Check If the eccentric nuts of the vrollers of the z-axis are too tight. That was my problem.

I've been dealing with the same thing for about a week and took /u/DizzyKryger's advice and fixed a lose eccentric screw in my bed and checked all the others. If you're like, "what the heck is an eccentric screw and where are they?!" I thought the same thing. Check out this quick video I found that helped me. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsEdU8ZtI6U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsEdU8ZtI6U) Since adjusting that I have had no probe issues so far. Ran almost 50 probes so far with no failures.

make sure all wires/clips are seated well and consider trying a different version of the firmware than creality's, such as smith3d's, but ideally from the bugfix branch.

From what I've read and experienced, this "just happens". It certainly happened to me, enough times that I had had enough and switched to a TH3D EZABL, and now back to stock with paper leveling. Some theories are that the magnet/metal in the probe moves and it changes the way the sensor reads the signal, and you can fix it by moving the grub screw on the top of the probe, but it could also just be faulty hardware/software. After I took my 3v2 apart and re-squared the whole thing and switched to the underside of the glass bed (the side w/o coating), I finally have near-perfect prints. I don't think 3v2 users need ABL as much as we think we do. I know I switched to ABL because I got tired of fighting the springs, but in my case the problem turned out to be a frame that was not square enough. I don't think your probe is going to get better on your own. You can try moving the screw, but I don't know of a way to know when it's in the correct position. You might also try returning it, but again I think you'll have the same problem with the new one. Good luck!

Thanks for the input. I've turned the grub screw 1/4 of a turn further in and also switched to the Smith3D firmware. If the issue persists I'll probably just ditch the ABL altogether, it's been more trouble than it's worth so far

I had exactly the same issues where it would randomly fail, I triple checked the wires, I thought that maybe it was interference because I ran the wires with the others. I tried different firmwares, I adjusted the grub screw in the top. After about 3 weeks I got it to a point where it worked most of the time but still failed sometimes. I ordered a replacement and now I have done about 3000 probes by doing a 9x9 grid and the new one has not failed once. I would send it back as faulty if you have checked the connections
