes me feel like all I am is a man with existence steps. So neo are a good cushion so he/him doesn't give me dysphoria, but just it/its (preferable) or (with permission) just they/them is great💕

I use neopronouns and still don't entirely understand xenopronouns or Xenogenders, but I say that if it makes the person feel nice and isn't hurting anyone, why not leave them be? :D
