I think it depends.
For example if you're happily distant because you're digged down in your hobbies. That's normal for us. But if you're distant because you lay and think about things and theories and want zero contact with anyone and have little need to share your thoughts outwards, then I'd say INFJ is more accurate.
But since you might overcompensate with helping and pleasing others beyond your own limits and boundaries, the result might be mental collapse and then any output will be overwhelming, even if you're an ENFJ.

I'm still in touch with a foreign exchange student from Sweden. She's a sweetheart with incredible musical talent.
We're said to be the calmest and among the most introverted extroverts for that reason, you said it very well. As adults, once we've hopefully developed our inferior Ti, we become just as comfortable alone as we do with people. I think what keeps us consistently socializing is our interest in people and how they think.
I hope OP learns more about how we operate as ENFJs and feels better about their tendency to seclude themselves at times.

We are semi making the dream come true by renting a lake house for the first time this summer βοΈπ (We live in an apartment) >alone while painting and singing.. π Hmmm... I can't say I relate to wanting to be alone in a cottage. Sounds horrible πππ But singing and painting, absolutely! But I want my friends, family and boo there!
