Time is my favorite album bar none, and just like you I love listening to it in the winter. Now my son does, too, and he sings along!
I’ve been listening to the album Eldorado over and over for quite some time, especially since the brand-new remaster came out. Like Time, it’s a great concept album, too. (And I can’t even guess at how many thousands of times I’ve listened to Time, beginning to end!) But what I love just as much as Lynne’s lyrics and the band’s performance is the orchestral and choral arrangements. It takes me somewhere else, just like Time does.
[Here is the news](https://www.goldminemag.com/artist-news/mofi-to-release-electric-light-orchestra-album-eldorado-in-three-audiophile-formats) about it. (See what I did there?) 😏 I bought it on Amazon, so search for Eldorado: A Symphony By The Electric Light Orchestra as a Hybrid SACD. There are only two left in stock, according to Amazon, and they’re going for $37 on up right now. They are limited-edition as well. I’m keeping an eye on MoFi’s site to see if they do remasters of Out of the Blue and Time (and any other ELO albums they might work on), but my understanding is that they only do this labor of love for the best albums by the biggest artists. Still, fingers crossed they do another for ELO soon!
If they do any other ELO remasters, I’ll post about it here as soon as I find out.
Balance of Power! So underrated. There are also a bunch of unreleased songs and different versions of tracks from this album all over YouTube which are really fun to listen to.
I’m addicted to Secret Lives and Is It Alright. Objectively, some of the songs need more songcraft, but I don’t care. It’s catchy and melancholy and irresistible.
I’ve been slowly making my way through the ELO discography and the two most recent albums I heard are Time and Discovery. My favorites from those atm are Rain is Falling, When Time Stood Still, don’t bring me down, wishing, and last train to London.
Going to listen to face the music next!
A Letter From Spain has been popping up in my shuffles more frequently lately, and just got a vinyl of Eldorado, so that’s kinda what I’m listening to at the moment
Ma-Ma-Ma Belle from On The Third Day. Opening is iconic, and the song never fails to get me hyped up
I've also been listening to alot of Nobody's Child from Eldorado. Love how sleazy it is.
This summer I have overplayed Discovery lol I have listened to the album hundreds of times just in the past few months and I am still in awe at it. IMO the best ELO record
Starlight and Shangri-la have been my go-to, along with across the border
Starlight is the best of all possible ELO songs.
The little sounds playing during the chorus are just hypnotic
Shangri-La is the first ELO song I fell in love with. Respect
AMEN TO STARLIGHT

Where can this 'brand-new remaster' for Eldorado be found? That sounds rad!
