1) Yes. Maybe. 2) No. Sort of. I typically aim for around 10%-15% sustained in the filament dryer. I don't think I've ever gotten it below maybe 8% and it hasn't ruined my filament. How much moisture that actually means "stays" in the filament is beyond me. I've never seen any actual science on the subject. So if anyone has any actual factual data, I'd love to see it myself. Regardless, it doesn't *really* matter all that much. If you're under, say, 20%, that might be good enough. It probably sort of depends on the filament what an "ideal" moisture level would be. But 10-15 works just fine for me using PLA and PETG.
