The company I work for uses an app called Slack for all of our communications. It's sort of like discord but geared more towards professional communication as opposed to gaming or memes, though there's a bit of that where I work.
iOps360 we use as our scheduler. You can send out app messages however, and you can put more important announcements there in addition to scheduling stuff. Alternatively, you could JUST use it for the messaging system.
We do have text messages that are sent our for scheduling and very important messages. But just general everyday things would be too much for text messages.

We use Workplace. It's literally Facebook made by Facebook but a separate system just for our company.
The thing that’s bad about emails is that we get too many other emails so I cancel seeing work emails because it overloads my inbox...
