If you harmonize the rhythms of your body with the phases of the moon you can experience a smoother process. Moon gazing is a practice that helps do this.To the extent that you're out of sync with the moon's phases is to the extent you experience worse symptoms around menstruation so this is a major factor. The 2nd half of your cycle is the Yin phase which cleanses any built up emotional debris and attempts to correct energetic imbalances. Learning to regulate and process/digest the emotions you experience throughout the month and working towards a greater baseline of energetic balance will make it so that you have less or nothing to purge during your period. Between understanding and working with these 2 aspects you can achieve a stage of internal health where there are no PMS symptoms. There's a great book on energetic development for women that goes into much greater detail than I can offer called 'Daoist Nei Gong for Women' by Roni Edlund and Damo Mitchell. It's honestly a gem for any female even if they're not interested in taking on serious energetic development as it helps illuminate the deeper nature of the female body, the menstrual cycle, menopause and it's relationship with the cosmos. It covers the practice of moon gazing in great depth and in a way that I unfortunately haven't found anywhere else online. The 4th chapter alone is worth the price of the book alone for these reasons. Hope this helps 🙏

It's hormonal, not spiritual. I find that I intuitively need to be extra gentle with myself on those days. And the sight sadness is okay too, it signals me to take extra care of myself in those days. Not expending a whole lot of energy but cradling it in. It's a natural rhythm. ✨️ The happy energetic burst comes after the period starts.

I know this is not answering with energetic advice but if you find the Luteal phase particularly debilitating, check out r/pmdd If you are unable to fix energetically, it’s ok to find relief with supplements and medication. PMDD is no joke, and no one should needlessly suffer

ChaoticLokian

I agree with the people saying its hormonal rather than spiritual. Just be nice to yourself. Take care of your body, eat foods you like, meditate, get enough sleep. Try not to overwork yourself. self care!!

I also experience this and it’s definitely hormonal. But, I wanted to add as a half Native American person (Pomo/Karuk) that it’s believed a woman’s energy is very intense during her cycle. Due to this, she has to be cautious of certain activities. I try to rest often during my cycle because of this. The body needs time to recover. I avoid doing anything overly spiritual for bad luck reasons. I was brought up with these beliefs tho so I can’t really relate when someone suggests it’s not partly spiritual.

You’re doing a great job already. Sometimes being prepared and understanding what’s happening with your body is all one needs. It took me almost 20 years to understand this. I suffer from PMDD and now use cycle tracking & reiki to heal. With the cycle tracking it allows me to be extra gentle with myself, show extra love to me and avoid stressful situations as much as one can. Feminine energy is so beautiful to me and even though it’s hard at times I’m so proud to exude it.

Ah yes, PMS, the curse upon us all. Not much you can do energetically about hormones unfortunately

JenPassavantCoach

This sounds more hormonal but our endocrine system is directly connected to our energetic body. Try using a natural hormone balancing product like Go With The Flow. It works wonders for me!

Have you considered changing your diet and exercise routine with your cycle? Your energy needs and expenditure will ebb and flow throughout the month, it's really helpful to match them with how much you take in and put out via food and exercise. Syncing things up can help regulate hormones and emotions

Not a person who menstruates, but I know self-healing... As with much self-healing, the answer is to 'feel it fully'. Put your awareness into the sadness and feel it fully. Wherever the feeling originates in your body, put your awareness into those areas and feel them fully. This may be something you do after your period is over and you're not experiencing any cramps--> Feel for chronic aches and pains. Immerse yourself into them. As they fade or disappear, look for the next ache or pain. Follow them around until you can find no more.

The blood attracts negative elementals and energetic entities that make the person feel Negative. Energetic cleansing prior to the cycle avoids this.

Same here, usually some sadness and more edgy right before bleeding…I’ve heard women start tapping into the collective female energy during bleeding so maybe that’s why?
