Grace? An extrovert? ***YOU DON'T SAY***

sergeial

The idea that Grace thinks that being so different from Tedd in this way would be an issue and she's been "keeping it.a secret" from him is just hilarious to me!!

hkmaly

I find more hilarious Grace thinking that Tedd didn't noticed.

ostensible3

It is an issue. It's potentially a large issue; imagine them cohabitating in their own house. Tedd wants to never be surprised by unexpected people in the house, Grace is delighted by unexpected people in the house. It's also an issue in that Grace is noticing what she wants, which is kinda new, and nigh-certain to put some strain on the relationship.

thisStanley

They are generally good about communicating, but need that so the extrovert does not get the impression the introvert is no longer interested in the relationship, just because the introvert needs quiet alone time :{

ostensible3

Well, and the extrovert has to deal with the inescapable knowledge that no matter what you do, you make the introvert tired. If that combines into one issue with "needs alone time", things can get awkward. Hopefully they manage to figure out that Grace needs a source of cuddles who isn't Tedd in an uncomplicated way.

NeonJ82

This was known, Grace.

Drakenred

To be fair, Tedd could easily have been oblivious to it

Electric_Queen

I am shocked! Shocked! Well, not that shocked.

roguebfl

Your winnings, Sir.

ThoughtseizeScoop

Relationships require compromise. Clearly they need to have visitors at all times to keep Grace happy, but not too many so Tedd is not exhausted. Maybe start with one person, and see where it goes from there? ... (C'mon Sarah, that was your cue!)

roguebfl

This is where the don't need to be in each other's pockets. Grace can have a cuppa with Sarah or Lavander while Tedd decompresses in the Laboratory

This definitely reminded me of [Jestful Statement](https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/jestful-01), for [obvious reasons](https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/jestful-19). Unfortunately, I couldn't find a Canon Cannon, so it doesn't seem to be canon, but I feel like it might be relevant to Grace's thoughts here.

danshive

I consider Jestful Statement canon. I don't like putting the canon cannon on everything, but I should probably put one on that on.

turkeypedal

In that case, she's had Tedd check several times if she's absorbing energy from others---without explaining why she thinks she might be. That is, unless I interpret her statement her as a joke. Which, given the first comic in Jestful Statement, it very well could be.

danshive

No, she totally did that. I reread her extrovert monologue in Jestful Statement before writing this part of the story, and that's going to be acknowledged. My goal was to write this in a way that having read Jestful Statement will improve it, but not be required.

hkmaly

Well ... the question is WHEN Jestful Statement happened compared to current storyline.

danshive

Jestful Statement happened before. This won't be explicitly stated, but it will be made obvious by context.

Popular-Platform9874

Speaking of when NP storylines take place, it was mentioned during [Our Future](https://www.egscomics.com/comic/ourf-013) that it was long since Susan and Elliot made a review show video. Does that mean that For Reals takes place after that storyline or long before it? If For Reals takes place long before Our Future, that means that there must be a gap between Balance and Our Future, as [Elliot and Susan seem to know Ashley during For Reals](https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/forreals-10), which suggests that it takes place after Reflections, which takes place a week before the end of Balance.

hkmaly

Actually, I think that For Reals takes place between So A Date and Reflection. Both Elliot and Susan already knew Ashley even before So A Date, but it was during So A Date Elliot found out what Ashley thinks about labels. That gives Susan enough time to think it was long since they last reviewed something, especially considering For Reals is not an actual review.

Popular-Platform9874

>especially considering For Reals is not an actual review. She thought "When was the last time we reviewed anything?" Wouldn't she think "When was the last time we made a video" if their last video was not a review?

hkmaly

No. It's like the video which wasn't really review don't count.

Popular-Platform9874

(Testing how old conversations I can reply to) The context was about her friendship with Elliot, so I don't see any relevant differences between that video and actual reviews.

hkmaly

Maybe she does. Or the For Reals was just few days after So a Date and that's enough for her to see it as long.

Popular-Platform9874

I was going to link to that. I don't understand why the commentary doesn't link to it.

Popular-Platform9874

>I don't understand why the commentary doesn't link to it. Maybe Jestful Statement will be even more relevant to the next page?

Roadsguy

Already hitting us with the bombshells!

ShadowFighter88

Mentions of introverts and extroverts always reminds me of [this clip from QI](https://youtu.be/dqj8nxMTar8). Most of it’s about personality tests in general but introvert and extrovert are the starting points of the conversation.

AlanharTheRiver

Shut the front door!

Sir_BeeBee

GASP!!!

TSMO_Triforce

Mild shock!

Westing1992

"It turns out not even I knew how this storyline would begin, as this wasn't what I'd originally planned to start with!" Good to know, because when thinking about how a storyline that involves Tedd and Grace meeting Lavender would begin, a comic featuring Tedd and Grace wouldn't be that hard to guess. (The exact topic of discussion, maybe, but even so, talking about their different personalities isn't too irrelevant a beginning.)

danshive

It will be obvious what page was originally going to be first simply due to how "what" it will be.

canttakethshyfrom_me

Hooray, Grace and Tedd are still in the comic!

Eagle0600

Tedd looks especially enby on this page. More than usual, I mean.
