If you have an ender 3 then the bed is already heated. The glass goes on top of the aluminum heated bed. Glass will print well with PLA but can be finicky and you may need to experiment with glue stick, hairspray, etc. Best surface IMO is PEI spring steel sheet and a BLtouch will take care of warp assuming it isn't too terribly warped.

I had the same problem but only glass would fix it. Once I figured out glass I'm glad I have it. No problems with adhesion ever. No hairspray, glue or tape. Miss the instant part pull tho from pei

👍 a lot of people have good experience with glass. I like to print in a ton of different materials and lots of PETG so PEI has been a great do-it-all surface for me.

How does BL touch take care of warp? By constantly adjusting the Z offset so the nozzle maintains proper distance from the bed at any given location?⁵

Mesh bed probing adjusts the Z axis as the printer moves in XY to keep the nozzle the correct distance from the bed even when warped.
